Shawn and Angela were undoubtedly the IT Couple of Boy meets World.
Let's talk about one of my favourite relationships on the 90's ABC sitcom boy meets world! Cory and Topanga were the main popular couple of the show but any and everyone who's seen the show knows Shawn and Angela were IT!
And yes I WILL NEVER forgive the writers for the mess that took place on that abomination of a spin-off (girl meets world).

though in regards to the ily scene in s7, seeing someone you have a lot of love for scared and confused of pursuing a relationship with you, then seeing them basically miserable when you break things off with them… i honestly wouldn’t blame her if she started feeling bad. like there’s a part of you that knows you’re not at fault but you can’t help but feel guilty, those feelings probably grew as a result of her commitment issues too. also, him being so scared in the first place probably ended up scaring her as well to some extent

@@aviraes Yeah i get what you mean and where you're coming from and it could have been the case. My issue is that they just acted like Shawn's role in the break up was non existant and the relationship was something he's strongly wanted since they started college which wasn't the case.

To me, a perfect ending would’ve been that Shawn and Angela got together after being reunited during the girl meets world era but something happens like Angela finds out she can’t have kids and so they adopt Maya !! Great video by the way, agree with everything you said :)

I'm rewatching this because I'm back in my Shawn and Angela phase lol. the "realism" thing is so damn dumb. Minkus is happily married to Shawn's abusive ex girlfriend and is a millionaire, Harley is a recurring character who just happens to work at the same school Cory does (mind you, in regard to both him and Minkus, they both just happen to live in the same state as Cory and Topanga now?? What are the odds of that happening??), Cory and Topanga and their family are close friends with Mr. turner (or "uncle" John) aka they're SEVENTH GRADE TEACHER (WHO keeps in contact with their middle school teachers like what???), Eric and Tommy have an emotional, happy reunion, Eric is the mayor of a place called Stupid Town, Jack is a successful business man, they even happily mention Rachel without even having her on the show, and they had BOTH Morgans on the same episode. Meanwhile Angela is literally just "Shawn's ex who broke his heart," no one is friends with her anymore, and the awkwardness and rudeness towards her was played as "funny." Like you said, this whole thing was just anti-black and they weren't even discreet about it

you literally said it! They were deadass playing in our faces it's ridiculous. I'm not sure it's it petty but if I was the actress after reading the script, there's absolutely no way I'd return to do it. Complete test history revisionist history and character assassination. It makes me sick

Definitely in my books Shawn and Angela got married and had children. They were the couple to watch for me. Angela was absolutely gorgeous and fit in with the cast that was 10 years younger than her (you just couldn't tell ....black don't crack) I loved the fact that her and Ryder had really good onscreen chemistry.

you saying you were here for cory and topanga but stayed for shawn and angela is so me. when i started watching the show, i had no idea about shawn and angela, but obviously i knew cory and topanga because i feel like it's hard not to know who they are, even if you never watched the show lol. i was so invested in their relationship until angela came then i was like CORY AND TOPANGA WHO??

#that spinoff made me so mad ughhh. making shawn #that girl's father figure was cute and all but destroying his relationship with angela in order to do so was just nasty. given that the actress said the wrote her out of bmw because they "didn't want her there" or something like that, combined with the writers completely retconning her and shawn's history and basically making her a villain, all to give a happy ending to some random yt woman he knew for five minutes -- that was racially motivated and no one can convince me otherwise. i didn't necessarily watch gmw but i feel like if the writers truly wanted to, they could've found a way to keep both angela and maya (or honestly just angela because f that little girl lol) in his life. they could've gotten married and adopted her, he could've been to her what mr turner was to him, honestly they could've just cast a mixed girl and that could've been their daughter! i will never forgive them!! 😭

Just nasty work! I wanted to give them the beneift if doubt but there's just no way. Like i was THAT show doesn't exist to me because they really could have made it work if they wanted to. It blows my mind that it's the same people who created their beautiful love story just to destroy it so carelessly. FUCK that

First, let me say, "BRAVO!" As a person who came to the "Boy Meets World" series later than most, this is by far the best perspective on the "Real Love Story." Angela and Shawn's story is what made me a fan. That couple is what television needed to see. A confident Black young woman who was legit with real style, beauty, and not some over the top portrayal. Not just some fake attempt at diversity in the cast as we've seen way too many times. In my opinion, Michael Jacobs made the wrong show for the wrong network as a sequel. An Angela and Shawn show was there to be made. That's what this century wanted see. Cory and Topanga fairy tale has it's happy ending. Jacobs tried to recreate a fire that burned out and it fell flat and for that I couldn't be happier! Based on interviews of Jacobs, he got too conceded and thought he knew everything. Finally, the music score placed in this was perfect, as was your narration. You kept everyone fully engaged. Outstanding work here. Cheers!

@@letstalkbaboutitttttt I don't know if you or your family are familiar with a television show called "The Jeffersons." That show was a spinoff of another sitcom. The Jeffersons ran longer than the original show and featured the first interracial couple in TV history. Actually the Black woman in the relationship (Roxie Roker) was Rock star Lenny Kravitz's Mother! It tackled serious issues while injecting humor and was groundbreaking. I expected "The Shawn & Angela Show" to become exactly that! The world was ready and Jacobs blew it!

Naha frr like cool okay Shawn and Angela don’t get back together, but villainizing her and downplaying her relationships with everyone is what I’m not here for, she was literally topanga’s BESTFRIEND, Cory’s first female bestfriend after topanga (heck, they dedicated a whole episode of Cory BEGGING to be her friend, and Shawna first real love and then all of a sudden she left Shawn for no reason and she’s just someone they went college and high school with like she wasn’t part of the gang.

GREAT video. I imagine That ridiculous show doesn't exist.They erased EVERYTHING built in BMW. From how Cory and Topanga acted as a couple to Shawn and Angela. I can't believe the same writer wrote both shows. I imagine Angela and Shawn met up a few years after college and for back together

I know this video is kind of old but Cory and Topanga were pushed in our faces as the perfect model couple when in reality they were toxic as hell. Corey cheated on Topanga, he lied about still being injured so he can spend time with another girl, Topanga pretended to be a french girl so she could talk to Nd kiss other boys while they were dating, Corey is always butthurt about Topanga's success and Cory had a thing with getting in peoples faces and screaming at them. I was so over those too. We shouldve seen more of Shawn and Angela. They came more natural. We were robbed of a good story with Shawn and Angela.

Everything you said is facts! The writers thought they were something they clearly weren't. Even the way they tried to rewrite the first couple of seasons to say Cory was always in love with her. I really wish they gave us more of Shawn and Angela in season 7 with them being in the more mature adult phase of their relationship. It's such a shame

Miss Gurl, this video was everything I needed. Shawn and Angela are everything that needed to be giving!!!!!! I myself could not finish the show even because of the flop their relationship went through. At least I still have fanfic😊

GMW is so trash it doesnt exist to me for this reason alone i hate how they made her the "bad" guy and say she "abandoned" him they were clearly meant to be together and not Corpanga their love was so raw and real like how are you gonna give Shawn a LONG TERM girlfriend let him grow and mature as person and him actually want a serious relationship just for him to marry someone else in the matter of days and see he loves her?! and say she "abandoned" him if anything they were meant to be more than Corpanga

I feel like it’s sad that every creator who makes a video on Shawn and Angela feel the need to water down, sugarcoat or even gaslight themselves into believing that the GMW crimes weren’t a product of anti blackness and misogynoir. They hated her. The entire arc in GMW was clearly a giant ‘fuck you’ to all the people who loved Shawn and Angela because they expected people to hate them and then got pissed when people didn’t. The exact same thing happened in Austin & Ally when the writers put Austin with Kiera thinking everyone was gonna be as racist as them and hate Kiera, simply because she was black, and ship Austin with Ally instead but were very mistaken and shocked by the result. And just like Shawn and Angela, Austin and Kiera (while they don’t even begin to compare tbh) had way more chemistry than their bland ass literally just two conventionally attractive white people couple counterparts.
