Things the aliens understand: - Crossing the unfathomable gulfs of space between stars in vessels that can keep them alive amidst the cold vacuum either for centuries at a time or while travelling near to or faster than the speed of light - Some kind of advanced telescopes or radio signal detection to know that there is life to visit on Earth - Weapons that can level human civilization - Teleportation Things that frighten and confuse the aliens: - Putting inputs into a device to control things - Photography - Video - Refridgeration - Calendars - People using different words for the same concept - Sounds coming out of living things - Shitting - Plants - Rocks

We can barely understand other mammals despite sharing most of our DNA with them. Aliens would come from a completely evolutionary line and in all likelyhood we would have nothing at all in common with them. People are laughing at Jerma, but we have no way to know what aliens will be like if contact is somehow ever made and the chances that they would understand us in any capacity and vice versa are extremely slim.

its totally possible that they develop entirely different technology from us and dont end up making nearly any similar creations. What if they dont have cars and just have hats that let you slow down time until you walk to where you need to go, or teleportation, or they could just not have mouths and communicate telepathically, meaning they never invented phones or any of the other inventions that resulted from our kind of verbal communication

It's interesting that you say the ability to make steel is magic. Apparently some early blacksmiths would put animal bones in their molten iron because they thought it was magic and made the metal stronger, when in reality they were making the metal stronger because adding carbon to iron essentially makes a crude form of steel.
@milesholiman55972 жыл бұрын
On another planet, lifeform-985 explains to their fellow lifeforms that their basic technologies, such as the flingleshlop, would be considered magic to ailens.
