Y’all….this pie gave me everything I needed in my life last Thanksgiving and I’ve been waiting to share it with you guys! It has such an incredible flavor and the texture is sooooo creamy, yet firm because I can’t fool with no loose, watery pies. “Minnie don’t burn chicken!” (Ok I know that has nothing to do with this pie but I just like randomly saying that line)
Oh and be sure to make my homemade buttery pie crust recipe to go with this pie ok? Promise? This is my FAVORITE pie crust! And you know what they say “ a pie is only as good as it’s crust!” I actually don’t know if they say that but I say it and it’s true. Make the crust Annie Mae!!

Wow, incredible! I am 25 y/o and learning how to cook. I decided I wanted to do a sweet potato pie for my family but they begged me not to. After much research on KZfaq on how to fix one and not embarrass myself, I stumbled upon your channel. I’m saying all of this to say, my family was shocked on how good it was. The only ingredient I omitted was the flour because my batter was very thick!!! I’ve literally have been crying because I gained respect on a black folks thanksgiving 😂 or maybe they were just trying to make me feel good? Either way I thought the recipe was fabulous. Thank you!

It lasted 3 days in my house which is actually pretty good. If I had some vanilla ice cream on hand it would have been a wrap. Sweet potato pie crumbled up in vanilla ice cream..mercy!

Monique my love, made this recipe for Thanksgiving (11/28/19). It was a HIT!!!! Very delicious. Put dark rum in mine. I made a graham cracker crust instead. I like my SPP with graham cracker crust vs. a butter crust. Also, made homemade whipped cream for topping. Thank you so much for this recipe. It's awesome! 💖💖👍🏾👍🏾

When making sweets you have to use salted butter or add some salt, it helps balance the sugar. If you don't it leaves a nasty after taste on your tongue.
