In this video, I'm giving you a first hand account of me taking Mydayis for the first time!
That's right! I'm officially switching form Vyvanse to Mydayis and sort of giving a Mydayis vs. Vyvanse review.
If you haven't heard of Mydayis, don't worry. It's the newest ADHD medication on the market and not that many people know about it. I go into a little more detail in how Mydayis compares to more well known ADHD medications, like Vyvanse and Adderall.
This is a little different from my regular videos, as I take you along with me throughout my day and document how Mydais affects me. Let me know if you like this style of video, and I may do more! Or if you don't like it, be sure to let me know that as well and I won't make any more like this.
Either way, I hope you get some insight into Mydayis and perhaps it's something you can discuss with your doctor if your current medication isn't working out for you.

Man dude, Vyvanse worked great for myself for about 3 months. But after that, it wore off after MAYBE 5-6 hours. Enter MyDayIs, it’s been a LIFE changing medicine. Lasts the entire day and comes in very light waves. It’s a game changer for people who have hyperthyroidism like myself where medications die off way sooner than they’re supposed to. Give it a shot if you haven’t already. Great review! I was on the 25MG, swapped to the 37.5 and then eventually up to the 50. 50 was great for a while but killed my appetite. Took a break, about a week, went back to the 25 and it’s been MONEY. I really think “medication holidays” help. It’s what my doctor recommends. Skipping a day or 2 that I won’t be at work and actually “need” the medicine. Comes back stronger on the days you need them.

If you prefer vyvanse your doctor can add on a IR Dextroamphetamine. Or they could have you take two vyvanse 6 hours apart.

You've been so very helpful and honest about all this! I'm going to see a psychiatrist Thursday and I'm terrified. Did you ever get depression/anxiety with your journey for finding what medication works for you? I feel like I’ll never be “normal” or have motivation like I had hoped for with help from medication. Serralyn Hey HAHA! You know what’s up with the monkey bread! Yeah, I have depression along with ADHD. I had to go through a few different medications to find what works best. I’m currently taking Cymbalta and it’s really helping with the depression. I can relate to you on the motivation thing. That’s got to be my biggest struggle at the moment. I was hoping that medication would help with this, but hasn’t really done much for me in that department. The good thing for you is you got your diagnosis at a younger age, so you’ll hopefully have more awareness moving forward!

I just got diagnosed with ADHD at 31. And started Adderall 10mg just a few days ago and all I have to say is wow. @journeytowellness7096
@journeytowellness7096 4 жыл бұрын
Wagz22 Wow, that’s great! And, welcome to the tribe! I got my diagnosis at 31 as well (34 now). I started with Adderall 10mg and it helped me a little. Unfortunately I never had that complete turnaround feeling like someone flipping a switch with any of my medications. The thing to remember about ADHD medication is that everyone reacts differently to them. It’s a really good sign that you’re responding well to your first one. It is possible for some people to build up a tolerance over time and either need to go to a higher dose, or change medications all together. For me, Adderall stopped having a noticeable affect on me a couple months after starting it, so I switched to Ritalin. The Ritalin didn’t last long enough, so I switched to Vyvanse. The Vyvanse helped, but not as much as I had hoped, so now I’m trying out Mydayis. Finding the right medication, in the right dose, with the least amount of side effects can sometimes be quite the journey, but one well worth taking. I’m glad you’re getting good treatment now, just make sure to keep in good communication with your doctor.

@@journeytowellness7096 thank you so much for your reply. I've still been taking 10mg in the morning and then one mid-day and still feeling great. Even my boss sat me down to tell me she's noticed a considerable difference in my work now. And I'm also glad that you're doing well too. I will still get a random day that it's not quite as effective but I noticed those are days when I don't get enough sleep so I think it knocks things out of whack. Have you had to change your diet when taking Adderall or now Mydayis? When reading online, avoiding Vitamin C and dairy for the first hour or so is important so that the effectiveness doesn't get dumbed down.

@journeytowellness7096 4 жыл бұрын
Wagz22 Wow, that’s great! I’m happy to hear things are going so well for you! You’re definitely onto something with noticing a difference when you don’t get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can cause even a neurotypical person to present symptoms of ADHD. If you do have it, lack of sleep can make your symptoms worse. It seems like you’ve done some good research too. I had only recently heard about not drinking things like orange juice right after taking medication, but didn’t know it was specifically due to the vitamin c.

Yes. I started on Wellbutrin shortly after I started taking ADHD meds, including Ritalin. I continued working with my psychiatrist and tried many different combinations and doses over the years before determining Wellbutrin wasn’t really doing anything for me. I didn’t have any negative side effects, but it wasn’t beneficial either, even though it has been known to be a powerful adjunct in some cases. If I’m not mistaken, it’s known to be more affective when combined with Adderall, rather than Ridellan. Hope this helps answer your question.

I hope you found a new psych after this. There are specific guidelines for starting doses when switching patients between amphetamine-based stimulant medications. They are obviously cross tolerant and it doesn't take a medical degree to know that. Mydayis is an extended release formulation of mixed amphetamine salts with a different release mechanism than Adderall XR. If you were already on a moderate/high dose of a dextroamphetamine-based medication you should have been started on a moderate dose of Mydayis, no question.

Just an FYI, that wellbutrin has a major drug interaction with mydayis, it will give you seizures.
@journeytowellness7096
@journeytowellness7096 3 жыл бұрын
Anony Moose Interesting 🤔 I haven’t heard of any interactions between the two. I know that Mydayis itself is comprised of the same ingredients as Adderall (dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine), only formulated to last longer. For a long time now, Wellbutrin has been commonly prescribed in tandem with the amphetamine based stimulants because it’s known to enhance their effectiveness. If that combination was known to cause seizures with any amount of frequency, it wouldn’t be common practice to combine the two. I’m definitely not saying it couldn’t or doesn’t ever happen, because there are many different forms of reactions to individual medications as well as medication combinations, just that such severe and concerning reactions are rare, especially when compared to the amount of successful cases being treated in that manner. As for myself, I’ve been taking a relatively higher dose of Wellbutrin along with Mydayis for about 10 months now without any issues. In fact I’ve been taking Wellbutrin alongside all the other stimulants I’ve had for several years and haven’t had any negative side effects. I’ve heard some people have been known to notice increased motor ticks after starting stimulant medication. However, this is usually only a problem for people who either already had motor ticks or were prone to developing them, and taking a stimulant just exacerbated their prevalence or accelerated their manifestation. I’m not sure if seizures work in a similar way?

Great videos! No offense meant at all but you should really consider your sugar intake as part of improving your adhd, and it is most likely the cause of you zoning out (though obviously a med change always makes it hard also). You have a ton of conflicting elements in your diet and drug regimen that are seriously working against each other. I'm a big guy myself and we have to face the facts that drugs can only help so much. Wish you the best.

Josh No offense taken at all, you’re spot on! While reducing sugar intake is always a good idea, maintaining a healthy diet, along with routine vigorous exercise, as well as getting the proper amount of sleep, is supposed to be extraordinarily beneficial to the ADHD brain, as well as give any medications the best chance at being effective. Did your doctor suggest all you meds after adderall or did you suggest to the doctor? I think some doctors don't like when you tell them that you did some research to find new medication's. It's like we're stepping on their toes or drug seeking. I would think they would appreciate the time that they don't have to spend researching. Idk😏
@journeytowellness7096

Fortunately, my doctor made me aware of the different medications, and we started with Adderall. She has always listened to me and taken my input in consideration. I will say that the longer we worked together, the more she trusted my judgment because she knew how knowledgeable I had become from all my research. It’s sad, but not all doctors are like that, and it’s true that you may find a doctor who’s unwilling to listen to your input and suggestions, or even worse, think that you’re just drug seeking. My best advice would be to start working with your doctor and try going along with their recommendations at first. With any luck, they may just work for you. If they don’t, be honest with them and let them know what’s working and what isn’t. If it seems like they’re unwilling to listen to you, find another doctor who is.

Fortunate for me, I was raised in a family of professional drivers and heavy equipment operators who constantly and diligently groomed me to be a particularly exceptional driver. Not to mention, driving is pretty much a part of my DNA. Now, I realize that pretty much EVERYONE thinks they’re the “best driver in the world”, so that’s why I just let my record speak for itself... In the 19 years I’ve been driving, 8 of which have been behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler, and over 2 years as an Uber/Lyft driver in San Francisco, California, I’ve logged WEEELLL over 1 million miles (probably closer to 2 million by now) without a single accident, and only two speeding tickets. 😉

I’ve been taking that dose daily for about 6 months now, and while it’s not as “potent” as Adderall, Ritalin, or Vyvanse, it most definitely lasts a lot longer than any of them.
