I loved the celebration Joe Carter had when he was rounding the bases with the way he ran and then jumped on the bases, then ran and jumped some more and then jumped on home plate while being mobbed by his teammates! The pure joy he had on his face when he was hoisted up and carried by his teammates was an awesome moment!

My favorite baseball call of all time - "The winners and still world champions, the Toronto Blue Jays". Someday maybe they'll win again.

@@bnegs521 True. But Henderson was brought in for the Playoffs. WAMCO was the lineup who got them there. I don't remember what position in the Batting Lineup he had during the Series. If he was #2 then yes... WHAMCO!!! But if he kept his traditional #1 spot... HWAMCO. :)

It's crazy how blessed Joe Carter's career was, particularly during his time as a Blue Jay. Hitting third does help, but that's a position in the order that has a heavy burden and a trust factor. 30+ HRs, 100+ RBIs, from 1991-1993... Game winning walk-off single to Clinch the 1991 AL East, the first Blue Jay RBI in the World Series, the first Blue Jays World Series Home Run in Canada, catches the final out to clinch the 1992 Championship, catches the final out for the 1993 ALCS, and the walk-off HR to win it all in 1993.

After several years putting up great numbers for some paltry Cleveland teams, I’d say he’d more than earned those blessings.

If Henderson wanted to get on base, he was going to get on base. What a leadoff hitter. And while on base, he would cause pitchers fits because of his base stealing prowess. You could tell here that mitch Williams was preoccupied with Henderson. Alot of people thought that the Jays trading for Henderson was a bust but he was worth whatever they gave up to get him.

I watched this ninth inning, and I could FEEL ALL THE JOY. That was the first WS walk off home run I'd ever seen, and I know Joe Carter felt like he was flying.

Duh, the only other time it happened where the World Series was won on a walk off home run was in 1960...so yeah no kidding it was the first one you had seen it's not like it happens often lmao.

They struggled with their coverage. Only concern for them was the postseason, and the regular season coverage and promotion of the game just died. That’s really when cable became necessary for my household: we wanted to see games more regularly, and the game of the week wasn’t there all year on network tv.

Williams has the worst form for an MLB pitcher. What ever did the trick back then, but it didn’t do the trick.

I have never seen a pitcher have to ole' "Fall off toward 3rd base" problem as bad as this guy... This was a little before my time, but was he overthrowing because of the moment, or was this how he pitched his whole career? Cause it looks like it puts him in a horrible position defensively. I'd bunt right back at the 1st base side of the pitchers mound, no way he gets it.

I bet he wasn’t a hero in Quebec and some of the Maritime provinces. Expos fans hated the Blue Jays. Why do they assume all of Canada was thrilled? Are Mets fans jubilant when the Yankees win because it’s New York? I doubt it.

Good shout. I’m guessing that when Montreal won it the next year (yes, it would’ve happened), they’d have recycled the exact same storylines. Just a haunch.
