Good information but black video in part of the video

I am a Sony user. I have the Sony A7 RIV and I have 11 E-mount lenses (7 primes, 4 zooms ), I use TechPro to adapt M-mount lenses and use another F-mount to M-mount adapter to adapt Nikon manual lenses onto Sony E-mount. E-mount does have a wider selection of lenses than Nikon Z because they allow Samyang, Sigma and Tamron into making E-mount lenses, Sigma has released a lot of very good prime for E and L mount only like their 85mm F1.4, Tamron partly owned by Sony provides the excellent third party zoom lenses like 35-150mm F2-2.8. I like the Z7 series of Nikon cameras and if I do switch it will be something equivalent of Z7. It will be even more interesting if there is a RF->Z adapter or RF->E adapter.

This is very exciting! Z mount = the ‘universal’ mount for mirrorless era?!? As Z mount has the shortest flange distance of the main mirrorless systems at 16mm, the fact a competent adapter has been developed for E system having an 18mm flange is very encouraging for other mounts >~18mm. Assuming the respective technical compatibility / connectivity / communication issues can be overcome, the other systems that might be adapted include: RF (20mm flange), Fujifilm (17.7mm), MFT (to APSC, maybe with some vignetting) (19.25mm), Canon RF and Leica L (both 20mm). Then with existing adapters, this would extend to Canon EF mount etc. Happy days! I’m a Canon EF/ Lumix MFT shooter but have been wondering (1) whether a Nikon body might become a viable (cost effective) option by using my lenses with an adapter, and (2) whether the wide array of third party E mount lenses would be able to be adapted to Nikon. I really like Nikon SOOC colours, including the flat video profile. There is just something very clean and crisp about the images, especially on the full frame BSI mirrorless sensors. Canon is also great but different: a rich, organic, natural look (I don’t know the right words to describe the differences…)!

Good video guys, By the way, did you ever test the Fringer EF-NZ on Canon lenses to Nikon? That would help me when out shooting with some friends using Canon lenses. Thanks and keep up your excellent work. Luis

Bought one specifically to use Zeiss Batis (40mm CF) on the original Z7, now use on Z9. I am forever hopeful someday, there will be AF Zeiss for the Z system

Does this adapter work also with Sigma (E-mount) lenses ?

I use my Canon EF 100-400 IS II adapted to my Z6ii and now my Z8 with a Fringer EF-NZ adapter and it works great.

I have the first generation ETZ11 adapter and it works perfectly fine with my 14mm f1.8 GM lens. The only draw back (not even really sure it was) is that I have an older 24-70mm A-mount lens that I used with a stacked Sony adapter and the autofocus did not work although the lens communicated EXIF data and I was able to control the lens aperture as far as I remember. I might get this one just to see if that older lens AF works.

Can we set custom control i.e exposure compensation to the adapted lens ring like the native Z lens?

Try it on a Z9 with a Sony GM lens with linear motors and watch it’s real speed. Sony’s new GM II and fast primes add a lot to Nikon.

Good to see but I will stick to OEM lenses where I can. I know I now 12+ Nikon lenses from wide PCe lenses to 500mm PF lenses there is know way I am changing systems. I have been more than happy with Nikon for the last 45+ yeas. Do Nikon work for every image type NO but they do a great job of what they do. I have others cameras for thought occasions in Studio when needed. But good to see someone making the Z mount even more flexible for others.

Does it have an impact on battery life ?

I’m waiting for mine to arrive. Then will try Tamron 35-150/2.0-2.8 lens on the Z9.

I have the earlier version of the Megadap ETZ-11 and I think it is wonderful. Question is any of the video using the adapter or did you just show the pics with the ETZ-21?

I have one can't believe nikon couldn't make a thinner ETZ like this one , have had some focusing problems with the Sigma 85 f2 but not with sony lenses.

is it the same manufacturer as Techart? I've been hearing story that the adapter damages the pins in the camera. Not sure how true it is

Nice info, Is it consistent, not changing diaphragm during time lapse sequences like the former version leading to heavy flickering making scenes unusable? It couldn't be corrected in postprocessing. Even lapsing at max aperture goes wrong.

I use my Zeiss Batis 135/2.8 with the Megadap adapter on my Zs (Z fc, Z6, Z9) - works well and I have a fantastic 135mm lens on my Nikons. The new 135/1.8 Nikkor Z lens is of no use to me at all: too heavy, too big and too expensive. I hope that the adapter will also work on the Z f I have already ordered - Z 28/2.8, Z 40/2 and Zeiss 135/2.8: a combination that makes sense, is very portable and optics are very good.

7 Sony FE lenses and counting for more on Z7II. At this point I' m going FE rather than Z unless there is a damn good reason for it. Working perfectly fine are these lenses: Sigma 20mm 1.4 DG DN, Sony 35mm GM, SOny 50mm 1.2 GM, Voigtlander 50mm F2, Voigtlander 65mm F2, Voigtlander 110mm F2.5 (All Voigtlanders manual focus better as adapted since the digital rangefinder is available on adapted but not on native Voigtlander Z lenses) + Samyang 135mm F1.8 AF. I like Nikon legacy and their legacy lenses. Have some F mount telephotos also so the platform kinda makes sense. Sony AF is better right now however but Nikon's have magic 64 iso and controls I'm used to.

It’d be great to see one of these types of tests/reviews on the Fringer EF-NZ adapter for Canon EF lenses onto the Z cameras. I do own this adapter but don’t have access to the Canon L series glass. I’d love to see how the high end lenses fair on the Z bodies.

My etz21 is not working, camera is crazy when adapter connected and pc can't see this device. Company is not responding to emails. In case of any issue, you're left alone.

The Megadap ETZ21 doesn't work with the Z9 after the last Firmware-Update . Extremely slow AF !

it probably means more to telephoto users as we are the ones with the worst coverage. however whilst Sony and canon insist on making their longer lenses in white and grey I won't be buying into any of them because they look terrible and the people who want long lenses for wildlife need something more discreet. what idiot thought of making high vis wildlife lenses !

Nikon has great cameras and lens. Z6 - great camera, but has problem with user experience. I use Canon EOS R6 for my KZfaq videos. It is fantastic camera. I love it))))💙
