DC's Stargirl, or simply Stargirl, is an American superhero television series created by Geoff Johns that premiered on streaming service DC Universe and now airs on The CW. It is based on the DC Comics superhero Courtney Whitmore created by Johns and Lee Moder. The series follows high school student Courtney Whitmore, portrayed by Brec Bassinger, who discovers the cosmic staff and becomes the inspiration for a new generation of superheroes who become the Justice Society of America. The series also stars Yvette Monreal as Yolanda Montez / Wildcat II, Anjelika Washington as Beth Chapel / Doctor Mid-Nite II, Cameron Gellman as Rick Tyler / Hourman II, and Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman! #Stargirl #DCStargirl

It is literally the goal of these writers to make the audience hate Yolanda’s parents more than the actual villains.

I love the fact we still question if it is Brainwave, Eclipso, her own guilt, or some combination of everything and that each answer is valid.

Yvette killed it in this episode (apologies for the dark pun). I so want to give Yolanda a hug after this episode. As a religious person myself, I appreciate having the priest come in and tell Maria that Yolanda has had more than enough judgment, and what she needs is love and support. This isn't what you were taught in church, this is just you being an awful mother. It seems like every member of the JSA is going to be attacked psychologically by Eclipse now. I wonder now if Starman's arrival will not be the happy meeting we might have been expecting, and he'll actually reject Courtney as his successor.

@@userious258 There’s no logic to it. It’s just facts. This show has a bigger budget, better writing, better acting, great characters, great choreography and action scenes, great set design, music, sound design, etc. It’s miles better than almost every superhero show on-air right now.

Yolanda is my favorite and this episode was great. Looking forward to one focused on Rick because he's the most improved character this season compared to season 1.

I agree what Yolanda is doing, she should take a break from being Wildcat for awhile. This episode would have to be number 3 on my list for Stargirl season 2.

A really strong Yolanda episode. Good insight into what the mantle of hero and the choices that come with it means. Wish Red Hood was written like this.

Normally, I immediately start watching the reaction videos for Stargirl. This one I had to wait a while. It was an amazing episode but so filled with sadness that I couldn't delve right in.

Ecipso is up to Something Big that's why he's wandering in the shadows sets up for a huge Finale when the time comes. And the Shade is clearly messed up from his encounter with eclipso.

I agree that it was a heavy episode, but I really enjoyed it! I so missed the Brainwaves, because they were some of my favorites in S1, but also adored the exploration of Yolanda's trauma. I feel like so many superhero shows gloss over the emotional toll it can take.

Tough episode, especially on Yolanda... All this episode is hard to watch, really. Heavy indeed. Your analysis is spot on. It's not a filler, by any means. The JSA is "taken out" one at a time... Ouch. The one thing that made me laugh: Mike "We need to wax this thing, too?"

It was a really tough episode to watch and like even though I am of the camp that this is Eclipso just amplifying what was already in Yolanda's head, it was all still there and there is no easy fix to it. His targets all appear to be someone dealing with emotional angst, which is why his first victim was Isaac, and his next is Beth. And why it appears we will be revealing Rick's secret next week so that we stay comic consistent that he and Courtney aren't really on the menu.

This was a good Yolanda eps. but MAn! They really put through the ringer in this one. Plus, I love how they love you guessing as to what was really going on with her. Was it her own guilt, Eclipso or Brainwave?

I do appreciate Cameron was willing to be understanding with courtney and the phone stuff before she decides to hang out with him. Last few episodes felt like a foreshadow of a jealous angry side which leads to lifetime villain territory. Maybe losing art teacher had him cool down. Also, hate Yolanda's parents. They at least need a punch in the face for being jerks

Brainwave is dead and gone. Go back and watch the scene in the church from the first episode and take note of the shadow across Yolanda's face. Eclipso has been messing with Yolanda for at least that long.

This has nothing to do with the comic books. Quite the opposite, actually. The superhero action aspect of this show is what is appeasing to comic-readers, clearly a live-action representation of a classic splash page. This was as far as this show has strayed from pandering to the comic fans as this was more focused on the characters and the themes. Sounds like you’re just trying to justify hating an episode that you simply weren’t entertained by.
