Lobster isn't expensive it's $6.99 at Walmart retail. Caviar is $6.99 at walmart. gold is $60 a gram so about $1.08 a sheet at .018 grams a piece. Restaurants usually sell at 333% of true cost at the very least and can get to thousands of percent especially with pasta which cost $0.50 for a big pack and rice which can cost 5 cents a serving or $17.98 for a 50 pound bag of rice or 150 pounds cooked. these are retail prices. companies may pay at half price of what we buy for all we know. *

To be fair I would probably be happy to eat _anything_ food outside her debunking videos. In this case, the ice cream, with a decent vanilla, fresh strawberries and a rich chocolate sauce made from a good chocolate, topped with roasted nuts and candied fruits fresh from the oven/pan so that they melt into the icecream would give me a foodgasm.

I know you probably don't understand restaurant economics, but every single person in the restaurant from the kitchenhand to the manager needs to be paid. Then you factor in rent, amenities, settings, furniture, music licensing, insurance, taxes and I hope you're starting to understand where I'm going with this. Restaurant economics state that each menu item must cost out at 1/3 or less of the sell price in order to make a profit. Any higher and the restaurant loses money. And that's why 90% of restautants close within the first six months. Not because of yelp reviews. Because food costs out at more than 1/3 of the price on the menu. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fapmpNeUl8WlgXU.html

Premium Edible Gold Leaf, of the brand she uses by the lo0ks of it actually, is roughly 35 USD for a book of 25 sheets. In other words, about 1.40 USD per sheet. It's actually a relatively inexpensive way to make any food seem high-class. As for the chocolates, they're relatively expensive for chocolate, but still not Bank-busting.

Honestly, the ice cream and chocolate ganache by themselves aren't that expensive to make, even with the overpriced luxury brand chocolate, and they make up the majority of the dessert, so if you wanted to splurge a little bit on fancy ice cream, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for someone to attempt, but yeah with all of the extra gold leaf and candies and stuff it's kind of out there for the average person to afford to make.

Wanting or needing something which is quite expensive that you "ain't got that kinda money for" then taking that bus to the 99 Cent Store (or Dollah Store depending on your city) and get what you need and make it work. Example: Roach Baits in NYC $10.99 for 4 baits that don't trap a thing. 99 Cent Store Brillo pads 12, stuff those bad boys in those tiny gaps ..Roach Be Gone (Ghetto Fabulous). That was just material cost though. The restaurant then adds in labor, an "atmosphere" charge (decor and feel of the dining area), then they add in their profit margin. Most things cost very little to make but when you factor in everything else that's when restaurants make money.

Fresh is the closest English sound to the French pronunciation. I haven't heard it pronounced much here in Australia, it's so heavy that it rarely sits well with our hot environment, so that's probably why people don't pronounce it properly. Looking at the spelling, it's easy to understand the confusion!

@anathemat-002

@@oksills Bruh what. The recommended daily calorie intake for women is 2,000 calories, and for men, it's 2,500 calories. That's for all the food they eat in a day. (Average men & women, of course. It can vary based on height, build, and pre-existing muscle mass, but generally not by a ton). You're anywhere from 100-600 calories over the daily limit on a single banana split my guy. No wonder the world has obesity problems.
