Any signage that restricts an activity and purports to have the weight of the law or statute behind it it MUST make written reference to the piece of legislation that prohibits such activities. It's that simple. Any other without is completely bogus.

@@Neil2022 Trespass is a civil matter and doesn't require reference on signage because it refers specifically to private land or property. Let me clarify. Any signage that tells says you can't do something in, on or over public land must reference either the current bylaw or piece of legislation that specifically restricts it like the old 'No Ball Games' signs you sometimes saw on small pieces of publicly owned land.

On the jetliner front, what about people that own property in the flight path to Heathrow? The planes are low enough to be a nuisance. Far more of a nuisance than a toy drone. There's no logic at all to the rhetoric of these security guards. Which is to be expected, as G4S employ their staff on the basis of how cheap they are. And not on the basis of how clear thinking they are.

Good point. If you think about the risk, you’ve got hundreds of jets overflying your house, with possibly tens of thousands of litres of jet fuel on board and millions of parts that could fail. Then you’ve got a 250g drone with 4 electric motors and a controller.

It's not as easy as you might think, getting a job at G4S, not only do you need to write your name down on a piece of A4 paper (and you're not allowed to use both sides), you then have to find your way out of the room afterwards.

Shades, while misinformed about drone law, still managed to remain polite and friendly and willing to debate and engage as sensibly as his training allowed. Thats what i was thinking aswell when i watched this video, that there was a old lady walking her dog in the middle of know where and she was on her own aswell which its not safe in my opinion, and its a nuclear site WTF, i was thinking surely there are plenty of other green areas around that she could walk her dog and be near people, it stood out to me as odd lol.

Its a site of scientific interest and the lanes are nice and quite to walk along , there are footpaths that traverse the heathland too , so a good place for dog walkers .But if you are photographing wildlife there these goons will stalk you in the van .

You are in my neck of the woods DJE . had these clowns following me about just for photographing wildlife along the lane . decontamination has been in progress for a few years . the radiation is still high so there are limited to how long they can work in the structure . Surprisingly there are frogs living in the standing water . Hoping you have done the BP refinery at wytch farm too .

You've been getting some stick on the chat of tonight's Geeksvana video. A good video, by the way, with a couple of very interesting case studies regarding drone offences and subsequent prosecution. One pilot flying his drone at 1500' and another pilot crashing into the stage at a Fat Boy Slim beach concert. Two very good examples of unsafe, unlawful and incompetent drone pilots. A stark contrast to your nice, safe, lawful, afternoon out with your flying camera.

G4S - the company that lost prisons. If the site is De-Commissioned, the risk is lower than before. 4 security guards means there's little to secure and little to nick. Don't waste your time speaking with a guard who knows nothing but thinks he's more important that you.

I'm not sure I agree on the "National Security Act 2023" in relation to "prohibited place" as it says "for a purpose prejudicial to the UK" which I take to mean as a armchair lawyer to mean "to do so with the purpose of malintent". This particular site is designated by the SoS under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act, but that only makes explicit provision for trespass, although such sites are usually also designated no fly zones but the CAA.

It shows how bad things are when G4S is contracted to guard a nuclear installation. Most people wouldn’t let them guard a cold cup of tea ! Sadly there is a lot of conifer forestry around this site. The Dorset heathland was destroyed to grow some poor quality timber. Hopefully it will be restored one day. Another good one DJE

Its sad that i quite liked the g4s chap. He was only reasonable and asked relevant questions but because he was reasonable, it made me like him. There’s a NOTAM in affect from 29-1-24 til 18-4-24 due high intensity radio transmission… high risk area… from 0 to 536ft lots of detail on the restrictions I’m afraid 🙄 what tends to happen (before the restrictions are active) all warning signs go up telling people they can’t fly and even drone assist app will start uploading notams before start date. Happened with new restrictions for prisons where apps showing increase on perimeter by 400m! This started around 25-1-24 and is official law now that there is an additional 400m perimeter increase restriction in place for prisons . One other thing don’t trust DJI mapping it’s usually slow to update restrictions on your drone I always check Coverdrone altitudeangel and alike as far more accurate and uptodate - don’t get caught out.

Thanks.. the thing is we have to make it sustainable. Dj audits is an expert at this. The ability to do a video per day. If you do that with police you'll lose your stuff in no time. Or have random trumped up charges. Its a fine balance. Dj is very smart about this. I like DJ and AB I don't watch others. I don't have time tbh. I do watch Charlie also ..
