I don’t wish to be picky I am just trying to help. I worked in the aerospace industry for 30 years and it was my responsibility to teach employees how to use torque wrenches and measuring equipment. If you torque a fastener more than once it places an unknown torque value on that fastener. It’s always best to get the fastener snug before torque. Also removing fasteners with a torque wrench will damage it. Just my anal two cents. I have the Savage Axis 25-06 and love it. I put a Rifle Basix trigger on it and JB welded the removable trigger guard housing along with some JB weld in the wrist section of the stock. Most recently bought a forearm stiffening kit. Loving the videos and the upgrades. Keep them coming!

I put Boyds on both my Savage Axis rifles and it for sure made a difference in tightening bullet groups down range from the factory stock although the newer Axis factory stocks seem to be much better than the old original ones. I do put thread locker on all my scope mounts bases and rings. I didn't once and the scope shook loose and lost zero from a quad (4 wheeler) rifle rack. It cost me a four point buck so lesson learned. I also don't put my rifles on racks anymore and prefer to sling them on my shoulder. Yes eye relief but I also level the scope to the receiver for proper reticle line up. If the rings fit well then I don't bother lapping the rings. Leveling the scope is not as important for closer range but if a scope is not leveled then shooting at longer range can cause shots to be off because of reticle cant or leaning at an angle. I always check my zero before a hunt but thread locking and proper torque of screws will stop loosening and movement of the scope.

Nice upgrades! I also went with the Boyd's stock on my Savage Axis ii stainless steel.. and what a difference in looks ❤️ It was accurate before.. and it is still accurate with the upgrade! I was impressed to say the least 😃 Great video and information.. definitely helpful going from start to finish. One thing I've noticed with my Axis is if I tighten the action and give it a lose tap while holding it vertical on to the floor.. it seats it in the recoil lug nicely. Also it's perfectly centered! Then I finish tightening up. Thanks for sharing this brother

I think we forget that there is 60k psi in your face with some of these calibers

Thanks for the comment Frank! I agree, it is definitely something to remind ourselves and others of from time to time! The best and most drastic example I can think of is Kentucky Ballistics 50 cal exploding! WHEW! Thanks for watching, have a good one!

Nice stock and scope. Does that monte carlo stock get your eye centered up better in scope? I realize you had a different scope on with your old stock. Please do a video shooting with that stock on the rifle!! Also, what length of pull did you go with and what recoil pad? Cool set up!

Are you interested in selling the old stock I bought the youth version of that gun in 6.5 and can’t find the spacers to fix the length of pull
