I really liked what happened with Boba Fett in the Vong invasion when he rescued the Solo's and Han was like "WHAT THE HELL? I thought you hated me?" and Fett was like "no Solo you idiot, it was never about you, I always chased the biggest bounty and people always put HUGE bounties on you, I couldn't care less about you or your Wookie"

If anything, it was the first effort at establishing the pseudo-religious undertones of The Mandalorian's Deathwatch cult. Im glad they changed it up, but Fett being a sort of religious zealot with an uncompromising code of interpersonal conduct made perfect sense. And yes, there are a lot of people who still associate any type of illegal drug distribution with things like human trafficking and weapons smuggling. I could even see Clone Wars Boba Fett gaining a particular hatred for all three by his middle age.

I have always headcanoned Jango as asexual. He didn´t have a kid with some female bountyhunter colleague, he just let the Kaminoans clone his son from his DNA. Celibacy can be a choice. Just call him celibate, Eck. Incel is an insult which is used to belittle people who are broadly unappealing to the opposite sex. It's rude to use about people who are solely physically unattractive, but I think it's probably fair to use to describe people who have awful personalities, recognize those faults, and then blame the opposite sex instead of working on improving their own appeal.

Weird? Not really. In medieval literature, a lot of fictional chivalry (knights) are portrayed as being chaste, Sir Galahad of the Holy Grail quest (not the Michael Palin version) being an extreme example. Bear in mind that these were written during a period when the Catholic Church played a bigger role in society and chastity / celibacy was seen as a norm for unmarried gentry. You could say that first Fett story was in essence a throwback to that sort of protagonist. A warrior monk, so to speak.

The Mandalorians, at least the Journeyman Protectors had a Code, or Values like some of the Medieval Knights, who adhered to the Code of Chivalry. I've spent a few decades defending Boba Fett, though Lucas didn't make it easy. Boba Fett was reduced to a keystone cop in ROTJ, and it was only made worse in the "special edition". Temuera Morrison has done an excellent job thus far, and I can't wait for the Book of Boba Fett this December, though I do have some reservations, there seems to be a trend (specially at Disney) to turn popular villains into "good guys". I don't want Boba Fett to be a good guy, I want him to Michael Corleone, I don't want the Book of Boba Fett to tell a redemption story, I want it to be Gangs of New York.

@@Mysikrysa @Callum Wright I disagree, if you look at every appearance of Boba, he is not neutral. the Infamous Holiday Special, Empire, Droids, Return of the Jedi, he wasn't just a bounty hunter but also muscle for Jabba the Hutt, and worked with/for the Empire. As a kid he knew his father was a shady character, probably was aware of his fathers involvement in trying to assassinate senator Amidala , and even fired Slave One's guns at a Jedi who represented Law and order. I'm sure he collected bounties on plenty of dirt bags, but he was involved in shady business, and when I call him a villain I'm not suggesting he's killing puppies, beating up old ladies, or committing genocide, but he doesn't just collect bounties, and he doesn't have a problem shooting to kill no matter who he's shooting at.

@@W4kT3k The Jedi should represent law and order. But they were also a cult of religious zealots who took babies from their families and taught them to supress their emotions, and we all know how it ended. The Jedi became something totally different then what they were supposed to be. They became soldiers instead of peace keepers. They had no problem to use the army of clones who were designed to be obedient and OK with being disposable war material. The Republic was corrupted and blind to see their own hypocrisy. The "evil" Separatists at least used droids as soldiers instead of humans. So the Jedi represent law and order of a regime which is rotten and falls apart because its own hypocrisy and dysfunction. The Republic has totalitarian tendencies too, because why the hell didn´t they just let the separatistic planets leave the Republic? The more you think about it, the more the moral high ground of the Jedi doesn´t seem so high. Jedi and Mandalorians are also historical enemies. A Jedi killed Boba´s father. It would be weird if he wanted to join Luke out of the blue. Boba worked for the Empire and Hutt cartel because who else was around and paid well? The Empire was an official government for the most of Boba´s bounty hunting career, except of a few last years of the Republic before its fall. Some people saw the Empire as the real law and order, and the Rebels as a bunch of terrorists. Some people saw no difference between the Empire and the Republic because for example slavery on remote planets was a problem during the Republic era too. And I think Boba would draw the line at the point when the bounty would be a child who is supposed to be murdered or enslaved. And if puppies or innocent old ladies were the bounty. :D

Several things. I am pretty sure the name Jaster Meril came from the old marvel star wars comics with Fenn Shysa. If i recall the interview, the character was portrayed as a fanatic and the author of Boba Fett's short story was restrained from doing anything different with the character b/c they were still considered eu canon lore. Also, the scene in Return of the Jedi was added for the Special Edition, well after the Tales book was published. Shatterpoint DID have an audiobook, abridged of course. but it is sitting on my shelf. Star by Star's abysmal abridgement and the response that triggered along with the shift to cds instead of cassette which happened a book or so later is what prompted the lengthening of books. Evereything is still abridged until the middle of the Legacy of the Force series...but several novels never got audio aty all...such as the Rebublic Commando series, Shows of Mindor and others. So, so far we have not heard of anything that has "never gotten audio versions", just better versions of what we already have. Maybe one day we will get the audios for Riptide, Crosscurrent, or the Coruscant Nights books. Also, since Audible is absolutely trash, Particularly to independent authors) do NOT exchange any books you do buy from them or they will not count as having "been bought" and it will likely not help them to release more.

I think the idea in concept isn’t bad, but for Boba specifically it doesn’t make any sense because I’m RotJ he’s working for Jabba, a drug lord, hanging out in his palace, and seen flirting with some of his dancer girls.
@CaesarGB
@CaesarGB 2 жыл бұрын
Flirting isn’t the same as actually having sex. Christians do some flirting and kissing but if they do it right they wait until marriage for things to get heated. But, I don’t think Jabba’s dancing girls are the marriageable type, especially not for a man like Boba. But you have a point with him working for a drug lord.

I have always headcanoned Jango as asexual. He didn´t have a kid with some female bountyhunter colleague, he just let the Kaminoans clone his son from his DNA. As an asexual he also wasn´t distracted by sexual urges, so he was more focused on mastering his skills - kinda like Nikola Tesla with science, but Jango mastered his fighting and bountyhunting skills. And because Boba is his clone, it is highly likely he would be asexual too.
