Used to play the pokemon TCG a ton as a kid, went and bought some packs recently and might try the digital game as a result. What's cool about it in comparison to HS is how hyper synergistic decks can be, like this one- you only have a few 'minions' and the entirety of the deck is in support of their attunement with each other. I've been getting back into the TCG more recently, so if this content ends up being worthwhile for you, I'll look forward to seeing more

Wow, the power creep is real. When I used to play this game 50 health was a lot for a basic pokemon and now you've got abilities doing over 100 damage.

I’ve never played the pokemon tcg but I have a small stack of cards from a while ago (I love my dragalge card :)) was kinda interested in learning the game but was kinda off put by the cost of the game and the scalpers, is it worth using this online version that I had no idea existed to learn?

Its really cheap to play online, I just bought 100 packs for 11 dollars the other day. You have to go to third party cause theres no way to spend directly in game, the packs come from code cards in real packs (I use ptcgostore). They also just give you tons of free cards periodically. Pokemon is probably also the cheapest irl card game. Most meta decks end up in the 40-60 dollar range to build from scratch, and the outliers are like 80-90. Not to say everyone can justify spending that on a deck, but comparing it to things like Lorcana and MtG where you cant expect to build a good deck for less than multiple hundred, its pretty cheap.

Haven't played PTCG since online was replaced by live, how difficult is live to build a collection in? F2P friendly?

It ports over your ptcgo collection and uses the same code card system. They also just unload heaps of the new cards on you every set.

While I do enjoy the pkm content, it'll take me a bit to work through it as it doesn't hold me as well as HS or mtg would. I'm sure it'll be good though. Hope some other folks enjoy it as well.

38:38. They displayed. They should have waited on putting video on down. They already had an energy I’ll discard. They could have put on down to get a pity and the other energy they had they could’ve used on Levon to retreat it. They probably still would’ve lost, but I would’ve tried that before. Doing it the way they did, I would’ve quit trying to take prizes and try to have run you out of cards using instant charge each time and penny up each one you hit. I play a lot of control and with you only hit 180. This should have been an easy game for a control player though it would’ve been a challenge you possibly could’ve won it but I’m afraid if they had knew what they were doing they could have run you out of cards.

I really liked the way you were presenting and explaining what was happening, but since I'm so unfamiliar with the subject matter, it wasn't really able to grab my attention all the way through. I'll considder having this run in the background later, but fir now, Pokemon isn't what catches my interest.

I understand the explanation of the cards for the non PTCG audience, but for someone like me who does know what every card does and how it interacts from being an active player, hearing a lot of the gameplay muddled with card description reading took away from some of the classic marshie commentary. great video regardless, especially not alienating non-Pokemon players!

Power equals more risk..fare. although the game is slower compared to other card games. That is what I like about Pokemon tcg it's beginner friendly. It holds your hand throughout the match.
