@@saulw6270 Bro calisthenics isnt just planche, muscle ups, Front Lever, Handstand Push ups, One arm Pull up, 3 Clap Push up, Human Flag…. Nobody started like that If you are taller your muscles are also stronger If you are fat calisthenics are also very good Australian pull ups, Dips with resistance bands and Pull ups Push up on Wall, then on table, and then get lower and lower till you can do normal ones I couldnt do one Pull up in January and literally yesterday I did my first muscle up I could do barely 7-8 push ups in a row last October now I do full range of motion push ups on parallets and can do like 40 in a row I was skinny but also for fat people there is a lot of things to do… Calisthenics simply needs a lot more discipline bro but when you really do it CONSTISTENTLY regardless of how you feel and of course also take care of your diet then you will be a beast if you do calisthenics as a fat guy or a tall guy Im neither of both but there are many examples for that Most important thing is to keep in mind that results take time and you need to be consistent bro

As a taller dude I'm going to hit the gym with free weights. Not bothering with the calisthenics crap. I've tried again and again and my joints fail before my muscles so it isn't effective for hypertrophy for me. Free weights are just better for most people. Pushups are much harder to go to failure on than benching or a chest fly machine

keep in mind he is genetically stronger for his weight, not all tall people who train calisthenics will ever get to his level. Its like after doing pushups for a year, my first bench PR was 105 at 125lbs bodyweight. I then had a friend who only plays soccer, never lifted in his life, and he benched 140lbs first time in the gym at 140lbs bodyweight. So I benched 0.84x my bodyweight after also having good technique as I already have been in the gym longer, while my man who never trained, had shit form, benched his bodyweight. Just being realistic, if your above 6’0, the chances of you ever doing a planche is much slimmer than someone who is 5’9.

Body weight exercises are always gonna be harder for heavier people. That’s just a fact. However, I think body weight exercises are better for heavier people than light people. The heavier weight you lift, the more muscle AND strength gains you’ll get. Just start with progressions. Don’t try to be a hero and start with a push-up. Start on your knees, or on stairs, or on the wall. If you start on the wall, you’re not actually at a slow start. You’re still gaining strength and muscle. If someone skinny does wall pushups, they’ll gain barely anything. If a fat does wall pushups they’ll start feeling their triceps. Fat people have 10x the potential when it comes to calisthenics.

I originally started going to the gym and lifting weights until abt a year in I wasn't allowed to go anymore bc I'm apparently "too young." That said, I turned to the most convenient solution possible: calisthenics. It was hard at first and I'm underweight so that meant I was REALLY weak. But now after a couple months I'm definitely better than where I was before (now I'm 5'3", still skinny, and still underweight)

Don't let him discourage you, he doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm 265 pounds 6'0 feet, my weighted dip is 4 plates shoulder to bar range of motion, 100 pounds weighted chin-up with chin over the bar and starting from a full hand, my squat is 473lbs using kilogram plates with high bar position, and ass to grass. I haven't even been training for a full two years yet either, my two years lifting journey is September 27th 2023

maybe i ll have a bad opinion but weightlifting is superior to calisthenics in genera, nothing can beat heavy weight training with a barbell , dumbells or machines , best results i ever had , tried calisthenics when i was lighter didn't work that much and i have bad muscle building genetics.

It’s not necessarily a bad opinion per se but it’s more of an ignorant saying , since calisthenics can definitely be equal to weightlifting but you must keep in mind just like weight lifting you gotta progressively overloaded by changing the variations of whatever movements you are doing and in your case you must’ve not trained with the same intensity required that you have done with weightlifting, and one thing that calisthenics has over weightlifting is the carryover such as doing planche work can improve your planche and give free gains to the bench press but it’s not the same in reverse with bench press only improving bench.
