so my stepdad cut his arm very very badly when I was like seven it went through a plate glass window and he severed his artery. and it was in the middle of the night and I was up even though I should have been sleeping and I was about ready to go downstairs to complain that I couldn't sleep and then I heard my mom run up the stairs and get on the phone with 911. and I will never forget how calm she was and relaying the information about what had happened and I decided to stay in my room. and the next morning I woke up and my grandparents were there because my mom and step dad were at the hospital. and they were in the process of cleaning the kitchen. and then once my mom came home from the hospital that's when she lost it and got very upset and cried and was anxious and it all hit her. now I'm not saying this chick was innocent because clearly she was guilty but just saying someone was calm on 911 isn't always a sign of guilt.

that reminds me of another case where a mother is on death row for killing her two kids and people thought she was guilty bc she had a mini party for one of her kids birthdays at their burial after their murder, but i don’t think that’s weird? to celebrate your kids life and smiling doesn’t mean you committed the crime. granted it’s a very weird situation and it is hard evidence wise to NOT draw her as the perpetrator

Oh absolutely. There's plenty of people out there who can either force themselves to remain stoic in chaotic situations (often because they developed that as a response to trauma) or who take a while to get over the shock of things. If you feel comfortable saying, how'd your dad put his hand through a window in the middle of the night?

@@cocteautwin I don’t think it’s strange to have a mini party for your murdered child on their grave. You have nothing left of your child but memories, the date of their birth, and a gravesite. I think as a parent you will always celebrate or commemorate your child’s birth no matter what happens to them. One of my cousins was killed in a vehicular homicide this past year, and for his birthday a month later they threw a party to celebrate him. I know his mother, wife , and children had a very hard time that day but they just wanted to continue celebrating him and showing how much they loved him.

What I don’t understand is why the police immediately suspected her but didn’t do a gunshot residue test on her hands (was that a thing in 2005?) It would have been much more damning evidence earlier on, but it could have kept them from finding the gun how and when they did. And I assume she dumped the gun after she saw the property with the lake since she seemed so excited about it and then later was adamant about not wanting the lake, so maybe they could have found it wherever she was keeping it prior to it being dumped in the lake.

I was born and raised in Cameron, Tx. Every now and then you’ll hear people mention her and this case. Had family that graduated high school with her too. Whenever the part about the pond gets brought up, people always start laughing. Like “That dummy really thought they weren’t staking out her property?!” Heard a lot about how she was such a good person and they were just a good family all around. Then she had to go and ruin her family and children’s lives forever. Such a waste.

There are a few things I like to point out, but I'll stick with one because to this day I'll never forget. I heard a family member shot himself. It didn't sound like a "gun" shot at all. It sounded like something metal dropping like a tray dropping on the floor. It's always what I think of. It wasn't loud. It didn't make a big bang or anything. I heard it and another family member, but most of the family slept through it and never heard it. So I honestly can see how people could have slept through it. Also I sleep through gun shots often ( live in the country) but jolt awake to the slightest whimper from my baby when he was a newborn. 😅

When something traumatic happens everyone reacts in different ways. Even healthcare staff can go into deep shock and behave irrational (focusing on the wrong things instead of methodically do cpr and notify the police etc). Something traumatic happens and then there are 4 stages that all go through due to psychology (no one gets away from this because pf how the brain is wired). The 4 stages during and after trauma: 1 shock (here you have distrubutve, cardiogenic, obstructure and hypovolemic), 2 reaction (rational or irrational), 3 processing (here the person takes in and starts to deal with the thing that caused the trauma, 4 reorient is the final stage where the person has come out of the 3 previous stages and are setting up a new way of life (having to live with the trauma and finding ways to so so. For example people who might have lost a dear one might head into a charity that is tied to what their loved one dealt with etc). To understand the chock phase is very important and I appreciate that Hailey took this into consideration while discussing the matter (even though the wife turned out to be bat.... you know what).

I remember the time my child choked on a chip. I’ve been CPR/first aid certified for 15+ years, and I’ve had to use it on a child before, but when it happened to my own child I froze. @@AyshaLovesYou Absolutely! Everyone knows fight or flight, but people are less familiar with the other Fs of shock: freeze and fawn. Freeze is obvious and actually incredibly common, and fawn is when people try to treat their abusers/attackers kindly so they don't get hurt more. I'm probably not explaining it very well but it's very fascinating! I tend to freeze in most situations depending on what it is, but as a kid I used fawn to keep my abusers happy so they wouldn't get violent towards us.

I have a feeling you're right. The boy's are probably older these days than they had been when this occured. I'm just curious if they still have a relationship with their mother, & how her not taking responsibility for the fact plays into their interactions. Like is it just off the table to be talked about or do they believe her? Or what? I'm just nosey dammit! Edit: also how could she dislike her teeth? That was the first thing I noticed about her was "damn, those are some chompers, but very nice chompers indeed. I wonder if her method of murder was chomping the person to death?" I was somewhat disappointed that she infact just shot him in the head. So cliche.

This video doesn't even begin to tell the true story of this case. If you want all the facts check out the link below. She very well may have been sent to prison for something she didn't do kzfaq.info/get/bejne/frZmfJiBs9GxnJs.html
@maryannanderson2213

@@differentlydifferent I might believe she went to prison for something she didn't do if I hadn't seen the video of her poking around in the pond to find that gun. I just find that a rather difficult hurdle to get over. She said she went to look for it because "someone" told her the gun had been thrown in that pond but that doesn't explain why she didn't just pass that message on to the police or why she thought she should be the one to retrieve it or how she knew exactly where it was located in the pond.

She disliked her teeth BEFORE she had a lot of dental work done. She hated her teeth and took a job in a dentist's office so I'm sure he did a lot of work for her either totally free or at cost because she was an employee. And yes, he did great work because she ended up with beautiful teeth.

Honestly, I don't understand how someone committing a crime like that could be so dumb as to how she made up her story. Like, obviously, she shouldn't have done it and it was a horrible thing she did, but if she wanted to get away with it, she should have thought a little longer about all the inconsistencies.

As someone who lives pretty close to this area all my life, I have never heard this story, but, I believe Keith might have got tired of it and told her she needs to leave (so she slept in the boy's room), he was done he couldn't deal with it anymore. She didn't like that, she's not used to rejections and killed him. I mean, to me, it sounds that simple, just on the outside looking in, but maybe she did it because she wanted money and said "NO". I mean, I think this world today is messed up, It's been messed up it's just not getting better.
