Soulmates - it sounds so romantic. Yet this common belief in finding "the right one" has a surprising dark side.

I am 52m, never married and no children. This is not meant to sound conceited, but the most important person you need to love is yourself. Be interesting to yourself and always know your self worth. Embrace being happy as a single person; it is there inside you -- you just have to go find it. There is no reason why you cannot be just as happy (or even happier) alone than with another person! I think more and more people are finding this out as there has been a sharp rise in single, never married and childless adults in our time.

A person with integrity that won’t up and leave.

A person of integrity can leave during dating. When it comes to marriage, though, then that’s against God and they will face the consequences of their actions.

@@EmilyGloeggler7984 Correct. In my situation, it’s my husband that abandoned me.

Soulmate is an illusion.

Actually it’s inverse. Having multiple loves is a toxic and dangerous illusion. I fell for the same trap as this lady denies and I’m glad I escaped it. :)

I can see and hear the pain and turmoil your ex caused in you. I too have been through basically the same relationship with my ex so I know that look of pain and confusion. Set mine and your ex’s up for a date and I’ll buy the popcorn. Would love to see that show….! Hope this finds you in a better place on your journey

Nope, never believed in it. I always hoped to meet someone with the same sense of humor. Laughing together will solve a whole passel of problems, or at least make it more tolerable. (themetabug of old).

Humor and curiosity are two traits that definitely help when the going gets tough!

What if they're simply mirroring you during these seemingly intimate, hilarious moments... If you're with a narcissist, the only real intimacy was on your part alone.... it may have felt like you had a soulmate-type connection but their definition of soulmate isn't the same as yours! 🙏

Don't exist

@Isabella people don't think longer term and how their bad/toxic side will drag them down. Just of the love drug. Wake up, if they're good, honest, hardworking then they shouldn't give you the idea to break up with them. Communication is 🔑

@@lakersrdbest Actually it’s not. Read the Bible for real truth. I’m glad God set me free from that toxic ex suitor as you described. I moved on and met my soulmate - my husband Frank.

Honestly, when I dumped an ex suitor who did mutually treat me well, was faithful, loved, respected, and shared beliefs and goals and we even wanted to marry each other - I fell for the same trap and lies as this lady promotes. However, I realized after reading the Bible that I only have one life to live and I have no interest to marry more than one man in my lifetime. So I was particular about who was going to be my potential husband. What you claim as finding as someone to grow with. - that toxic myth. Thanks be to God - I realized that that ex I was not going to make my husband. I realized I don’t want many people who could work for me because the truth is there actually isn’t any and I have no interest to have many. Eleven years later, I moved on and met the one man who I chose to be my husband and we are committed. What God brings a biological man and biological woman together in marriage, let no one tear asunder. My husband is my soul mate. I’m so glad I personally escaped what you did not recognize as the trap. You claimed that when they grow with, respect, love, etc is better and you couldn’t be more wrong. That danger I’m so grateful to God that I escaped and am free with my only one man. I don’t want or need a bouquet to dip in. I only want one and I’m glad I found the one. Thanks be to God. Now if your spouse divorces you, God will hold them accountable, as well as you if either of you decide to remarry. Of course atheists don’t like that tough truth but sooner or later, they will realize it.
