The greatest obstacle for many people on the spiritual path is dealing with unconscious people. But it shouldn't be a problem because even people on the spiritual path have the wrong mindset for dealing with other people. I will explain a state of being one must abide in when dealing with the world.

I always like your videos, and I try to always leave a comment as well, because I love this channel, and more people need to know that there is a different way to live. Imo, the ego, and the false sense of separation it creates, is at the root of all of humanity's problems, both on the individual and collective levels. Even science, especially in the discipline of quantum physics, has now born out the truth that we're actually very connected both with other people and our environment, and with the quantum field in general. I guess when you know that, it's increasing your feeling of responsibility for what you send into that field. ✌❤🔥👁🙏

You are misunderstanding the quote. It is about no "I" not about no others. If there is no "I" then there is Brahman alone. Let me guess, you are a westerner who tries to sound profound and can't listen and learn? A lot of Ramana followers become dogmatic and don't have any flexibility. Why can't you listen with a purely transparent contemplative mind?

One thing I came to realise over the years is that while it's easy to judge people for being 'asleep', we're all asleep to some degree, but about different things. So for example when I was thrown unceremoniously on to my spiritual path in 1988, one of the first illusions to be shattered was that of my (British) national myth, along with medical 'science'; western religion quickly followed. However, I still encounter people who have made great strides in their journey, are awake to many things but are unable to let go of their national myth or their religion. So when I feel the urge to judge someone, I always ask myself what it is that I've failed to see.

I love this video, it addresses an everyday issue. Yes, when we don't engage with the drama which someone is telling us about, we are not responding as they would like, and they may drift away towards others. If they do come back, it might mean we have listened with sympathy, compassion, yet detachment. Listening is one form of service to others, so long as we retain our own integrity and know our own boundaries. Any suggestions we may have as to their unwise behaviour must be put forward with tact and sensitivity as they view a listener as a safe space who won't correct them. This is an everyday issue which I find of interest to practice consciously, thus turning it from an irritant into an adventure.

Nameste Jason. I can totally relate to being reactionary to those who are asleep, spiritual speaking. Not only one on the spiritual path deals with the remaining aspects of the Jiva. On also deals with the influence of religion's dogma. You hit the nail on its head by saying, " We must demonstrate compassion."" If one is truly growing on the spiritual path; one understands we all are Atman and Brahman. Understanding our interconnectedness cultivates compassion.

Everyone is spirit, thus on a spiritual path. Even if they don't know it. Forget the details simply be open hearted and present in your dealings with everyone. While I generally agree with your message, it is also vital to be discerning. Discernment tends to be overlooked and the term judging is used instead. Discernment allows one to guiltlessly avoid harmful people such as narcissists, whereas if you feel you are being judgmental, then you feel some guilt that you should suffer fools gladly so as to be a nice spiritual person. So instead of living in a spiritual pink bubble one must be aware that there are evil people in this world.

When was it mentioned that the Jiva was a villain? Jason is speaking about the technical aspects of consciousness. As a Indian I find it strange to read how westerners misinterpret what he says. I know most westerners are new to Indian knowledge but just listening to Jason can help. Another thing the Jiva finds such knowledge threatening maybe that is why your Jiva reacted?

Well, almost all of us have had the experience of being disappointed or worse with other people. Getting angry over that reality does no one any good. Indeed, getting that upset over the unawakened just shows that we still have a ways to go on our path, and that should be the focus. Don't repress anger, but don't hold onto it. Anger poisons US, not the person(s) with whom we're angry. Good talk. Namaste, J ,& G!! Hope you have a blessed day. ✌❤🔥👁🙏

Great Piece I am in that place where my ego can still be activated and I am not connected to being the witness - by yes family and also toxic people who havents become more aware yet Its cyclical - sometime I am really good at being the witness of myself - but at other times not so I accept the cyclical nature of it I love it when I use the bad situation to catch myself and shut the story down completely - on a sixpence - and re enter 'beingness' using the ego trigger itself - by converting it to an enlightenment trigger - - and instantly reconnected to being ness That feels so strong when it happens - It reconnects me to feeling the joy of life - and letting the jiiva fall away - as a course in miracles says - nothing 'means anything' An image I use for literally smashing ego is to imagine a glass mirrored coating around my whole body This coating is Jiiva or ego When ego is triggered I imagine the story as being a reflection in my coating - and then I break out of the coating - offing it and shattering the coating away from my true reality and watch it fall around me like a bauble breaking in to lots of pieces and destroying itself - leaving my pristine self free to move freely and BE This image works when around toxic people Every trigger becomes a glass breakage moment as I shed my ego The problem becomes a solution and spiritual practise Its sort of fun actually I

Why not just listen and learn? This is a western trait for sure. Maybe a newbie response to knowledge I guess. For us serious practitioners it is quite amusing.

they can steal from you and make you homeless. Pretty hard to be spiritual when youre too busy just looking for food to eat. There are many ways to stop people from progressing spiritually if they are forced to have contact with you. You can abuse them psychologically, you can injure and main them, you can steal their pets and slash their car tires and disabled their car so they can't get to work on time. Theres plenty of ways to take someone off their spiritual path. You can also get them addicted to drugs. You dont live in vacuum, the people you associate with have a very real effect on you. I no longer feel any anger towards these people, I see that they themselves are just victims of their unconscious thought patterns. But it just tires me so incredibly constantly to be confronted with the nonsense of these people and with the harmful consequences of their unconscious thoughts and actions. So how do you deal with the destructiveness and all the madness these people are all too often caught up in without realizing it themselves? I don't judge them for their unconscious state but in many cases I can't live with the inner lie of telling them what they want and pretending that what's going on inside them isn't totally insane. If you tell people what they want to hear, then they are satisfied, but as soon as you contradict their mental narrative, they feel directly attacked and may even consider you an enemy. I have already tried, first approaching them openly, as far as I could agree with my inner conscience on the subject at hand, and when I felt it appropriate to do so, I have tried to agree with them on some of the points they made and by showing compassion and understanding of their situation, this made many people less defensive. But no matter what I did, I couldn't get through to them with words and they were unable to see the falsity of their beliefs and stubbornly stuck to their beliefs. For me, seeing clearly how damaging their ways of thinking are and how much suffering and destruction ensues from it, it is unbearable to endure this unconscious state in which most people are stuck in knowing to what this inevitably leads to in big picture. And of course I am aware that it is possible to zoom out even more than this and than the picture gets even bigger and all this stuff doesn't really matter much any more, and sometimes I like to take this perspective. But still it's tiresome to be around unconscious people and the repetitiveness of their limited ways of thinking and doing things in this never ending loop of suffering.

@@awakenotwoke7949that’s a great line, “unconscious actions lead to undesirable results.” To go back to the OP’s question, perhaps you could help the people you encounter to identify the undesirable results in their lives, and then reverse engineer to identify a needed change in their actions. If they’re not willing to change, then they actually want the end results and you’re dealing with someone who’s unsalvageable. At that point, it’s time to cut the cord.

@@endofscene Take the war in Ukraine for example. Today we live in extremely politicized times and the different opinions are defended against any criticism. As for the war in Ukraine, I myself refuse to take a certain stance for any side in this war or any other war in the world, but I have people in my family and close friends who have clear positions and choose either of the sides. Specifically, there are two people, one pro-Russia and one pro-Ukraine. Both people have no contact with each other, so fortunately there are no quarrels between the two. But whenever I spend time with any of them, I have to listen to their extreme views, with all the animosity and conviction in their words that I find difficult to deal with. So depending on who it is I'm dealing with at the moment, I have to take turns in hearing from them that either Russia or, on the other hand, NATO/Selensky is solely to blame. However, I myself have a much more differentiated view and I try to get my point trough to them but to no avail. My point mostly consists that I find this bloodbath on both sides unbearable and to me all that misery caused by this war and every person that has lost it's life in it could have been avoided without that narrow minded hard-headedness on all the different sides. For me it doesn't really matter who started the war or which side is believed to be in the right. For me there is no justification for this killing, I do not consider either side of the war better than the other. No matter who started the war it always takes at least two to keep it alive and the longer it lasts the more atrocities will happen. And when it comes to the age old question of who is to blame than all fingers start to point at each other, everyone tends to blame the other party anyway and nobody is willing to admit their own mistakes. When I try to get this point across to them I encounter a psychological barrier. Sometimes all sorts of accusations are thrown at me and they quickly become emotional and the conversation gets personal. They are too identified with their point of view to allow a view that differs from their own. I've given up arguing with them by now, but I find it exhausting to constantly have to listen to their narrowed perspectives. The conflict in Ukraine is just one of countless examples of extremely politicized issues that seem to be increasing. And I have the impression that the different opinions are being fought out more and more passionately. But ultimately I have to just accept the way people are, after all it is impossible to change people if they aren't ready for it. Maybe I'm still too involved, maybe I should take it easy and start letting go more, who knows one day they might realize for themselves what I was trying to convey to them.

One of the biggest tools that being spiritual gives you is getting a 6th sense for what people to just complete avoid because they're nothing but trouble. Follow your gut, it knows. Some folks are just a walking disaster area, and thats their thing. You can't sustainably help anyone like that unless you're being paid to do it, so just leave it to therapists and the police whose job it is to deal with things like that. You just focus on your own stuff and other peoples problems are their own problems and theres nothing you can really do to solve those for them. If a mother is abusing their kid but not enough to meet the legal definition, but still ruining their life and setting them up for future failure in life, there's just nothing you can do. That's their stuff and whatever cycle they're stuck in. You gotta know when to hold em and when fold em and walk away. Unfortunately people with serious problems are unfortunately most of the time on their own and they will probably eventually die and that's just how it is sometimes. Unless you're being financially compensated or compensated through other means, theres no sustainable way to help others without hurting yourself, so just keep on walking. Many people end up where they are because of the societal system we are in and theres nothing you can really do for them. The main guilt lies with their parents who did not set themselves up to properly raise children, that's their deal not yours, unless you're being paid to make it your deal.
