otamendi is surely one of the most underrated players in the world because of the herds of overly emotional football fans who can't separate personality from actual quality on the pitch. like, yeah, he's a disrespectful player overall, but his main job isn't to be respectful, it's to DEFEND, and he's still one hell of a defender, which was proved by this world cup (unbeaten on club level this season, champions league included btw)

If otamendi didn’t play for Argentina he would get yellow carded the twice a game.

Maguire was alright he been shaky I done didn't mark giroud well which caused giroud to get infront of him and score, John stones has been way better

When Maguire & Stones were needed most against France, they didn’t step up. Multiple times Giroud kept getting in between them. They had decent tournaments, but can’t be near TOTT shouts.

Very good starting XI in my opnion (some of oyur subs are awfull tho), but you put some players in wrong positions haha. You can't put both Bruno and Griezmann as centremids, they are both attacking midfielders. Feel like you forcing players in this way. It's not a list of best players, it's a team and like this you take away a spot from actual central midfielders.... More importantly it's also just not where Bruno played this tournament, he played right winger... Same with Messi, he played as a striker this tournament.... weird to put him right winger imo. Also would defenitely put Saïss as a centerback over Otamendi. Argentina's defensive have looked so weak and shaky. Only when they played 5 at the back, they were somewhat stable defensively.

Tchouameni hasn't been good enough, conceded a pen against England, his midfield was dominated in the final, Griezman was playing DM at times against Morocco to help him out, he missed his pen in the final and hasn't been convincing in other games too... He's a very good midfielder but wasn't up to it in this WC. I'd put Griezman instead, and Julian Alvarez up top. Otamendi was very good at times and very bad at others (I'm thinking of the pen given to france that changed the game and some other situations like against the Saudi Arabia), plus his height and lack of strength doesn't help him specially in set pieces and long balls. One can easily put Saiss or Varane instead. Enzo is cool, I'd definitely pick Modric instead (Ounahi and Kovacic are good picks too but Modric wins it for me). I agree with you on Molina, one could pick one of Morocco's LBs (way better than Theo H defensively anyways) but Molina was immense for Argentina (Hakimi was the only one better than him in this tournament) deserves a place for me and him scoring that last pen is the icing on the cake. Other than this, very solid best XI 👍
