Yeah, see her Resume and some of her site at my comment above from here. www.naimalowe.net/about/ Everything she does is complaining about white people, including her "ART" which doesn't look like art to me. Like a bunch of folders with questions for white people. Or the 39 Questions for White People. And I'm guessing they are all questionly like "have you stopped beating you wife" ? This video by Benjamin, sounds like Naima makes the classes or has a lot of control since she said they don't teach science in science class, and "how bad white people are". Stunted By Social Justice: An Evergreen Student Speaks kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bNuEoJqQrKuag6M.html And the "chemistry was a dance and social justice class" ! This school and any like it should be shut down ! And anyone teaching "gender studies" sexism and racism not allowed withing a MILE of ANY SCHOOL ! The feminist RACIST, are ruining all kings of things ! And now they say it is "OK to accuse an INNOCENT MAN OF RAPE ", so they can promote #metoo Actual article on Vox, after the quotes I changed the words, so I don't get marked as spam. Like they did before. Pass this on ! They are telling women to LIE ABOUT RAPE , and it is a GOOD THING !!!

You have offended them NOW you MUST accommodate them to make it up to them, whether their offense is rational or not. Victim status is HIGHLY prized on the left and the evidence is the weight they put on intersectionality. Gender, sex, race, sexual preference, national origin etc.....the more of these you have, the more weight your statements have and the more "untouchable" you are. If you are a trans, black Muslim you MUST be listened to and no relevant questions may be asked lest they be met automatically with cries of one "ism" and "phobia" or another. In a larger sense the far left wants to shut down all the campuses in this country. So, all the people that are in cheerleader mode. Because of the idea of far left politics being defeated by capitalistic trends, that could certainly lead to the shut down Evergreen Collage. You are feeding in to the agenda of the far left. Their long term goal is to shut down every campus in this country. Why? You ask, would someone want to destroy the American education system? To make way for communism. For instance, every country in the world, that has ever been taken over by communism. The first thing that they do is to round up the educated people. In an effort to silence their voices. Why would communists have to worry about educated people? If their are no educated people. So watch what you ask for. People who combine the somatic with their identity have a strong tendency to see any challenge to their claims as a threat to their being, i.e., as "violence", or at least couch it in those terms fairly consistently. Thus everyone who dares to voice even the mildest disagreement with them is called a "Nazi", and so on. Identity politics shuts off discussion as a part of its psychology, and it will be hard to reverse that.

Everything she's saying really reinforces what Jordan Peterson was saying in his last video about how of course these types of people are going to seek power by any means necessary, since they view the world through this warped narrow lens of "everything is power dynamics," and "this is what my enemies are doing so it justifies me." Scary. Projection to the max. It sounds a lot like her attempting rationalization her bs after she's already come up with some idea or philosophy that satisfies her emotionally. I mean she literally said treating people as individuals doesn't combat systemic racism. How does she think culture changes? Teaching kids to treat people as individuals is how the culture changes for the next generations. And it seemed like it was working. Until all this regressive stuff started popping up. Sounds like a great idea for a novel. The Spanish Civil War that led to rise of Franco is another good study. It was a very direct war between the left and right. In that case the conservative right won and became the authoritarian dictators. From wikipedia, the cause of the civil war is described as: "The Republicans, who were loyal to the democratic, left-leaning and relatively urban Second Spanish Republic, in an alliance of convenience with the Anarchists, fought against the Nationalists, a Falangist, Carlist, and largely aristocratic conservative group led by General Francisco Franco. Although the war is often portrayed as a struggle between democracy and fascism, historians consider it more accurately described as a struggle between leftist revolution and rightist counter-revolution. Ultimately, the Nationalists won, and Franco then ruled Spain for the next 36 years, from April 1939 until his death in November 1975. Democratic forces on the right and left were squeezed out by the extremes."

A very well spoken breakdown. You hit all the salient points right on the money. When a person is not valued they begin to disappear. My conversations with homeless people say that when people don't acknowledge them they begin to feel invisible and even question their existence. We cannot deny a person's essential humanity and right to exist and then expect reasonable discourse. Just me saying but when we view a class of humans as disposable and make their right to exist about our convenience then it is a cancer that spreads throughout the social fabric.

What kind of expertise does a professor who studied for degree in "African Studies" and "Film Studies" bring to a classroom. Of course when you listen to her incoherent discourse you are hearing the fruit of years of postmodern nonsense being spewed forth in stream of consciousness style. Niami and her ilk only stop spewing when they arrive at their starting point having navigated the rhetorical full circle. She and Prvst. George need to feel the employment axe.

Thanks for analyzing the shit out of this. We have so many questions about the Evergreen College rabbit hole (a.k.a. doorway to hell). You're doing a great job of making sense of what appears to be senseless madness. With Lowe at the reins of this process, there can be no meaningful progress to a better place. Lowe doesn't want progress at all. Victim Olympians like Lowe thrive on the struggle, the anger and the self righteousness. If the struggle ended, her life would lose all meaning. Today she's considered a brave agent of change. If the struggle were to end, she would be just another unattractive liberal arts professor.

"What is power? Do we ever really know?" Power is very simple. It's easy to define. It's not a rhetorical question you're asking and I'll define it for you right now. Power is behavior which reduces or takes away another human's agency or free will, and at the same time increases or inflicts your own agency or free will upon them. And yes, I include here both coercive and persuasive behaviors. For example, let's say you want to eat a cookie, and I don't want you to eat the cookie. If I persuaded you through my speech that say, the cookie's unhealthy for you, such that you changed your mind and no longer wanted to eat it, that's persuasive power, because I have through my actions changed your free will towards wanting to eat the cookie. If I hit you in the face with a stick and broke your jaw, or took away the cookie and crushed it to crumbs in my hand, that's coercive power. Because while I have not changed your free will towards wanting to eat the cookie, I have taken away your agency such that you can no longer eat the cookie. These both are examples of how power can be applied in different ways. The persuasive and coercive sides can also be combined, for instance if I told you that if you ate the cookie I'd set your house on fire and you reasonably believed I had the means and intention to carry through with the threat. *Discretionary statement to any law-enforcement or legal bodies who may be reading this, this is not an actual threat nor statement of intent to harm the Benjamin Boyce's person or his cookies, thank you very much*

Benjamin Boyce "...beauty and truth are subjective..." *Truth is not "subjective" when expressed to another person, it is true or not true.* *Subjectivity is of no consequence to reality or others.* *Beauty is a subjective aesthetic. eg A person says "Look at the ugly water fall". A person responds "I don't care what you pretend about the beautiful water fall".* *One should be concerned with any epistemology that classifies "truth" as subjective, because a person can pretend ANYTHING.*

No grain of truth is needed, all it takes is willingness to believe. And it is easy to convince people of things they want to believe. Like eternal life, the ultimate ego pandering. Not even a grain of truth there, it is the opposite of truth, yet so many people believe it. Because they want it to be true, not because it has any relationship with reality, but because they wish it was so. And that is one of the most widespread lies, entirely devoid of truth.

Delphinium, you just have to consider everything we know on the topic. The only claims that souls exist come from different forms of superstition. No mention of them in medicine. No mention in psychology. That's weird. Also, everything we have learned thus far shows that there is no such thing as a soul. If we damage one part of the brain, its owner loses the ability to recognize faces. Damage another and he can't do math. As you lose parts of the brain, you lose cognitive abilities. But the proponents of the soul hypothesis insist that when the entire brain is destroyed, all lost mental faculties are magically restored and we get to live forever. This shows complete disregard or ignorance of facts. The claim is based only on one's wish for it to be true rather than anything we have ever observed. It is pure wishful thinking. And if you look at the religious who claim they believe there is such a thing as soul and that upon death they will be united with their imaginary friend, their actions speak the opposite of what's coming out of their mouths. Why would the Pope ever have an armored popemobile if what he's preaching was true? That's weird. Why take such expensive precautions against "going to the best place ever with his best friend ever?"

nikolaneberemed the soul refers to the unconscious mind, the inner voice, and dreaming. The unexplainable aspects of your being. I remain skeptical, but I am not completely against the notion of an underlying force that is behind the scenes. There is still a lot we can't explain, so to completely say there is no soul is doing some discredit. What if the soul is just matter and the force of life? Like there is no proof proving the soul or disproving it. We won't know until we die, that's the exciting part:D

I read somewhere that there are some 39 kinds of power...including economic, social, health, status, political, religious as well as modes pertaining to beauty, intelligence, likeability, creativity, etc. It's also a power to be spared certain things....like combat-duty and dressing oneself (kings and queens). It's also "power" to be able to define what power is and who has it. Finally, one great power is to have it while pretending not to. What power does an unemployed white coal-miner have that Oprah Winfrey doesn't?

The argument that treating people as individuals won't combat systemic bigotry doesn't make any sense to me. I'm a part of this culture. I'm behaving (or at the very least, attempting to behave) in a manner that renders that bigotry obsolete by evaluating people by their character and actions. How does that not change things? She does want me as a white person to treat black people differently. She's advocating for me to treat black people like an endangered species, and I know that tons of black people absolutely hate that behavior because it's so condescending and because it perpetuates the mentality of singling them out. And furthermore, she's also basically arguing that she has no power, which is so patently false. If you, as a professor, can publicly denigrate fellow faculty members and call them racists in public, tell them they should expect no place to defend themselves, and not receive any punishment from your boss... you have power. By the rest of the world's logic, she is racist. But she's racist by her own logic too, because she has both prejudice and power in her ecosystem. Oh, but being a college professor who can get away with berating and slandering colleagues isn't power because she's a black woman. Got it. This shit is so twisted. If Weinstein leaves I'll probably leave Evergreen. I signed up for his class like an hour and a half before the protest lol.

Prof. Lowe claims the right to use the rhetoric of the empowered victim to gain as much power for herself as she can. I can't imagine Washington, Jefferson, or Madison addressing their slaves in the profane and abusive manner that Prof. Lowe uses with her so-called colleagues, who obviously do not feel empowered to demand that Lowe address them in a civil and respectful manner. Is Prof. Lowe going to face any consequences for her behavior as captured in the clip, or is her behavior going to be tolerated or even affirmed by Evergreen State? Has she even apologized to her colleagues? Whatever else Evergreen State has accomplished, it certainly has not eliminated racism. On the contrary, it appears to have made itself the most racist institution in the country.

(Former) Professor Lowe now keeps a pretty low profile. It seems she received a "fellowship" to make art in Tulsa, Oklahoma last year (2020); this opportunity soon degenerated into drama and problems, and as a result she was asked to leave. For example, at 3:50, her explanation of the idea, "blacks can't be racist," is elegant -- she lays it out in a non-threatening, matter-of-fact way. Of course, she ignores the reality that she IS in a position of power, and HAS exercised that power to adversely affect whites (both students and faculty) at Evergreen. I'm just crediting her on the concise, elegant way she's laid out this argument, an argument I utterly reject on the merits. It shows her smarts and skill as an advocate.

I'm only at 3:00, but have to say I'm glad you did this on in a way that takes Lowe seriously, unpacking the intellectual content of her world view, which I believe is coherent, and which does a lot to explain what's happening at Evergreen. Far too many people, esp. commentators on my KZfaq channel, dismiss her with fat jokes or racist jokes, which I've often criticized by pointing out that she's a decent writer and a highly intelligent person (perhaps in part inherited from her dad, who's a journalist), and thus an important representive of the Critical Race Theory (CRT) crowd, and not some sort of token black/queer prof.

Badger, you know that they do away with the concept of being consistent right? Benjamin says this in one of his other videos. People dismiss her, because her world view is not coherent or consistent, at least not to people who don't share her world view. Some of them may think they are being consistent, but I do think that some of them would also straight up tell you that they intentionally do away with consistency.
