What if that "someone else" happens to be someone you love like your own child, significant other, parent, sibling or your best friend? Would you abandon yourself for their sake now? Would you do it if it was for the combined sake of literally everyone you love? I am not saying that you shouldn't love yourself. You definitely should but I think that it is possible to take the idea of self-love too far and into the territory of plain selfishness and narcissism and it's not obvious to me where to draw the line between the two.

Thanks! Definitely getting better at loving myself but that also means putting others down and walking away when you know you deserve better, sometimes we don't have to be the first one to be kind, especially when we are kind always, how about others be kind and respectful, show up and be present this time instead of hiding behind the scenes, give credit, give them what they deserve instead of putting them down, give them that promotion, that respect and credit they deserve, show them they are valued because that is what they need from you. Otherwise, walk away.

"I don't abandon myself for someone else", a great quote! We should make sacrifices when needed, help each other, and so on, but abandon one self is the same as suicide even if the body and mind still lives on. But what is the point of life if you abandon yourself?

I’ve recently found this channel and lately I’ve been binging all your videos. I definitely feel like I neglected self love in the past and even now I feel like dumb mistakes in my past take over my mindset some times rather than focusing on where I want to go in life. I definitely think it’s good to take time and get to know yourself such as who is the person you want to be and what your goals are but if you beat your self up all the time that can be hard to do. I guess it’s all about balance with self care and holding yourself accountable

This video on self-love is so inspiring and empowering! It's easy to get caught up in negative self-talk and self-criticism, but the tips you shared remind us that we deserve to treat ourselves with love and compassion. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on setting boundaries and saying no to things that don't align with our values and goals. Thank you for sharing this important message and helping us all work towards greater self-love and self-acceptance.

Such a good video! For me personally, the hardest part about setting your boundaries is when people make you feel bad about that. For example, I don't eat meat and the amount of time people in my family try to make me feel weird or bad about it is insane. But I've learned to stick to my moral compass, even if it results in not being understood oder being perceived as somewhat different. Thank god, my friends are totally different. Also, about saying no: I often feel selfish when I say no to doing smth "because I don't feel like it", because I know it would make the other person happy if I did said thing. I definitely say yes too often.

I appreciate the openness and kindness in the video. The thing is that not all forms of self loathing or lack of self worth stem from the same causes. Unfortunately, it's extremely difficult for people who were raised by abusive parents or caregivers who showed them verbally or through their repeated actions that they don't deserve to be loved. That they are unworthy and a problem. I know we all go through serious issues in life which shouldn't be minimized but when a child's first contact with this world is made with people who instead of offering or trying to offer stability and love to them, either neglect them, resent them or otherwise live in a chaotic or physically or emotionally unsafe environment, it leads to that child unconsciously absorbing that stress or trauma and thinking of the world as an unsafe place and having extremely low self esteem. I know it's important to work on ourselves but it's also important to acknowledge that for a lot of people, the root of the issue is tied to childhood wounds. It's extremely difficult to heal them. I wish peace and healing to everyone reading this. May all our physical and emotional burdens be eased.
