Jeopardy! is a pretty straightforward quiz show that doesn’t allow for a lot of time to joke around, but Alex Trebek was still known for his dry, sarcastic sense of humor. When you’re doing the same job day-in and day-out for more than 30 years, you’re going to make the occasional remark that doesn’t go over well. Thankfully, most of these contestants took the jokes in stride, even if the videos did go viral. From laughing at some very wrong answers (or questions, technically) to the time no one knew a thing about football, let’s take a look at some times Alex Trebek was rude to Jeopardy! contestants.

Really rude video title. Not fair to Alex, since he didn't make any rude remarks. All of it was obviously playful banter. People who only see the title and don't watch may assume things.

I think some of these are funny. But I'm surprised the time he said, "In other words, losers" in response to someone talking about some group who called themselves nerds. I don't quite remember the details, but he definitely used the word losers.

tiinaiiceey he knows how to play in a good way. He’s a class act and he still makes my grandma smile and laugh. I pray he beats his cancer. Nobody can replace him.

@ Lyns Grace - That's what we're trying to figure out. I've been watching Jeopardy since Art Fleming was the host - I've never seen Alex being rude to anyone - EVER - and I've never missed a show!!!

Remember that anytime he makes a mistake or has a problem, they reshoot...that's why he never stumbles over words. I know because I have had friends on the show. I knew when I clicked on this, that there wasn't going to be anything shocking, surprising or rude.

Someone doesn't have a sense of humor is they think these incidents are rudeness. He is teasing them and getting a laugh. If a person has no sense of humor or subtlety, then they don't know what is funny or when to laugh.

Alex has a wonderful sense of humor that many of us really appreciate. If you're offended about ANY of it, you should develop "a thinker skin" and stop taking things soooo seriously. Since 2017 so many people are just soft...are meows. I very much enjoy when someone has a creative a twisted & twisted sense of humor.

He talks to returning champs during breaks because he is more comfortable with them. Because well it's not his first time talking to them. So yeah when he jokes around with that guy, "I don't want to talk to you" he was just joking around. You can tell how they both laugh. Guess whomever this video is the rude one.

I remember when he hosted Classic Concentration. A guest match 2 numbers and the prize was a rowing machine. He said oh it is one of those cheap rowing machines that breaks, then caught himself and said just kidding. That was shocking & funny
