I guess that I’m the exception. Because of age my swing speed has become moderate (94mph) but I can honestly say that the Ventus TR Blue 55 R tipped 1.5 inches has given me a great feel and ball flight, and moreover has helped me to get rid of the nasty hook.

Great review, I agree with the up grade, but like you said it does get very expensive, I up graded my TSR 3 driver with Graphite Design DI , but Tietilist has a nice deal only $200 up charge for a great shaft, I also up graded with my Callaway 7 wood with the Ventus red velocore but it was $350 in price, but like you stated I have the shafts now so if I wanted I could put another manufacturer tip on , just mentally it gives me more confidence lol because golf makes you mental lol!! Using the Red in my Tour Edge Exotics fairway woods and get great distance and dispersion. Highly recommend!

Can't believe the accuracy iv'e gained since switching to the ventus black. Both the black and the blue do a really good job keeping the spin down for that x-tra carry and the red is really nice with the fairway woods.

Big fan of the blue, didn't find it gave me the best dispersion but lots of power. Would love to try the black but feel it's going to be a bit much for me.

What I love is that I can play the red in its lightest weight in R like my swing speed wants and it still feels soft even though I don’t snap hook it off the planet. It’s a unicorn

So basically speaking, manufacturers are making poor quality shafts and unless you pay for the quality upgrade you won’t get best results. Lame. How bout we make a good standard shaft since they’re charging over $600 for a new driver.

The shaft brands would probably say it's much more head brand led. With price points to hit (which are governed by how much golfers will pay for a driver) something has to be squeezed. Selling not many drivers with premium shafts for £600 - £800 doesn't help golfers, the shaft brands or head manufacturers.

It's about maintaining the high profit margins on the club heads that they spend their marketing and R&D budgets on. So, you end up with the mass produced vanilla flavor shafts, 'cause most weekend golfers will only notice weight and flex through a quick demo try and not really do much homework on the shaft comparisons anyway.

Premium shafts are good, however looking at those number, there's not a massive difference between distances in previous video's. A lot of manufacturers stock shafts are also premium...the Hzrdus 4G in the TSR being a perfect example.

agreed, the 4g is closest thing to a ventus . A lot of the top brands , Cobra, Callaway ,Taylormade and titleist offer this as a stock option, great value!!

@jason maestre Yep. Titleist is the only brand offering the TX version. I've actually switched from the Ventus to the TX 4G HZRDUS. It's also no uncharge.

Just get a fitting for your clubs . Buying aftermarket shafts is a niche market for specific players whom have high swing speed and playing higher tournaments or just wasting your money.

There is no Ventus Black for irons. Fujikura make the Axiom shaft for irons it has the same VeloCore tip tech. We have a video on them here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fd6pq8KatrKnl2Q.html

Hi Moosehook. The stock TM Ventus doesn't have the Fujikura VeloCore structure inside. It's the bit made out out of premium materials, for ultimate stability. Fujikura say they work on good, better and best platforms, where the stock TM Ventus would be categorised as good, the after-market Ventus is best. Hope that helps. question ? would the HZRDUS SMOKE RED RDX suit me ... 58 years old.....9 -11 handicap....90-94 mph driver speed....was thinking in the 5.5 flex....i am unable to test clubs so am ordering on line....was this shaft or the FUJI Ventus red TR.......would really like your thoughts...cheers from Alberta

It's not really possible to offer a valid recommendation without seeng you swing and your shot data golfaddict. We'd seriously recommend trying both the shafts you're interested in before buying.
