In the same franchise, Vin Diesel went from being some guy racing cars on the streets of Los Angeles to being a super agent saving the world from annihilation. That is awesome.

This movie is just so absurdly fun. Go with friends and enjoy the euphoric feeling you get when witnessing the ridiculousness of the action pieces. Yes, it's dumb, but I think this entire franchise has enough charm and self-awareness where you can get behind it. It's a B+ for me personally.

Funny you said that about the Italian job. Way back when they were planning a sequel for the Italian job which was titled the Brazilian job. That never happened for many reasons but the script was used to make a different movie which is fast five

The best thing about this movie is that John's review said "over the top" so many times, I now want to watch Over the Top. I've been done with this franchise for a long time. I've only ever liked the first one.

I absolutely did not get the same vibes as Batman v Superman except for him basically using his own back as protection against Martha / the baby. I think it worked a lot better in this movie. "WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?!?!?!"

actually that remote control car army scene is one of the most realistic things in the movie if not all the movies. the evil police of America can remote shut down your car if its a new enough model, and even then if someone wanted to that definitely CAN be done.

I was surprised by how much I liked this movie, went into it expecting the worst and got a really over the top entertaining action flick! Rock and Statham need a spinoff asap!

They had a few nods to Paul Walker's Brian in the movie. Movie was an A though. Seeing as how cars with the autodrive function can be hacked, it didn't take me out of the scene, it made me think "This is why autodrive is bad" :p

Fast 9 has pretty much already been confirmed to happen, Fast 10 might actually be a thing as well, if you can believe that, and that's where they will hopefully end the franchise

7.0/10 from me! I pretty much loved the adrenaline of the first half, but did feel it dragged a ton in its ever-so-lengthy third act. Loved the Rock and also enjoyed Diesel throughout too!
