Hello, friends ‪@MakeGold‬
Today I will introduce the method of silver recovery from IC bga chips
lead-free solder is mostly silver, tin, and sometimes copper or other metals. The temperature required to get a lead-free solder alloy into its molten Pb-free solder materials are used in various parts of interconnections in electronic packages. The first-level interconnectis between the chip and the package substrate and lead-free solder bump material are used in the case of a Flip Chip BGA (FCBGA).
solder ball Where we are interested and there is a silver mixed.
Use nitric acid mixed with water to dissolve the solder ball.
Using copper to precipitate silver.
Use hot water to clean the silver silt powder.
Dry the silver silt powder.
Melt the silver silt powder.
Sprinkle a little borax powder.

Hello, friends Silver sedimentation method. 1. use salt 2. use copper Is a simple way for you to bring the silver solution back into the silver metal again. Thank you for watching our video and commenting.

I think it is because it is an electrolytic reaction so it needs an electrolyte like salt, the metallic copper displaces the metals (like silver or tin) that were in the nitrated liquid

It's a chloride salt of some sort. Silver nitrate will react with chloride salts to form silver chloride and various nitrate salts. The silver chloride isn't very soluble, and it makes a kind of milk-like solution because the precipitate is so thick. Generally speaking any sort of chloride salt will work, but Sodium chloride is extremely common, so that's what it tends to be.

@@thehobo-tographer7652 out of all the literally tons of scrap I've scraped , I'd like to think I got every one possible. And I'm not sure there's many in there at all that are non magnetic. I heard this before and still don't know if it's true. Not to say your wrong at all , but I don't know I've take apart a lot and I mean a lot of really old electronics and I think I may have only seen a couple that didn't react and stick to a magnet. Also there's not many I removed that were in the presence of a magnet either. I just did that once to sheer everything off of the boards with a hammer and a wide paint scraper.

Hmm.. So, it's about $1 of silver per 100g of CPUs that don't have heat spreaders attached. CPUs with most of their weight in the copper spreaders are selling for $2.65 per 100g, or probably 6x as much as their silver value. Copper is worth nothing compared to silver, so... hmmm... Still need friends to be successful it seems.
