Loving this whole series. If someone told me I would spend this much watching a docu series about Evergreen, I would have said not going to happen. But you have put so much effort into documenting these events and laying it out in such a way as to keep it in context. Thank you! Your work here is important.

Agreed- I remember watching some videos about this a long time ago and with current events I looked it back up and found this and I can not stop watching. I wish there were some interviews of some of the agitators and staff( not Bret but other staff that have moved on and the police lady and like the lunch room guy )😃 where are they now and how they feel now. This has now moved out to the streets.

@Douglemagne
@Douglemagne 3 жыл бұрын
The problem with body cams is custody of the footage. Body cam footage is abused by officials, released by all sorts of parties without cause, dropped at inconvenient times for political purposes or to inappropriately affect the outcomes of ongoing investigations and prosecutions, body cam footage is trimmed and cut by the media to deceive the public about what happened.... and all too often, the custodians of the footage are ACAB garbage activists themselves who hate the police and use the footage to demonize cops without any reason. I actually fought very hard to get body cams into many districts and spoke at policing technology conventions at length about them. The way they've been abused, however, makes me second-guess the whole concept. I still want the body cams, but I do NOT want the footage to be able to be released by bad actors in these manipulative manners. THat is not what I fought so hard to achieve.

Sadly, victimhood has become a status symbol.
@martingrundy5475
@martingrundy5475 4 жыл бұрын
Being the victim has become everything to some people. It is thier career, thier status, thier worldview and thier very soul and existence. These people re as or more swept up than the most fervent and fundamentalist, religiously indoctrinated individual. They view everything through a veil of thier own fantasy. It only has any relation to reality when it suits or is expedient. Lowe is an utterly delusional, totally lost, wilfully ignorant, ideologue of the absolute worst kind. In Evergreen she found a place where they would not just take her delusional, divisive ranting seriously. But where she would be encouraged and even held aloft as a leader. Of course, being the low IQ, clueless, ignorant, delusional, fat bint who simply MUST be loaded with more issues than simply race. She couldn't help herself. She got totally carried away, went barking mad and over the top entirely. Quite the achievement at Evergreen. I was going to say at a place like Evergreen. But I'm not to sure there is anywhere comparable. We have created now a whole industry and careers built on victimhood, diversity and equity. Whole companies, businesses, consultant and these days any even reasonably large company simply has to have a fucking HR dept. Which is one o the largest employers of tools who do those kind of degrees. The gender/race and grievance studies courses. It is a self reinforcing or positive feedback loop. It is increasingly encouraged from the bottom and imposed from the top by these types who have managed positions of power. It now works it's way down, through academia, the media, services, the Government.

I've been saving monologues while going through the series. This one is a nice piece of projection. @ 5:22 (Pt.7) "We still have these issues we need to deal with. And they are very deep issues. And because we keep, sort of averting our gaze, um, those issues remain, sort of stay entrenched in who we are. Because we are afraid to look at them. Because they are very scary, and very kind of terrible".

Candy, true. They have to stay in a constant self imposed state of trauma, in order to feel "normal". If they were to let that GO, who would they be? They don't know, because they don't know themselves very well, and don't seem to want to.....thus, the blame on everyone else for any "negative" feelings they feel. It CAN'T be them, and they won't allow those thoughts. (Constant projection) I've known a couple people who were like this, and they were constant "victims". But, underneath, were mean and vindictive towards anyone who wouldn't "play along" in their victim life. Both were women, sorry to say. Strangely both were incompetent in their work and relationships because their entire focus was on "themselves", and how others hurt them. Not how they might be hurting someone else, which they did.

I think she became bizarrely emotionally attached to the two young men - even though they were criminals they fit the narrative of unarmed people of color victimized by police. And it's almost like she felt a kind of surrogate mother thing for them. Or like she somehow thought they were her students. As far as I know she had no connection or responsibility for them. But she decided she did. Honestly I think it's a way for her to become the ultimate SJW in the BLM scene. The best feather in her cap. Her big break in some way. But I think it actually got to her. Because she is wrong. The cops weren't wrong. Maybe what those guys did - stealing some beer didn't warrant death - but that didn't mean the police were wrong either. And that wrecked her.
@farapipsqueek636

I realize this is 8 months late I think that Naima Lowe experience any, or most, disagreement with her as racism. And she has said she experiences Whitre Lives Matter as violence towards her. Her perceived trauma Is real - I am just not sure if the racism she perceived is a tually there. It could be, or maybe people don't like her. Or maybe it is a combo of dislike exacerbated by racism. I know she interviewed her dad about being beaten by the police, so I think she is afraid of the police because of that. And yeah, maybe be wise her ancestors lived as slaves, she dislikes white people, I don't know. But I will say this: my grandparents survived WW2 in Russia, while their whole families were killed. No one survived - and my mother grew up in post war Poland until she was 12. I grew up planning escapes from Nazis, even though I kinda knew that never happened in the US. But I had made a plan. I do not hold Polish people responsible for what their grandparents did. It is not their fault. I find it terrifying that Naima and some of her fellow activists are asking white people to pay for their ancestors crimes. And many of the white protestors probably didn't even have family in the US at that time.

My question is this, am I allowed to judge an entire race based on my experience with an individual? I'm unsure of how the phrase "in my experience" holds any merit for anything. "In my experience mental illness is a dangerous attribute for college professors", yet here we are. (Edit) Ok I'm sorry I tried not to get personal but I do believe that there is a correlation involved here. Naima Lowe has certain physical and mental attributes that have to be recognized I believe as part of her narcissism. Please do not view this as just an angry person trying to be nasty but rather a person trying to understand a mind that is seriously damaged. 1) Naima Lowe is overweight and exercise creates endorphins and endorphins make you happy. 2) Naima Lowe has no principles. She contradicts herself quiet often because she doesn't believe anything that she is saying only saying what she believes benefits her when it's said. 3) Naima Lowe appears to have low self-esteem. The reason I can tell is because she cannot be challenged on her beliefs. If she feels challenged she will immediately resort to a position of authority to try to shut down your argument before something can be said that she may actually have to think about. 4) Naima Lowe is a racist. You can make up all the definitions that you want but it doesn't make them true. She is under the impression that every White person in the world is evil with bad intentions and every Black person is misunderstood with good intentions. 5) At best she has Narcissistic personality disorder and at worst she is a psychopath. Naima Lowe used feeble minds in order to gain personal power and eventually a nice lawsuit while her minions have ruined not only the good name of their University but by extension their degrees, which were not free. My question for any student who bought into this is simply this: Is your life better or worse for having met Naima Lowe?
@nolanalexander8696
@nolanalexander8696 2 жыл бұрын
Human will judge more or less, its the part of learning other people, experience. As the interaction goes by, we will surprised that the judgement is often fail. The main thing is to be elaborate, or at least eloquent in expressing the judgement. Lowe by the extend of her actions incites more hatred and kinda "pre-supposition" for other people. Its like when you met someone that similar in several attribute: voice, body shape, skin color, you will re-enact the memory of listening to Lowe. Its humane. But to follow that judgement is a mistake.

I've been waiting for this! Thank you gorgeous! 😀 I find that if you change all of the times someone says 'white' or 'whiteness' to 'black' or 'blackness', this opening becomes ludicrously racist... strange that... this whole story reminds me of that quote "I use emotion for the many and reserve reason for the few"

Did you notice that in subsequent reporting they always mentioned the beer that they _didn't_ get away with, and nobody says anything about the fruit he went back for and successfully stole? Never, ever say anything that doesn't fit the narrative, right? Even if it's a proven fact, it's too much of a PC hot button. To me, it's evidence that they had little fear of being caught or punished. After being caught committing a crime, they lingered outside for a few seconds and even took the time to go back and pilfer produce.

I'm always perplexed by the civilian review board idea. Why should Police be the only profession where your performance is judged by someone with zero training and experience in the field and who are often openly hostile to the profession? If you wanted someone to evaluate the performance of the mechanic repairing your transmission would you as the mechanic want a barista with no auto training who is an enviro activist deciding the fate of your job? It's insanity....

Their salary is paid by tax payers. I'm not for the review boards, but they're not the same as a mechanic.
@ericshuty2564
@ericshuty2564 4 жыл бұрын
@@SpergleberryFarm Two things: 1) you pay your mechanic as well. Just because one is paid directly and one indirectly through taxes is irrelevant. The example remains relevant. I'm sure that you would not take your car to a shop in which who was punished and promoted, training standards, etc, were dictated by a panel with no automotive experience whatsoever. 2) I am not against civilian oversight in principle. However every oversight group I have ever seen was filled with activists and former defense attorneys with no training and experience whatsoever. No former cops. No firearm or tactics instructors. Thus, my opposition to them as currently practiced....

The board should be made up of police not involved with the particular jurisdiction of the officers in question, the officers should have long careers in actual policing, age range 35+ minimum ten years. The specifics can be sorted by people who know more but the gist is there.

Easy, it’s already been underway. It involves coaching gay men to sexually interact with the vaginas of straight women who call themselves gay men and giving up gay men’s representatives for NUS and even formerly gay organizations. Denigrating gay men and women is very popular on the left; you simply have to preface your insults with “white cis” even if what you’re talking about has nothing to do with race or trans issues.

@@metaphoricdirigible1499 so true. When will the majority of gay men wake up about this. We have a transactivist lauded in the UK who said he/she thinks 'most gay men actually want to be women'. It is woke gay conversion tactics. Horrifying.
