35 year old woman here with zero cavities or any other dental health issues. I haven't been to a dentist in 17 years. Haven't brushed with fluoride in over 12...i oil pull every day and have for nearly 5 years. We also don't drink the tap water. My 8 year old son follows these practices and when we took him to the dentist just to see if his adult teeth were coming in properly she said he had the cleanest mouth of any 8 year old she'd seen. Can't make money off people with healthy teeth!

@kr fluoride does no good for health at any level. It's neuro toxic. It is a by product of the aluminum industry. The dump bags and bags of it into municipal water supplies in the United States. It can not be filtered out either. So all the fake spring water companies bottled water will still be contaminated with it. However, distilled water is free of fluoride. Americans take more medicine than the rest of the world combined and remain the sickest people. This is intentional. Wellness is not promoted in any logical way in the U.S. Pharmaceuticals that do not heal are promoted. Business is more important than humanity. The studies that claim poisons are safe are bias. Officials in regulational studies are linked to the companies who make billions off poisoning and dumbing down humanity unfortunately. False reporting is more prevalent than most people know.

this video cites a handful of cases that dont relate to pulling coconut oil 3x/wk and spitting it out, then brushing teeth, followed by a salt/mouthwash gargle. also, i did the vicks in nostrils recently maybe 2-5 years back, and know many who do it all their lives, so i wonder how many unlucky souls this happened to. after a few hundred years of oil pulling in india, shouldn't they have endless stats on it causing lung health issues? we eat lots of grease and oil butter etc. every day, drink MCT oil in our coffee etc., we clear throats after a meal, maybe cough, and don't lay down or sleep right afterward. if we dont lay down go to sleep with a film of oil in the throat, i fail to see how this is super relevant. video production does a good job of building suspense graphically, but really had only 1 case of oil pulling causing 1 adult issues and we dont know how she was doing it or what oil was used or if she went straight to bed afterward, etc. most oil pullers rinse with salt or do their brushing routine after pulling. 1-5 cases could be fake, so this doctor needs way more data, specific to popular coconut oil pulling, to make a better case that isn't anectdotal "4 children and 1 adult". 5 in 300 million is called a fluke/odd not relevant. if we apply the caveat by the medical doctor below "people with swallowing issues or at risk of aspiration should not do this. of course not for children" then we've addressed the rare token cases that lead to lipoid pneumonia and cleared the practice as safe. if you start feeling off, cut your dosage in half until it clears.

I went to the dentist for a teeth cleaning around 45 days ago. I noticed they didn't do a very good job behind my lower teeth. I started oil pulling with coconut oil a week ago, and I was able to clean most of what they had missed! It's a great feeling moving my tongue behind my clean teeth. I took a picture the other day, and will monitor to see if my teeth become whiter as well. I'm glad I watched this, because it's good reminder for me not too use too much coconut oil at one time, because it can sometimes be difficult not to swallow a tiny bit. Will be more careful going forward!

Oil pulling make skin black? And it make pimples on skin? And it make gap between the teeth?
@DarlingBug
@DarlingBug 10 ай бұрын
@keerthivasan9807 If you don't swish it much, it wouldn't make gaps at all. I highly recommend chewing the most of time. And it will not make skin darker or make pimples. It does the opposite. It will provide more Oxygen to your brain, so your brain to function better and white hair to go away. I had to start long time ago because my feet and hands started to get swollen and became very stiff. I still remember the shocking moment which I couldn't get up without a support of my hands when I sat down on the floor. That is when I remembered the oil pulling I was told by my sister and started. It gave me a miracle in a couple of days. I continued about 2 years off & on. I still do it whenever I feel necessary. Gingivitis was gone when I had it. That scared me too when some of my teeth were all rumbling and eating meals was horror itself. And I couldn't afford $6500 for the treatment, so I went for the oil pulling instead, and in several days, I felt my teeth got stronger and no problem eating meals again. There are much more to my experiences.. But never go over 20min. I told someone I know this, but she overdid it because she thought the longer time might do more benefits. I had warned about the timing but.. 😂 20 min is the time for the oil to circulate our whole body, so if you overdo it, the toxin the oil pulled will go back in to your body. And spit it out to the trashcan and rinse your mouth and drink a cup of water after. I hate the water drinking part though. 😅

I haven't been sick since I started oil-pulling 5 years ago. If you dismiss that as anecdotal evidence, then dismiss all of the anecdotal evidence in these videos. Drinking water isn't dangerous just because someone was reported to have drowned from water. Every study I found on the subject at the time was selectively biased and/or flawed. I never found a valid study that used organic cold-pressed virgin coconut oil. The studies all seem to use processed oils and cherry picked only objective data. Subjective data is at best a foot note in the summary, so just like the rest of conventional medicine how you feel doesn't matter.

I've tried water pulling, and it's not even close. Water will not release apple peels from between my teeth like coconut oil, and it dries out my mouth rather than moisten it. The main problem with this channel's philosophy is the belief that only double-blind studies are truly "put to the test". This rules out all whole unprocessed natural foods because they never look like the synthetic alternative. It also rules out most long-term consequences since the studies rarely last longer than a month. There are far better ways to determine the healthiest lifestyles.

After about two weeks I noticed that my ankles were not stiff in the morning -- walking down the stairs to let the dog out in the morning was no longer painful. Also, my hair had recently fully grayed, but after a few weeks of oil pulling with sesame oil it changed to a combination of ginger and salt -- half gray, in other words.

Be careful with new fads, like oil pulling with coconut oil, because it caused lipoid pneumonia for me, when some of the oil accidentally seeped into my lungs. And I’m a healthy individual who runs a lot and works out. It messed with my lungs for months.

I haven't brushed my teeth in last 5 years with that chemical laden paste. My teeth and gums are healthy and strong. No wonder why dentist hate the natural approach, as it will render them jobless.

I love Dr. Greger, and I was on board with this until he mentioned the ADA. 😞 Truth is, oil pulling has helped many with their teeth. Not saying the findings are wrong. I'm just wondering if the ADA was behind all these studies because they don't want anyone improving their teeth. And if it's true that aspiration is a real problem, maybe it's rarer than you think, and simply a cautionary tale to be very mindful when you're pulling.

Yes it is the truth. Dentist industry is booming !!!!!!! Cant even get a tooth extraction in a emergency situation if you dont pay almost three hundred to four hundred dollars up front . Yes it cost that much with no insurances. Usually no payment plan. Its against the law in most states for emergency room to pull the tooth.They will give you an antibiotic and put you in the hospital half dead first because of bad infection. This is true , look up info for yourself. People die from this in America. This is insane. They cant help people with this is just more than sad. Are teeth should not be like this. Processed food is to blame. Many people cant grow a garden and afford healthy food.There is a god and he planted food for us to eat. Thats basically what we should eat with any common since. There seems to be some confusion in the comments about oil in the lungs vs water or food or whatever else. First of all, the body is mostly water and water evaporates, so there is no risk to getting a little bit of water in the lungs: your body will either absorb it or it will be exhaled as vapor. Oil on the other hand will not evaporate or be absorbed easily through the lung tissue. In other words, if you get oil in the lungs, it will stick there. Yes, inhaling food or other solids would also be bad, but it's much harder for food to slide down the bronchial tubes than oil, which generally can flow wherever the path of least resistance is; even if you've closed your air passage, oil can still squeeze through. Given the risk vs reward, I'd say it's fairly obvious to give up oil pulling and try something else. Maybe water pulling can give you the benefits that you think you're enjoying from oil pulling.

It looks like oil pulling is becoming so popular that it’s cutting into the profits of Proctor & Gamble and Colgate. To only have 2 examples isn’t exactly an epidemic. I followed the below regime home for 1 month: 1) Daily morning- Coconut oil pulling: If you have severe cold/cough don’t do oil pulling. Also don’t do Choirs/workout while oil pulling. It’s very important that you stay focused and relaxed. There are studies that small oil particles end up in lungs. So don’t contribute to that theory. 2) Before dinner-Clove oil n Garlic mix: put directly on the tooth. Bite it n hold for 15min. Spit it out and rinse with regular water. Do NOT brush/rinse with any chemicals/acidic. Then I ate dinner. By the time I finished dinner the smell faded out. It worked for me. 3) Apple cider vinegar rinse- after breakfast, lunch or snack or munch. I’ll Never use chemicals like Listerine again. 4) Floss twice a day- morning n night 5) tooth brush “gently” twice a day with very very little toothpaste. 6) Charcoal n Salt mix ever Alternate day - slowly rub on the gums. This is also a very good idea as it effectively reduces acid levels and prevents enamel corrosion. It also helps as tooth whitener. It worked and I promised myself I’ll never sleep without flossing. I’ll always rinse my mouth every-time I eat or drink.

I’m sure that when properly oil pulling is safe ! To get oil in the lungs some folks may have some undiagnosed medical condition .For example esophageal dysphasia =means sometimes I have trouble swallowing and can occasionally choke ,inhale liquids or foods .. I do oil pulling very carefully occasionally . I oil pull mainly because I believe the mouth and jaw motions etc.. actually lymph fluid moment . Which. I’ve read is very good for the lymph system/ immune system .Possibly increasing overall health . That’s my theory on why so many folks say that if you do it for a few weeks they physically feel much healthier overall .

What about inhalable essential oils? These have helped me numerous times fighting bad colds. Or, those people that love eating "healthy" olive oils with bread? I would think that if oils caused such problems as Dr G is saying in this video... so many more people would become ill from eating oil. Wouldn't Italian restaurants that serve hot oil and bread be found out and shut down? Something doesn't add up on this video.
