Carnivore is really working for you. You look so healthy, your skin looks amazing, your eyes are clear and your energy has changed, you seem more “Zen”, calm and grounded. That’s what I can see on the outside which is the outward manifestation of how you must be doing on the inside as well. I’m so glad to see your health in such a good place. Some good points, I'd throw in find yourself a healthy and open minded community. When I spend time with people who care about their health and the planet I find it gives me hope. I just got through my first 3 day dry fast yesterday, I mustered the motivation to go and have a dip in the cold river nearby in the morning. I've still got another 2 days on water. I've been reading Starving to Heal in Siberia, that woman was probably suffering from oxalate overload going by her dietary habits.

I think many people could benefit from these 6 tips if they take them to heart. Great advice, specially the mental ones. Not focusing on the constant what is in the present and what has happened in the past, looking towards what you want to do and just being grateful for what you have now in this moment and doing everything in your power to keep moving. May as well do whatever it takes since this is our one shot at this life. The what ifs will paralyze and waste months - years at a time. Love your attitude and vids as always Kasey!

Kasey, I think you covered everything, but I'm not sure I heard you mention sleep. Seems seven or eight hours is good for most people. Also (and this is recent news to me!), I keep hearing that you should drink something like seven glasses of water per day. Finally- eliminate 'stress'. When some stranger would piss me off, or if I thought I was going to be late for something, etc., (bills and so on), I would worry, perhaps be in a bit of a bad mood for hours, lose sleep, etc. Instead, I just think 'screw it', and let the other person carry the anger around, if they started an argument. If I drop something and make a mess, I just shrug, say "Oh well", and clean it up instead of being quite pissed off like I used to be; If I worry about a problem I have to deal with the next day (when I go to bed), I'll put it out of my mind and think about some nonsense, a nice memory, or something silly, and then that way I'll be able to deal with the actual problem much better once I've had a decent sleep.

3 drops of 5% Lugol's iodine daily is a LOT of iodine. I'm curious to see how this n of 1 turns out. A popular stay-at-home mom keto/carni KZfaq influencer was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism due to too much supplemental iodine-I should add that her main symptom was a fast heart rate. She was careful and didn't reveal how much she was taking and I think she pulled any videos about iodine supplementation but she did say 'drops'. Was it 2% or 5%? I don't know but I was up to 4 drops of 2% and had just started one drop of 5% daily when I shut that sh*t down. I did find when I started with Lugol's (TMI alert), breast tenderness I had had for years just went away and hasn't come back! It is wonderful. I'm on a break now and probably going back to 1 drop of 2% in a couple of weeks. I'll keep the 5% for water disinfectant purposes only now.

the thing about nutrients - the studies try to figure out how much iu's or grams or whatever a human body needs. But whats not taken into account is that people absorb only a part of a supplement - not 100% of it. And it varies person to person, and on what they've been eating, or if their stomach is empty, how fast food travels through the gut, how much the body can metabolize a highly concentrated capsule of 1 nutrient, etc etc. I've heard figures like 5%, 35%, 50%. But its not going to be 100%. If you take 5000 ius - you're not really absorbing 5000 ius. Some of it is going into the toilet.
@collapsingruins
@collapsingruins Ай бұрын
This new push for Overdosing: I fall for this stuff, in the last years too. Got me some strange problems. Can't be good. The ancient Greeks spoke of the Mesotes: The correct Aristotelian measure. Apart from that, nobody really knows anything about the amount of nutrients we need. What is definitely true is that supplementation doesn't really help because your body can't utilize isolated substances. Every plant contains other substances that are involved. If you detox regularly and take care of yourself and don't overload your body with the wrong foods (just because you can digest it doesn't make it food) you should be able to absorb the deficiencies in nutrients, even if they are few. I am thinking mainly of homeopathy, i comes with very small quantities.

I am not sure if Canada is as bad as the USA when it comes to poor diet but here fast food, junk food like Doritos dominate the scene. In small quantities maybe not too problematic but in daily massive quantities lead to obesity, diabetes, cancer and other serious illnesses. I personally am not on board with this carnivore fad but am on board with eating real, whole foods.
@teril.3485
@teril.3485 Ай бұрын
It's pretty much the same. A third or more of the aisles in any grocery store is dedicated to that junk. Half the products contain seed oils, the produce is also a concern for some (pesticides, Apeel, etc.) Fast food is everywhere. Some people do live on processed junk and fast food and rarely cook. Obesity and diabetes are quite common here, it seems everyone and their dog has diabetes. Cancer risk is like 1 in 3 people. Two members of my immediate family had/have it. (Mom has passed, sibling still fighting). My cousin as well but he's in remission. 3 other distant family members lost to cancer. Dad and step dad -- heart attacks, both still alive. I also know of one young woman who died of diabetic coma in her sleep.

His hair looks thicker. For now but like everything it might fall off again after he loses all his stored plant nutrition. Then he will start swinging the other way again. It's all about balance. Note Veggie Police is if you stay too long on Carnivore all your hair is going to turn fully gray then white.
