Spectrum updated a week after I posted this. They changed the guide function . I’ll do an undated version for the guide here shortly.

question i have my settings to SHOW FAVORITES in the filter but when i exit the app or turn off on tv why does the favories filter disable and show theguide from ch 1 . it doesnt seem to save like the dvr box o have keep doing it. is there a way to presently save the filter favorites when i start the app every time

when you add a Ruko device to your tv, do you need their remote or can you just use the Ruko remote? I purchased two Ruko and found out they don't have a volumn button...might exchange them..

That one you will not be able to. The lower end models give you the bare minimum. You can buy individual roku remotes the will allow you to but at that point you might as well have bought a little better one. The one you bought to be honest isn’t that great. The cheeper Rokus aren’t that great

@@RYNOTECH I see one that is $40 that has volumn control. But my main question is....will you have to use two remote controls or just the Roku?

@@katd6580 you will be able to use just the roku for the most part. If you need to change the input on the tv you will have to use the tv remote for that. Otherwise everything is on the roku

And if you have the app through a Samsung tv you can actually use the number buttons on your remote to change channels like having an actual box receiver. Saved some money by using the app instead of having multiple box receivers...

Thanks for this. Some good tips in here. One thing I am looking for is instructions on pausing/rewinding live tv on the cloud dvr like you can with the physical dvr box. Pressing pause or rewind on roku controller (even ultra) does not do that... and I cannot believe that this would not be available for a dvr offering.

Yeah unfortunately that’s where they fall really short. That feature does not exist on spectrums app with there cloud dvr. It’s unfortunate.

If you need an in-home Spectrum technician ask for Roy Holden Jr. He is famous for having no complaints and can be easily found on the internet for his heroic service.

spectrum should pay you! honestly, they do not have this information for customers! They send emails with tons of links and information that never really answer your questions when you call for support. Thank you!

Thanks. They change part of the app a week after I made it but the rest is still relevant. I spent about 72 hours on that video. Filming and editing.

If you have the dvr service it should pop up on the app.

Do i need a different DVR to be able to record to the cloud because i don`t see my recordings ?

The recordings from your dvr won’t show up there. Your dvr has a hard drive in it that stores your recordings. If the app allows you to record it will record to the cloud. Spectrum doesn’t have that feature with the physical dvr s. I don’t think they ever will.

Hey why are Hotel Spectrum TV Packages using OTA DTV channel formats like 11-1 or 12.3? What changed? I have not used CATV in YEARS.

It’s done with quam to quam. Basically there’s a device in there server room that is hooked up to the internet. That device has all the channels on it through the internet. Then it gets converted to rf that goes to all the room. The TVs in the room get auto tuned to each channel. That why you see like 2.1 and so forth. That’s the basic break down version without getting technical.

I have spectrum TV, internet & phone. I'm hoping to take my spectrum with me on my new RV. This helped a lot but the record button didn't show up. You said in another post that I need to pay for the cloud DVR. Do I get that through Spectrum. Spectrum doesn't help much when I call them.

They should know. It’s a service they provide. It’s called cloud dvr. Next thing I hate to be a bad guy here but the app has limited channels when your not on spectrums internet service.

Can you still get the secondary guide now that spectrum changed the guide? You now have to hit the right arrow to access the guide. Then neither left nor right brings up the categories you show.

Yeah they changed all that a week after posting this video. If you press the top arrow on top next to home you can access it from there. It will be at the top of the screen. You will have home,live tv,guide,my library and on demand. Hope this helps

The left arrow doesn’t work like that on mine. How do you access recent channels?

I know they changed it a week after I posted it. If you use the right arrow and then hold the ok button it will take you to that feature.

I was going to get Spectrum but I don't feel they're being transparent about the DVR record limit. They say 100 shows but I need more of a storage limit so for now I'm staying with KZfaq TV.

Probably best. I don’t have KZfaq tv but with spectrum you can’t pause live tv. I can’t get a definitive answer on record space either.

Thanks, this video is so helpful how do we know which things are free eon demand and which cost and our channel like up we just got the service tonight how can we watch streaming service away from home . We can record from ruku.

As far as relay a show from yesterday time stamp 4:33 will go over the on demand part of the app. When in there you need to find the network the show is on and choose it. Then find the show then the episode you want. Be mindful some networks don’t release the show the day after aired. Most do but there are some that don’t. I know discovery releases a week later for some reason. To the second part of your question I’m in the process of gathering information to make a video on the mobile app features and the limitations of it when your not on your network. I’ve had to take a couple of months from being in front of the camera and I have my son help me. I won’t be able to go in front of the camera until late October. I’m in the process of multiple mouth surgery’s that have caused me the inability to understand my speech. Its getting better. I hope this I’d helpful I wish I could put that second video out sooner. Any other questions feel free to ask.

I am not sure I'm keeping this service tho cuz I don't like ads and commercials so looking for a streaming provider that has own station Oprah's and BET for 20 a month

You need to update this becuase the left menu does not work anymore and I cannot find the settings. I used to be able to set the default channel on start.

You have to subscribe to the cloud dvr for it to be there. Be mindful if you get it, you can only record. It won’t let you pause live tv

You will have to wait till it gets closer to the air date. For some reason it won’t let you do it till like 1 or 2 weeks prior to air if It’s s new show. Also spectrum changed the app right after I made this video and the guide portion changed. It was the same way for 3 years and 2 weeks after I made this video they changed stuff on me.
