I grew up with Donna's music and I still listen to that perfect voice. No one in the music world will ever compare to the Queen of Disco.

I agree completely with you 👍🏾🙌🏾 I grew up listening to Donna Summer when every Dance floor was Donna Summer. After following her and having bought every record she’s released I always compare every singer with her and there was something in Donna’s voice resonance that no one measures up to. The best female voice ever. Whatever she sang the cry of that voice spoke to my Soul. Take good care The70sGal 🙏🏾❤️

What about Barbra Streisand and Whitney Houston?
@kojoharrison6309 ай бұрын
@@dan74695 Even Whitney who emerged 10 years after Donna Summer admired Donna and knew that Donna was the pioneer. She said in an interview after the release of the cover version of Chaka Khan’s ‘I’m Every Woman’ that she wanted the track to sound like a Donna Summer track so they styled it on ‘On The Radio’ (meaning starting off as a Ballard and then erupting into an up tempo Dance rhythm) All these younger singers all came from Donna Summer and they commend her. Her sound was Ground-breaking. Mary J Blige said Donna was a ‘Game-Changer’!! 💎💎💎👑👑👑💫❤️🙏🏾

To all those great parents being out there making their children proud. Working hard everyday in giving the best the lives they can to them. But remember, they will leave one day too, and you have to let them go to make you proud too, and they will by your example. This was my favorite song on the album when it first came out. Donna Summer!❤

WOW! You heard of her so late in her career (and then that inspired you to buy all her albums; that’s truly Amazing). I’m sure that you noticed the difference in her style of music from 1975 through to 1980 in comparison with ‘All Systems Go’ which was released in 1987 🤔. What did you think of the contrast??

The worst part about this whole thing, is that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame snubbed Donna from induction four times, almost consecutively. Then she died. And then they decided to finally take it upon themselves to induct her. Something really needs to change over there, and people of color should not continue to be snubbed just because they don't have long hair, have melanin in their skin, and don't play guitars . The case of Donna Summer is not an isolated one. It has happened over and over again over these years. Why should someone have to die before they get their proper recognition and place in history that they deserved all along. Why isn't Mary Wells inducted? Dionne Warwick? The Pointer Sisters? The Marvelettes ? It's just ridiculous!! And that's not even counting male R&B artists and groups. The Duke of Earl, Gene Chandler, has had a Hall of Fame level career. We just have to look at Wikipedia, to see what he has accomplished. Why isn't he in the Hall of Fame? The Spinners? The Stylistics? The Dramatics? The Whispers? The Manhattans? Chaka Khan and Rufus? The DOMINOES? Natalie Cole? WAR. Junior Walker and the All-Stars? Roy Hamilton? The Chi Lites? And numerous others !! Why isn't Brook Benton in the Hall of Fame? Johnnie Taylor? Barry white? Lou Rawls? Ben E King , Jerry Butler, and Tina Turner, have yet to be inducted as solo artists. Yet, 80's rappers are getting in, With ridiculous frequency, and rock bands almost by the score. Why?
@thebeardedseeker56334 жыл бұрын
yeah it really pissed me off that Madonna was inducted before Donna Summer. I've been a fan of both for much of my life but frankly there wouldn't have been a Madonna if Donna hadn't come along to blaze the trail before her. Any idiot knows that.

Talent will always be recognised by the people and thats the most important, money can buy you a position in the Hall of Fame. Honest to goodness real talent does not end up in the hall of fame because only the people and not peers know real talent and all those you mention, had and have real talent, most of those running the Hall of Fame wouldnt recognise talent if they were hit by a bus....
@songsofsofia3 жыл бұрын
I think the reason why Donna Summer didn’t get in the Hall of Fame until she passed is because she loved JESUS more than their fame and money.
@jnoyes81802 жыл бұрын
I doubt they even care for that recognition. Their biggest pleasure was the fans. Donna was a child of God. He gave her that beautiful talent. I miss her…..but I will see her again. Soon hopefully! God Bless this wonderful talented beautiful lady!

Not true. Fake news. They were just recently all together for Brooklyn’s documentary on her mom, Love To Love You Donna Summer in 2023. Family all together this year as well for a reunion. Nothing but smiles from the pictures I saw. Donna raised her daughters well. A reflection of the beautiful soul she was. Bottom line, don’t believe everything one reads. 🤷🏽♂️

Very nice. Odd isn't it, that the LIVE & MORE 1978 concert has never been available on vhs or dvd? It was filmed by HBO and you would think by now it would have been available. Maybe now that Driven By The Music is re-releasing her material that maybe they will finally get that concert released, like they did with 1983's - A Hot Summer Night as a cd/dvd set. It seems every music number from the 1978 concert is available all over the internet in seperate clips.

@wmw4339 Жыл бұрын
don’t think this actually happened, but i could be wrong…the family and kids always appeared that they would be above that kind of unnecessary drama but i, like everyone else, am on the outside looking in…i’m pretty sure daddy Bruce Sudano managed this issue accordingly i.e. Donna left all of her financial assets to Bruce
