It has Vince’s footprint all over it. Much like Vince refusing to turn Cena heel, he refuses to turn Roman heel and you could hear the loud boos Roman got as a babyface. Now to be honest, it wasn’t Roman’s fault, it’s WWE Creative and Vince’s stubbornness. Roman only fits as a silent character just like his time with The Shield were one of the best moments in company history. Roman didn’t want to be the next Cena as he said in interviews, so that’s why he was being miscast as a babyface.

From what I saw he hardly has any time on the mic during those promos, they're relying on the Usos or Heyman to do the talking and carry the segments. When Roman does talk he isn't particularly charismatic either so yeah, not buying your applesauce. The guy has been around for years and I have yet to see one memorable/impressive promo from him. Not even in the same league as Flair, Hogan, Rock, Austin at cutting a promo.

He isn’t on the level of The Rock lol no one’s on the level of The Rock. The reason Roman has gotten over is because of his character/promo ability. He makes the crowd invested in the story. He didn’t even speak in the post-match beat down of KO at this year’s Royal Rumble. Yet, he was the highlight of that night, garnering the most heat from the fans to the point where the chanted “f*ck you, Roman”. He’s not on the level of Dwayne or Austin. He doesn’t need to be, he’s taking a different class than them. Roman is a masterclass at making the crowd hate him in seconds.

He was so obnoxious as a face that I literally stopped watching WWE _for years_ after he beat Triple H for the belt at Wrestlemania 32. By that point the fans had made it clear they'd rejected the character and didn't want to see him at all, let alone see him at the top of the card. I actually think Vince continuing to push him was an act of spite against the audience for rejecting his Chosen One. After WM 32 I'd had enough because I knew things weren't going to change. He's better as a heel but just seeing him still makes me want to gag a little.

Not crazy, cancer 100% got him over and eventually that love wore off. Roman was forced into his spot because of his family and his look seemed meant to be on paper so WWE made it be. If he was not part of his family and had to earn his spot by talent and personality he would be nowhere near the place he is. Him and Charlotte Flair are the most privileged in the business that I think I have ever witnessed.

I rather hear him on the mic right now than most of the roster's soap opera voice, but his facial actions are annoying and forced

I think that's part of the issue. I don't gate Roman. But there were a few times Roman could have lost the belt that felt believable and still made his reign strong, but wwe wasted all of them and made Roman win all of them by similar interference. But they way they are trying to present him feels like he should be a strong heel that usually doesn't need interference even if he wins dirty. I think the start of his reign was incredible, but he should have dropped it to Drew, regained it st the rumble, and lost to cody. Then, somewhat have what is happening right now happen except with a focus on the bloodline getting the wwe title back and Roman becoming more unpredictable. Roman shouldn't be hated, but I understand why people are sick of his regin.

The reason Roman’s matches always spark interest, albeit the repetitive formula of interference, is because people want to be apart of history. They want to see the end of this 1,000+ day reign. The story wouldn’t work if Roman was just losing randomly. It’s the same thing as The Undertaker’s streak. He lost to Roman, but who cares? Brock already beat the streak, why does it matter? No one has been truly buried by Roman. Everyone walked out of the match either the same, or an even bigger star than they were before.

@CarlStevenson21 I will say I agree that most people stayed the same and a few people came out better from Roman programs. The only ones I considered that came out worse were Finn and braum (debatably theory because they made him case on a mid card title which was such a stink I almost wanted money in the bank to be retired, but he wassnt ready anyways so they were damned no matter what they did) imo, but that was more so on the bookers than anything with Roman. I do think what makes his matches "must see" is story. The story of the bloodline is fantastic, and as a heel, his character dramatically improved. I just felt he ran his course with the belt, and the company are spinning their wheels as I think they could get more out of this even with no title defenses. I do have a theory about why he still gets a lot of hate even though I like Roman. If you look at a lot of the reigns around part of his regin, you had a good period of time where, Roman, bleiar, Gunther and the usos had their belts for long periods of time at the same time with a lot of the title matches feeling like it obvious they would retain and only watch for how and technical/athleticism. And out of all of those, I think Roman being the longest in that period and him wrestling less, sparked some of the continued hate. I will say that while I still like Roman, even though I think he could have dropped the belts and been fine as he already had prestige built on his regin, it makes me look back at the regin of terror and 06-07 Cena a bit more positively because of the other reigns adding different meat to those periods.
