Exploring Secret Abandoned Castle Tunnels Alone

The city of Šibenik, Croatia is surrounded by 4 fortresses; Ivana (Tanaja), Barone, St Michael, & St Nicholas (sea-fort). Beneath and around these fortresses are bunkers and tunnels from WW2, The Cold War, and even Austro-Hungary. I explored the tunnels near and directly beneath Tanaja to try to determine when they were built and their purpose. I also explore the picturesque cemetery of St Ana in search of the cities legendary escape tunnels.

A few things I've found out now and some corrections to be added: So the tunnels/ chambers are a WW2 German bomb shelter, however the bunker at the end is an observation bunker from the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1930s) along with what I thought could have been an Italian machine gun nest. This information is not readily available and after seeing the video I was corrected by a historian. The possibility remains however that there could have been a cave/ old tunnel or structure there before. As always, I do my best with the history here, but it's not always easy.

It does resemble one lol, and yeh bro Šibenik is really interesting. There are apparently long old tunnels from WW2 and possibly 17th century under the city. Shame that no one really cared about them, I don't think you can get in anymore but I'm not giving up yet lol.

Haha, he was an inspiration and I used to be but a bunch of stuff came out about him being a rap*st so that was dissapointing. I don't know how it works in Croatia, but would it be possible to ask the city for public plans of the city you can search for old tunnels? Might make your search easier if you have some reference materials. Also, the holes in the wall at 12:15 - 12:25 look suspiciously similar to the drill marks miners use to bore out a hole to place a charge into. To my unexperienced eye at least.

Doing anything like that in Croatia is next to impossible unfortunately, have to rely on mostly first hand accounts and just regular old ground work. I think I may have found the entrance to them but had to wait for the Christmas Fair to be over 😆 now it is but it's currently flooding so maybe not the best time to check. But I will check and update in the next week or so 🤙 Thanks for watching!

Šibenik archipelagois really is something. Crazy that you could walk afterwards entrance after all those Pelin and Vigor bombs; soon entrance may be covered by them 😂 Crazy that fortress is way older than White House; though yeah let's drop some vodka bottles there like it is trash. Though probably nowdays shelter for homeless.

A good thing you aren't claustrophobic, and young, agile enough to crawl through those tight places. Those holes seem to be drill holes for explosives.
