I worked in a call center and this is what it was like! If you're currently considering doing this line of work or looking to escape a call center then I hope this video will inspire you.
On my channel I try to inspire people to make a living by creating things with their hands and for me one of the main motivations to keep going is that I never want to work in an environment like this again!

Working at a remote call center to fund my self employment! No way I’m going to be 35-40 years old and still taking phone calls. First vending, then a laundromat, then real estate and multi family units.

I agree. I worked at a call center for a cable company for 8 years. I quit because of getting into a deep depression and now have basically PTSD with hearing the phone ring. Got laid off during Covid and the only other place that hired me during it all was another call center. Tried to fight through the calls to get to another position off the phone, but didn't work until I started fighting back to the callers and got let go. Never again.

He’s spot on about being ‘coached’ about taking too long with bowel issues that you have no control over. You’re no longer allowed to be an ordinary human because the powers think you’re always trying to dodge work when the real issue is they purposefully understaff. It’s insane……

I feel exactly the same, I work in a call center (or video center because is videocalls all day) and it's the same boring ans stressful. The only thing that keeps me going is the faith in Jesus, i know that it's only three more months and that's it, then i will continue tha path of working with animals which is what i love.

I work as a member advocate for an Insurance company and the work is very emotionally exhausting. You really inspired me with this comment, just saying what keeps you going is Jesus. I’ve been struggling heavily with it even though it’s a remote call center but the Lord is always there & it’s why I want to help people every day when I can. I pray your dream to work with animals is blessed by the hands of Jesus! Amen 🙏🏻

The listening in on calls by supervisors is the worse because you never know when they are listening in. So you are being evaluated but have no clue as to when these evaluations are taking place. And those supervisors just want to make themselves look great by finding all kinds of fault with the employees they are listening in on.

I graduated college with a degree in CIS. I was hired for a job that never mentioned it would be a call center, but that’s exactly what it was! I spent almost a year looking for another job that lined up with what I went to school for. I was finally hired a few weeks ago. I will never go back to a call center. I even took a bit of a pay cut for my happiness and sanity! I finished working and quit without any notice. I thought I was someone who could put up with the nonsense, but there was no way! The majority of callers were idiots that expected you to fix their problems instantly. Never again!

Hi Dan, I really like your rings and your videos, but my English is terrible. Can't release the subtitles in Portuguese? I keep thinking about taking the course, has it translated into Portuguese? Think about it please. From there thank you.

If I ever feel disrespected by a manager or higher up during a conversation regarding work I would follow up the conversation outline what was spoken about and explaining how I feel it could have been deleted with better. This pulls them in line because they can't fire you over feedback and you now have what was spoken about in writing with a date and time. They can't get away with lying about what was said and how things went down after doing this. Just cover you 🍑

Now imagine being a transsexual person in Serbia, where only places willing to hire you are call centers. Left me thinking about how much of my bad mood is actual gender identity disorder and problems that go with it, how much it is from a decade spent in call centres.
