What I love about the film since I first saw it in 95 is that you're NEVER 100% sure about anything in the end. All we really know is that people are dead, the cops failed, and the bad guy escapes. And 27 years later, it's still the best mindfuck yet.

It doesn't matter how manny times you will watch this movie, you will *NEVER* be able to know what actually happened. Keyser Söze could have been telling the truth, but he made up the names from the bord, so he just as well could have made it *all* up as he went on, to fit what the cops new, or *thought* they knew already! We, the audience, have only Keyser Söze's word for what happened, just as the police did. :D

@@meminustherandomgooglenumbershe was excellent in LA Confidential, too. He steals the scenes he's in. As for judging hin as a human being: Impretty sure there are other people with much worse human qualities among hollywood stars, they jist hide it better, oe the media doesn't care (yet) to blow up. After all media most probably twisted Spacey's story just as much it did Depp's. Which leads us to the problems of modern (mass) media, which is more concerned about incomes than facts... I keep my scepticism, for sure.

2 bits of fan-geekdom trivia. The first weekend of release of this film had a different every other cut that was shown afterwards. This was down to a HUGE slip up by the opening credits. In that edit it openly states within the first minute that "Kevin Spacey as Keizer Sozai". The second is they also made the same mistake on the posters for the film!

The basic idea is called "the unreliable narrator", but yeah, damn, what a masterpiece they made out of it 😎 Though if you think of it, Söze actually lost in the end - he did all of that to remove the one person who could identify him, and now there's dozens of policemen who can identify him, they've got a composite sketch of him, and though they don't show it, they certainly even have video footage of him in the police station.

You should watch Se7en next, then try to convince yourself that Kevin Spacey didn't play the same character in both movies.

This is a film I've heard about but I don't think I've seen the whole thing before. Such tension and a great script! Thanks so much for this George, loved your reaction and really looking forward to watching the whole film with you. I've left some messages for you on Patreon with, among other things, some suggestions for films you might like to react to, for example The Untouchables (1987) with Kevin Costner as Eliot Ness and Robert De Niro as Al Capone. Hope to hear from you soon, Cheers!

Saw this back to back with "Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead" which has the same type of thriller vibe 🎥🤩🙌👍

Excellent film. The Turkish word for "verbal" is "soze". 😊

Worst thing about this film is you can’t watch it twice. The first time is the only time and I wish I’d never seen it so I could watch it for the first time again! Great reaction bro 🤘🏻

You got my sub, I'm making my way through your reactions to my favorite movies : this one, pulp fiction ( going to watch it tonight ) , and I hope you get to react to others , like End of Watch, A Fish Called Wanda, The Green Mile ( and / or Saving Private Ryan ). The list goes on but I'm patient to see what you get to.

I wonder if this movie is the reason police interrogation rooms have blank walls.

The scene at the beginning, the line-up and the laughter... That's genuine. They tried to shoot the scene several times, but it always failed cos the actors for one reason or another would burst into laughter. So, after a while, the director was like "Screw it, do whatever you want"! He intended to let them goof around and later they did shoot the scene right. But after reviewing the material, the director decided that the scene where the actors were screwed around worked better and decided to leave it in the movie. "Shutter Island" has two massive twists in the end, unlike this one... But I liked this one better... One of a kind movie!
