This crazy movie played a pivotal role in American history! During the Watergate Hotel break-in, the burglars had a lookout in a room across the street, but he got distracted watching this very movie and, thus, did not see police pulling up to investigate. As a result, the burglars were arrested and a US President was brought down.

Interesting fact Bill Clinton was chosen for the jury panel to impeach Nixon as he was a known as a far left wing politician but was about to run for governor of Arkansas so he asked that his wife Hilary take his spot as she had been an intern for the president of the California communist party so she took his spot in the panel.

In 2020, I lost my mom, two dogs and my third dog was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I feel you. I had actually just found Mark and he was a comfort to me too.

I remember watching this movie on TV back in the day. Usually a Saturday mid morning or early afternoon. As a kid I LOVED IT!!! I did not notice the flat look of the “dolls” in the plastic containers. Also loved how the two sizes were meld together. What did I know, I was a kid. Love that you go back and pick these weird movies to review.

"Mr. Franz" was played by John Hoyt, the ship's doctor ("Dr. Philip Boyce") in the original "Star Trek" pilot "The Cage" (1965), but for all "Twilight Zone" fans, he was the businessman who reveals he is a three-armed alien in the roadside diner at the end of "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?" and the android maker "Dr. Loren" in "The Lateness of the Hour", both from the second season of the show (1960-61).

3:27 I think we should stop and take a minute to enjoy the kind of flounce this lovely little woman can pull off. You don't see the girls flounce around much anymore. It's a lost art, this art of flouncing. 7:09 And here we see that Sally can now teleport. It's amazing the different ways this girl can get around.

On paper, the plot to this movie could've been a deep exploration of a wounded man's psyche, scarred by his wife's infidelity...but in execution, it turned into a creepy guy locking himself in a room with dolls and photographically shrunk actors reactions to things that weren't there.

From budgets Big to small, and from movies to TV; sci-fi has never had it better than John Hoyt. You can see John Hoyt in a walk-on part in a TV series, then next see him in a motion picture like, "When Worlds Collide". In the 1960's he seemed to be everywhere: The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Star Trek and even Battlestar Galactica. What a career - what an actor!

They made the B movie you describe. "Doctor Cyclops" There was also one before this (30s or 40s) with Lionel Barrymore where he shrunk people to use as puppets to maim or murder people that did him wrong. Saw it on Svengoulie. That one was very disturbing and likely why Mr Bijoux named this one Attack of the Puppet People. Then Sid and Marty Kroft made Doctor Shrinker...creepy villain scientist but no violence.

The poster made it look so exciting, and yet the closest thing to action in it is a guy beating up a puppet. I agree, your alternate ending would have been much more realistic and exciting. I would love to see this movie redone with that kind of ending. And a scene where they fight a dog, just so it can be accurate to its own poster.

I bought Cracker Jack once as an adult, and the “toy” was called a “flippin’ fish.” It was a piece of cardstock the size of half a stick of gum with a picture of a fish on it you were supposed to flick by lightly squeezing opposite sides together. Literally just a rectangle of thick paper.

*Ironically, actor John Hoyt went on (6 or 7 years later) to appear in an episode of The Wild Wild West called "The Night of The Puppeteer" and an almost identical scene of puppets on a stage is shown. It's uncanny.*
