Springboks will bounce back. This gave them a better idea on selection as the players they had on the field in the first half just werent it. Faf de klerk shouldnt be there, mapimpi and mbonambi. Arendse should have been selected, Marx start along with those other better players they brought on in the second half. Strange choices in my opinion especially how some performed in last weeks test against Australia.

We conceded penalties because we couldn't deal with the high tempo of the AB game. Full stop!

Wasn’t just the first 20. After the boks came back stronger in the 2nd half (they needed to) the ABs stepped it up again, twice - Jordan and Mounga tries.

It's the first hit out for boks with ABs in a long time, ... the ABs have just come off a long super rugby season and haven't stopped playing. Some are coming of injuries ready to play. SA now playing in NH competition they just seem to have a different mindset now, a little complacent maybe? The score line was a huge surprise before it was always down to the wire, Size matters, but that doesn't always win games. AB have had a bad run the last few years, but an injured AB is a dangerous one.

Guys you showed them in the second half where we could get them they were better than us on the day but come World Cup we will be good

Here is a Lesson: The Abs brain trust has figured out how to nullify the Boks lineout unlawfully so as well. With no 0.5 either side of the touch of mark. This is why BOKS did not jump to the contest there is no contest... This was overlooked time and time again, and gave Abs license at the restart. Its a shame the line-out is such an important part of the game, loved by us old-school purists. Boks should hold up their catcher long enough so his boots go down on the heads of the AB advancing maul.. Ref will then have to call it..Some food for thought, before the next game in England..Every time they encroach the mark the Boks should walk in so there is no .5 on the mark and get the captain to speak to the ref. Asking where is the 0.5 ?

Great game but what a big n strong SA team. The bomb squad is real. We will always need to bring our A game to beat them. This WC just keeps getting more interesting.

Faf giving kicking possession away / gifting the opposition with ball in hand led to those 1st 2 tries - Not to mention his 50/50 kick to Kolbe within the ABs 22 and kick out at the restart - Against lesser teams we get a false sense of quality - in this fixture the ABs love him and his box kick gifts. 2nd half with a better channel chooser the Bokke scored more points. -

Mapimpi and Damian delende dont belong in the squad . they knew Mapimpi is vulnerable when it comes to high balls . AB always kicked on him during this game . Libbok should start at 10, Arendse much better then Mapimpi on 11 with Kolbe on 14 . Esterhuizen for Damian De alende, willemse can play full back or inside . cannan moodie can play fullback or wing . we are blessed with young talent use them Boks .

Well played NZ and deserved winners. It is my hope that the Boks now put to bed what players we start and at what position. Willemse is not good enough at 10 to justify starting. Pollard and Libbok are the two obvious choices. Faf imho is playing himself out of the team with Reinach and Grant Williams being the choice halfbacks. I would love to see RG and Eben start at the RWC. We need a proper fetcher so Marco or kwagga must start with psdt and either wiese or Duane. Lastly, de Allende looked lost - perhaps Japan rugby has soften him. Estehuizen is the choice 12 with Am. Oh yes and Mapimpi …. What a story what a player - nothing but respect for the man. But he surely loses out to Arendse with Kolbe on the other wing.

They played their best team, we didn't, selections need assessing

The Boks coaching staff has had 4 years of preparation and have finally observed who should be the best 15 for the Boks because if they dont learn from their mistakes by selecting players past their prime or who are just mediocre (Le roux, Kriel, Vermulen, Mapimpi, Wiese, De Allende, Kwagga, and a few others) then we as South Africans must get ready for a tough RWC. by giving players like Roos, Libok, Wlliams, Moodie, Arendse and many more SA based players 20-35 minutes every game clearly makes life difficult to show their class as they have been doing for their provincial clubs. But by all means Nienarber, if you think the players of 2019 can win the RWC again then be deluded and select them again. I dont think nz can get better than they did today because even the stats show that the Boks werent really outplayed even though the scoreboard says so. nz have a good squad going into the RWC but as forster said, there is still a lot to work on. So those nz rejoicing because of this victory? theres no pschological advantage as we had over nz in 2018. The Boks played their cards and finally have the squad depth and versatility to beat any team, anywhere. Hence, we do not peak for TRC or small cups like Nelson Mandela cup or the Freedom Cup, We peak for RWCs.

I have been saying since 2018 that this is not a great SA side. They are slow, some even look to be unfit, some are looking past it, and I don’t see younger fitter, hungrier players coming through, especially in the forwards. Yes, a ton of experience but the forwards look a bit old and tired.

Jacques Nienaber is a garbage coach. Too many old guard players playing poorly...not prepared, no spark, too many mental and handling errors.....how can you not get up for an all blacks game??? wtf? embarrassing.

maybe start with the team with a full 80 minutes of rugbt instead of fresh players with contact time......never liked Nienaber as he always makes the wrong choices

*Overall stats...Played over a 100 games... NZ 60% win vs Bok 40% That should tell you that The All Blacks will win most games vs the Boks. *Boks are never great when they favourites...proven again. * Boks can't put 2 consecutive results together... Proven again...WC they beat a cooked England who were gassed from the prev weeknd vs (All Blacks) althought they where good enough to win on that day. Take-homes.. *The 2 games pre WC( Twickenham still to come) , Rassie was never going to show his full deck of cards(and rightly so)...SO i do expect some tweaks... *There depth isnt really there in terms of World Beaters...( ie they do not have 2 squads that can go toe-toe with NZ/FRa/IRELAND), having said that the split squad was supposed to counter the the Jet Lag and Travel fatigue, and the majority were first choice players available...so that is a big shock how poor they where in the 1st half. *NZ had to fly to Arg and then Back- so yes this performance was super impressive. Also the fact that they peaked towards the end of the game aswell. *The conditioning of the NZ players is so impressive. I saw in the first half Rettalick tackle a Bok backline player and get back to his feet before even a single Bok was in the picture. *Good wake up call for the Boks, I would have expected them to still lose but the spilt squad / top players/ plan just failed- that is worrying- It should have been less than 5 points loss for the Boks to feel better. Richie Muanga -80% successful kick rate vs dog avg Boks(May cost them come WC crunch time...) Last Semi vs Wales they needed the kicker to get them through. Safe to say- they do not have that option now. Without Marx- Lineout throws are a joke, I still do not understand why you onpy want Marx best hooker in the World playing 35min out of 80 in the big games. A first choice Bok side( incl the form players from the Aus game) - makes me think. *You have to start with your Best Team, the margin for error in the WC is too small to expect Bomb squad to do the business for 35 min out of 80min. The 2 wings will be KLA and Colby (Mapimpi is sadly cooked at this level now) * Centre combo is a worry( DDA and Am-post injury) I feel are going to be a weak link come WC time. I still think the B-Team that played the prev week had such a good balance- bring some of the new Blood in to freshen up things in the A team- the Boks will definitely improve then. I think one of the next 2 Argentina games is a good game to try that and get that 1st team combo right. Then against Wales aswell play the same team. Eng at Twickenham they wont show much- may give the B team a run again just to get them ready for a potential KO game familiarity with Nz. The A team will play Scotland and Ireland in the WC. NZ can only get better....
