I can, without a doubt, say that Lebanon has some of the nicest people you can find! they will do everything to help you enjoy your stay. It is sad to see such a beautiful country getting destroyed and people’s life getting ruined by a greedy government!

the maamoul you've had is filled with date paste, we call them maamoul b tamer, there's also maamoul filled with walnuts called maamoul b joz, as well as maamoul filled with pistachios that we call maamoul b festo2. You can find maamoul in Lebanese sweet shops and some of them make it all year long and can also offer some other regional variety of maamoul or even their own take on maamoul

I’m a Lebanese guy who left Lebanon 15 years ago for work, and your video made me feel so nostalgic… You see the small details that Lebanese themselves don’t pay attention to anymore, you’re such a positive person who sees beauty all around you instead of seeing the many negativity that you casually dismiss, and I loved that about you! You got me as a subscriber and you have all my positive Big Like and support! Keep doing what you do 🤞

Deir el qamar is an iconic town for the old lebanese architecture. Most architecture students in lebanon visit this town at their very first year to sketch the buildings and learn about their history. I think i still have my sketches somewhere at my family's house, :D. Such a good choice you made visiting this town. Best of luck.

Deir Allllll Amar.... lol right pronunciation! That's a beautiful place to visit. I'm sure that you have visited more places coming in next videos I presume like Moussa Castle and the natural cave at Ein w Zein. Mount Lebanon is a beautiful place of the country no doubt about that. Always enjoyed driving through there on long trips. Oh and another thing that Maamoul thingy is available all year long not just during festive season. It can be found at renowned patisseries around the country like Al Halab and such... but you tried the home made one which is fantastic. Also the fillings are either dates or fig plant and sometimes it comes in a walnut flavor.

Thanks for a nice video. As a Lebanese who belongs to a neighboring town of Deir El Qamar and it has been a while since last visit, i felt great to see those narrow streets which i know well… thanks. More on the points while you were walking, you mentioned that it seemed like nobody walks, on the contrary, if you are in summer time, you would see plenty of guys and girls walking on these side walks morning and later afternoon towards the evening. It was simply that you were walking during a bad weather day! Thanks for making nice vids about our country, lovely. Keep it up

This video reminded me once again that Fall is my favorite season. Everything is so green in that region of Lebanon and houses and narrow streets look quaint and cozy. Having four seasons anywhere in the world is a blessing. Years ago I was caught in a pretty heavy downpour in Malta while visiting Valletta, walking back to the hotel, on a quite road. It was pretty much like being in the shower for 45 minutes. Really enjoyed this video! God bless!

A little tip for people picking up or dropping off friends and family to the Rafic Hariri international airport on a rainy day is to just use the underground parking instead of the usual top floor parking. The entrance of which is just on the left of the parking. Because that way you not only don’t park in the rain, but also you’ll get access to the tunnel that takes you directly into the terminal. No umbrellas needed… I know most people love the top floor because the weather is always nice, but P1 and below are just more convenient in the rain. Also as a bonus they usually are less busy and less crowded…

Emily: It is nice to see you again in another fantastic video from Lebanon. I remember being there one time in January, and the weather was very good: Sunny and crisp. I assume you were there around the same time, despite the rain. At any rate, I enjoyed watching walk the streets of Der Al-Amar -- an area that I am not familiar with. I have not actually visited that part of Lebanon, so it was nice seeing yet another town in that country. I also smiled when I saw the cars honking their horns at 20:00. This tradition is fairly common in that part of the world. It is a way to celebrate/ declare that the marriage is finally official. I have seen that many times while I was there, so it brought some good memories. Anyway, this is all for now. I hope you guys are doing well, and I look forward to watching your next video! PS: the fall season in the Northeast has already started, and the weather is excellent. Come visit soon! :)

@Boogie boogie I appreciate the greetings, and I send some back to you! Calling Syria and Lebanon Phoenician is valid. Ancient Phoenicia was established 2500 BC -- way before the first wave of immigration of Arab tribes from the Arabian Peninsula to the Levant in the 7th century. While both Syria and Lebanon are Arabic-speaking counties today, they still comprise a hodgepodge of various cultural groups -- including Phoenicians, Assyrians, Kurds AND Arabs. So being an Arab is a component of the larger collage of various cultural and ethnic groups. I hope this clarifies, and I send you my respect from Boston, Massachusetts.

You should go with Valentine to a restaurant called New Garbatella in Baakline, near Deir el Qamar. Its a very romantic restaurant, especially in the winter, near the cheminée (chimney fire). Also, would love to meet you and Valentine when i visit Lebanon in December :)

The caramel wafer thing is designed to be sat on top of the cup of tea and the heat makes the caramel met, and creates the best biscuit of all time. Just FYI 😂🤣

I enjoyed your videos (maybe I watched 8 of them), I like Douma, Batroun then Tripoli, Jbeil, Baalbak, and Barouk not bad. Beirut is less than the average. I enjoyed how people react to you both. I regret that I didn't do like you or the others when I was in Russia or France. For video editing I am using PowerDirector, what are you using as software? Go ahead

I have to tell you I lived in Dair al Qamar when i was a kid back in the early 90's. It's amazing place. People mostly hawnk cause they think you want to ride somewhere even they hawnk anyone even Local people too. Yeah Lebanon will never be an unsafe place for me, I think western countries such as USA and Australia can be more dangerous. Also I would suggest you meet Lebanese friends and they can show you around instead of being alone, unless you want to. Also I love how you went to this town not many tourists go there and you went during a quiet time looks so peaceful. Live Love Lebanon forever.

it is not a jam in maammoul, it is minced dates mixed with some butter and a little of flower water

I think your driving skills have improved after your visit and maybe you can drive F1 now....:). It is for sure not usual for a woman to walk alone in the rain. Drivers were just wondering if you are lost or needed assistance or a taxi. In these town, everybody knows everybody and winter visitors are not very common....The room price will go X 4 during the summer when it is season...Thanks for sharing this beautiful hotel, I will try it one day for sure
