First, there are many great singers and i know only one will win. The most powerful and authentic voice of the night was when Emmy shakingly stood and sung her soul out with a song she wrote that she personally endured, with minimal makeup, tshirt, torn up jeans and barefoot. Making no pretenses. Even Kako gave her a standing ovation as well as Kateys facial expression on a short moment the camera's captured her. You could tell she was touched,

Jack was totally in his lane singing Feeling Whitney. That has a folky laid back vibe to it that you are describing. If he sticks to that, he could very easily win. You accurately explained why his personality is appealing and makes him likable. He seems very relaxed and like an easygoing guy.

Jack is great. He's a breath of fresh air. His expressive eyes and eyebrows add to his performance. He has an easy to listen to and very recognizable voice. He's brings a little happiness to us and he has a great sense of humor, humility, and attitude. He is genuinely appreciative of the judges comments. He is consistently spot on with great performances. That's why.

Jack fills my space with sunshine, confidence, stability, some real fun with a great voice and technique. Will he win? I dunno, given the powerhouse women who are amazing, but I'm loving Jack and want him to stay. We'll see, but I think he's got a good career coming.

Jack is my favorite followed by McKenna. I think all of his songs have been excellent although I wasn’t a huge fan of his Croce choice. Yet his original he auditioned with is awesome and not what I’d call a feel good song. I like the control he has over his voice and the subtle choices he makes. I’d say he sings old folk style tunes. I hear some blues influence as well. Lionel nailed it when he called him a storyteller. I really look forward to what he does next. Hope he does more original work.

I don't necessarily have a favorite this season, but it's amazing to see that so many of them have a clear path to winning the whole thing. Typically, I'd say there's like 2-3 contestants that can, but there's honestly more than a handful this season.

Agree that the smiling is a distraction and contradicts the sadness of the lyrics. But I sense Kayko’s repetitive smiling is actually a facial tick - a physical habit - that Kayko is unaware of. I think he just smiles a lot mostly as a result of a nervous or personality quirk. But his facial expressions need to match his lyrics!!!

I really appreciate how you speak on Jennifer Jeffries. I aaaaam her fan and get that her voice isn't typical and for me, that's part of the appeal. I also find her grounded way of existing to be magnetic.

exposure. Connections are nice but a lot of people have connections. The business is insane. There are MANY really good singers with connections who cannot really make a living off of singing.

All of the church male singers are not voted in. Reminded me of 3 divas - Fantasia/LaToya/JHud. They split the votes. Both Jayna and Nya were not voted in too. Also foreigners Mckenzie (UK) and Jordan (Aus) has no voting bloc. Idol voters can be predictable. A contestant needs a Hometown vote and a Home State to win.

Might be just me but I’m tired of all the church songs that get sung on AI. Being agnostic I can hear some of it but a lot of it makes me tune out, especially if I get the sense that I’m being preached to. I got that vibe from Abi in her Hawaii performance and since then I haven’t been interested in her as much.

think the top three at this point are Will Mosley, Tristan, Harper, and Kayko. Then, Jack blocker, Mia Matthews, Mckenna, Kabrienne, Jayna Elise I think Clark, you should coach Jennifer Jeffries (now that she's off the show). Her voice/texture are really unique and classic and she strikes me as the AI Contestant most in need of some vocal coaching to really finesse her performances. I actually prefer the female singers this season by a lot but the voting audience is primarilly young girls so I think my picks are more likely to be finalists.

I am not a country music fan but I can see Will Moseley winning the whole thing. He is seamless. It just doesn't feel like I'm watching a singing competition when he's performing. I also see Jack as a dark horse. Sad to see Odell leave. Roman surprised me last night. He gained my attention. Too much talent this season. It's a popularity contest from here to the end.

I really like Emmy. It's awesome to see her finding the person she is . She is more than Loretta Lynn grand daughter. She's so much more of her own person and she's becoming more confident and not as meek. Her identity was always Loretta Lynns grand daughter. I think she is getting more comfortable in her own skin. I don't know if she will win American Idol. There's so many awesome singers and a few are better in my opinion. I've been voting for her.

The fact that Quintavious, Roman, Ajii, Odell, Nya, and Jayna didn’t get put through by America is VERY suspicious and makes me want to stop watching the show altogether if this is just gonna be white/country idol

And very Christian. It sort of feels like no other belief system matters to this show. Also I was suspicious with them getting rid of Ziggy. I sensed the producers didn’t want to have a member of the LGBTQ community so as not to offend the white Christian base that is likely their main audience. It is no wonder this show is struggling to keep a large enough audience to survive. And that is why they paring it down with massive cuts.

@@bearnpici I thought of that too, but as someone who is both Christian and an LGBTQ+ ally it really pains me that so many so called Christians decide to use the religion as a hate source. And you’re right, seemingly no other religion matters. Can’t remember the last time we got a segment about how someone Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, or any other religion is important to someone. But then the 3 POC people who sing church type music are all eliminated, showing the hypocrisy of the voters. Used to it felt like anyone could win the show, it doesn’t feel the same anymore. Other reality competition shows like Survivor have been able to get over this diversity hump recently it sucks to see this show can’t do the same.

Agreed I would have saved both of them. Odell was a Platinum Ticket Holder who didn't have a bad performance, slayed his top 20 performance and his wildcard performance. Same with Ajii whom the audience was cheering for after his performance last night. I am shocked that the judges didn't hear the audience screaming Ajii's name.

I totally agree with you about Kayko! I think he feels a little awkward and doesn't know what to do with himself... but I can't reconcile the playful vibe and dancing with the profound, emotional words of this song. It feels like someone singing in the cast of Glee. I mean, we know he must be connected to these lyrics, considering that he wrote them. Thus, I'm super confused why he appears completely disconnected when he performs it. That incongruence just makes me uncomfortable. He's got a lot of potential, but he needs to hone his craft a bit.

Really surprised they didn’t save Ajii or MacKenzie (appeared to be huge fan favorites?!) Mia pulls me in every time; there is something soulful-soothing about her delivery. Loved Kaibrienne’s Zombie! Agree that Kayko’s bouncing around the stage and smiling didn’t really flow w/those lyrics. As opposed to Emmy, who was fully entrenched in hers. So glad they saved Jayna! Did she remind anyone else of Whitney Houston in the Bodyguard in that fabulous sparkly outfit?! She’s a powerhouse. I don’t even remember her singing last year; I just remember her being really caring to the other contestants. Glad she’s back & crushing it 🎉

Kayko is my favorite because his music is something I will (and now have) listened to outside of the show. We are seeing who he is and what he will be outside of the show since he sings his own songs. I'm really bad about liking someone on the show but once they have music out, just not feeling it.

I didn’t like how the judges commented on the people who were in danger. Some of the responses felt very much like they were clearly not going to save them, and some were clear that they were going to save them. Made me feel like it was rigged again.

Hey Clark, just so you know, when watching your premier, the like button is not on the phone screen when I’m following the live chat. If I exit the chat to hit like, I get kicked out of the chat and have to exit the video and join again to access the chat. Might be why your premiers don’t get the likes you would expect. Also, if we follow your link to the q and a, that takes us out of that video with no opportunity to hit the like button.

I think they should change the voting format because America gets it wrong every time. They should let the judges pick the bottom 3 or 4 and let America vote to save who they want. The better singers would stay like they should.

@@yxuen3051 sadly, this was really apparent to me. I don't think it comes from a nefarious place, but rather that POC just don't make up most of the watching and voting audience. This just isn't a show that they watch -- it doesn't appeal much to them, thus there isn't that support from people who primarily listen to the type of music these contestants sing. When the watching demographic is mostly young yt girls, that is who will dominate the voting.
