The echo in this video is strong! Wish y'all had recorded it in a smaller space or processed the audio to make it easier to hear. I'm having a really difficult time understanding what is being said when y'all were inside. Outside was fine!

Which protocol and frequency does the Luba use? Is it a professional one like RTCM v3? I have to avoid interference with my other RTK station. Thanks

If you want to install the RTK reference station apart from the charging station (in my case, on top of the building to cover both the front and the back yard), do you need an extra accessory to power it?

In the vid it doesn't specify if the RTK reference station needs to be on the roof. Perhaps LUBA can connect to it even with the house in between (to go to a rear yard, for example). I think this is what the engineers need to be clear on. The house in the vid looks big enough to be a good example; Mammotion, can the mower cut behind the house with the reference station installed in the front as shown in the video? That is the $64,000 question.

Only if they use multiple channels for their rtk signal otherwise they would interfere with each other... But on the other hand one rtk would cover multiple Luba robots

Supposedly shipments will begin in September. See the kickstarter for updates.

RTK, A direct line-of-sight is required and the accuracy at the rover depends on the distance from the base station. That will NOT work with a Lawn around the house.

what happens when Luba (GNSS/RTK rover) is mowing under a tree and does not have open sky view to the satellite constellation?

@@mammotiontech thanks, how far away from the planned boundary will it poibly venture? Does the firmware recognise the lack of locked RTK and in that case does it deliberately keep even further inside the boundary limit and only go out there when it has good locked RTK accuracy?

This doesn't say or show anything in regards to the LUBA being out of the line of sight. What happens when the mower goes around to the backyard of the house? Will it still function with the current set up of RTK?

The signal between rtk and the Luba doesn't have to be direct line of sight if you're close. I'm not sure which are a frequency they're using but some RTKs use VHF and some use UHF it will penetrate a few obstacles

@@David-oz9iv thanks. Luba has told me their RTK has a range of 80 meters. that's not very far and would indicate UHF I guess. UHF would be better penetrating buildings. Luba however recommends to install the RTK on top of the house instead which would indicate VHF. Only Luba can answer that I suppose.

@@ipaulus That 80 meters max distance doesn't sound promising. How can it cut 5000m2 grass daily if it needs to be fenced by 80 meters? Pi*sqr(80) = 20106m2 (UPS!) Still 80 meters is kind of low for any irregular shaped garden like mine.. With biotops/islands of trees and multiple lawns 🙄 This sounded good at the surface, so at least I would need firm answers on range and capacity prior to signing up for this 😳 The 5000m2 is from the specs page.

From the internet (I don´t feel lucky, after readung this 😞 Does RTK need line of sight? Radio Delivery (standalone) A base station receives signal from satellites and transmits the RTK corrections to the rover via radio. A direct line-of-sight is required and the accuracy at the rover depends on the distance from the base station.

Doesn't the Luba get signal directly from satellites as well as the RKT? If so it can work without being in view of the RKT.

How is this rtk system protected vs lightning strikes? Its a metal rod... on an open field, it WILL get hit...

Hi, thanks for your question. There is a chance to get lightning strike if you install RTK on the roof, but the chance is very small on the group. When you install RTK on the roof, you don't need to use metal poles to install RTK, so the lightning strikes won't be a problem. Thank you.
