Hi Michael! Thank you in any case, even if you don't look at my essay, I just want you to know that you've already helped me and the community with your work. Please keep up! The reading and the lecture are both about the possibility of establishing the moon settlement. The article stresses that despite being an attractive idea, such achievement is not possible for humanity right now. However, the lecturer opposes this opinion and alleges that recent technological advances made it not as unattainable as we expected it to be. The first reason to support his position the author claims to be extremely harsh conditions on the moon that humanity may meet. The moon has no natural protection from such things as solar radiation, and meteoroids as well as a lack of precious atmosphere for us to breathe. Moreover, we don’t possess the technological level to create devices that might protect us from such an environment, but the lecture challenges this argument. The lecturer claims that we already have some solutions that help us to handle these dangers, like the recent research that demonstrates how to make shields from the lunar soil. Additionally, it is possible to establish hermetic underground habitats to protect humans from radiation and maintain a decent atmosphere. Another reason that is mentioned in the article is that the moon lacks the resources that people need to live, but the lecturer opposes this statement as well. It is known now that there is a lot of hidden water in the moon’s polar regions, which would enable us not only to use it for drinking, but also to employ the water chemistry for the creation of such things as oxygen, rocket fuel, and even hydroponic agriculture. Lastly, the author contends on the detrimental effect of moon isolation on human mental health. However, the lecture claims that it is possible to create appropriate living conditions that would support colonizers psychologically, which includes detailed planning, often connections with the Earth, recreation of the Earth’s light, and building open spacious habitats.

Hi Michael! Thanks for all your useful videos and for the feedback opportunity. I'm so excited to receive it from you. This is my essay: In contrast to the reading passage, which emphasizes the implausible and challenging idea of humans living on the moon, the lecturer focuses on giving reasons why this event is possible and affordable. Firstly, the reading suggests that the moon lacks an atmosphere that protects us from meteoroid attacks and solar radiation, both phenomena that trigger our safety. Moreover, the technology that must be used to shield us from these disasters is light years away from being made and is really expensive. However, the speaker points out that recent research has proved the possibility of using essential technological equipment to eliminate these hazards. Furthermore, we could use soil to keep us safe from solar radiation and build underground habitats as shields from meteoroids. According to the reading, crucial natural resources on the moon such as oxygen or fertile soil are scarce. What is more, the transport of these supplies from the Earth to the moon would be incredibly outrageous. Nevertheless, the professor disagrees with this point as well. He states that even though the statement is true, some studies demonstrate that there's frozen water in the Polar region of the moon. Therefore, its extraction would be amazingly useful to produce oxygen and maintain a specific type of sustainable agriculture. Finally, the author claims that human settlement in the moon would trigger detrimental physiological damage to people, due to the challenges in communication and the lack of artistic essence that the earth possesses. In contrast, the lecturer argues that these issues can be avoided with careful planning and the use of technology to create persistent communication with people on Earth. Moreover, habitats with open spaces can be created as well as the recreation of our planet's environment.

There are a few little errors here. I will highlight a few: Don't call settlement on the moon "this event." Just say "this is possible and...". Don't call it "essential technological equipment." I think the lecture talks about "basic technology." Don't obsess too much over paraphrasing the lecture. That often leads to weirdness. Omit "therefore" in the second body paragraph. You don't need it. Overall, I think this essay would score about 25 or 26 points. Nice work.

Hi Michael! Thanks for your videos and for the feedback opportunity. I'm so excited to receive it from you. This is my essay. The reading and the lecture are both about the permanent settlement on the moon is unattainable, while the writer provides three reasons. The lecturer challenges each of them. First of all, according to the reading the writer points out that if people who want to settle on the moon, they will be exposed to Metroid impacts and solar radiations and to avoid this radiation they should have advanced technology which is not currently found. The lecturer, however, counters this idea; he notes that a low technology solution could solve this problem and protect the settlers on the moon, also he mentions the lunar soil which could play an important role in protection from solar radiation, and underground settlement could protect them from meteorite impact. Secondly, the author of the reading claims that the essential resources to live on the moon are missing for example the breathable and fertile soil, also it is a very costly process to transport soils and water from plants to others. Conversely, the professor challenges this point, he says that the polar sides of the moon have frozen water, and by using a technique called hypophonic this water could be used for breathable air, and to fuel the rockets. Thirdly, the reading mentions the social and psychological implication for lunar settlements, he argues that it affects them negatively because being away from social environments affects our mental health, also the absence of the natural ecosystem disturbs our structural life. The lecturer suggests solving this problem to use the V.R technology to stay in contact with loved ones to enhance their mental health, in addition to that he mentions that finding a natural ecosystem by having natural light and open spaces as earth like environment helps to relieve stress.

Hi Michael, I am from Iran. The main idea of the lecture and the reading passage is about the possibility of living on the moon by human beings. In this vein, the author of the reading proposes three main reasons showing that making a permanent lunar settlement would be impossible. On the other hand, the professor in the lecture casts doubts on the points presented in the reading passage, stating that none of them can be convincing. First, the writer suggests that given that the moon doesn't have an atmosphere like Earth, the inhabitants of the moon would be vulnerable to solar radiation and the impacts of meteoroid. However, the professor in the lecture believes that the harsh environment on the moon can be handled by using the soil on the moon as a shield, which can protect human beings. The professor explains that establishing underground habitats can be used as natural shielding for the settlers of the moon. Second, the text argues that human beings cannot utilize essential resources on the moon, which would life mush difficult on the moon. In contrast, the lecturer points out that it is true the moon doesn't have enough resources as the earth does, but there is a huge amount of ice that can be used and extracted as water resources. Those water resources can provide enough oxygen to sustain life on the moon. In addition, water resources can also be used for agriculture through a technique, known as hydroponic. Finally, the reading passage claims that living on the moon would be mentally tough for human beings since that environment is different from the Earth. Nevertheless, the speaker states that regular communication by the use of technological tools would make living on the moon easier. The professor mentions that recreating earth-like environment can mitigate the negative feelings of the inhabitants living on the moon.

Hi Michael 👋 👋.. The passage and the lecture both discuss the challenges and potential solutions for living on the moon. According to the article, there are three primary difficulties associated with lunar habitation. Firstly, the moon's lack of atmosphere leaves it vulnerable to meteoroid impacts and solar radiation. Secondly, there is a scarcity of essential resources such as breathable air and fertile soil. Lastly, the psychological and social implications of living in a lunar settlement are significant, as the absence of natural ecosystems and altered landscapes could pose risks to the well-being of the inhabitants. The author presents potential solutions for each problem. In response to the lack of atmosphere and vulnerability to radiation, the lecturer suggests using local resources, specifically moon soil, to create shielding. This would provide protection from solar radiation. Additionally, the lecturer proposes the possibility of mining frozen water on the moon, which could be analyzed and processed to produce breathable air and oxygen, addressing the issue of resource scarcity. Lastly, the lecturer argues that designing habitats with natural open spaces and recreating Earth-like environments could mitigate the psychological and social implications of living in a lunar settlement. In summary, while the article points out the difficulties of living on the moon, the lecturer challenges these problems by suggesting possible solutions. These include using moon soil for shielding, mining frozen water for essential resources, and designing habitats that mimic Earth-like environments to enhance psychological well-being.

Hi Michael! Thanks for all the Videos. They are all very helpful to us! There has been a controversy about the idea that humans are able to live on other planets, in particular, the moon. It was mentioned in the reading that this concept was close to impossible because of challenges such as the negative effects of radiation on humans, meteor impacts, less resources for survival and lastly future psychological repercussions of the feeling of isolation from our world. However, the lecturer thinks otherwise. According to the lecture, life and living on the moon is attainable which I will further discuss below. First and foremost, the professor illustrates that habitat in the moon is close to possible in spite of challenges claimed in the article because there was research that concluded to technological advancements that soil can be used as shield to protect humans from radiation. Moreover, the underground habitat is a good way of protecting lunar residents from meteor impacts and increases their safety which contest the arguments mentioned in the reading. Secondly, according to teacher, there has been recent discoveries of frozen water on the moon surface that can be extracted and used by the astronauts to generate oxygen, make propellants and even start up producing plants through the process of hydro phonics. This contested the ideas mentioned in the reading that resources are scarce from the moon. Lastly, the negative psychological effects of the feeling of isolation from the earth that was stated in the reading was put into question by the lecturer. The professor highlights that through technological advancements humans living on the moon can virtually communicate with their families or friends in earth by this method. To add, as mentioned by the teacher, they can even re-create the same environment similar to earth to lessen the feeling of isolation.

Hi Michael, thanks for your efforts! ~ from a subtropical country : ) The lecturer and the passage hold completely different view toward the possibility for human settling on the moon. To begin with, the reading mentions that due to the absence of enough atmosphere, the moon may be impact by meteriod and solar radiation, and it would take decades to develop the technology that is capable to overcome these problems. However, the lecturer does not agree, he argues that the problems are possible to handled now. With low-tech solution, such as soil, residents can be protected from solar radiation. Moreover, the underground habitat shields human from meteoroid impact on the moon. Second, the reading argues that the lake of basic resources makes it unlikely to stay on the moon permanently. Nevertheless, the lecturer begs to differ, he points out that that the discover of frozen water on the solar area of the moon may be a game changer. With it, not only could we get the water but oxygen is also able to reach. Moreover, our agriculture technique is now mature enough to plant in a water only environment. Finally, the passage mentions the social intrinsic of human may lead some mental problems for people being isolated on the moon. But again, the lecturer does not buy it, he argues that it can be dealed with regular communication with earth and virtual-tech. It is possible to recreate an earth-like environment that could ease their emotions and pressure.

Hi Michael! I'm from Iran and here's my writing: The reading and the lecture both discuss the possibilty of living on the moon. While the author of the reading asserts that living on the moon seems unattainable and involves munerous challenges, the lecturer is of the opinion that with recent advancements in technolgy, the notion of living in the moon is not impossible at all. First of all, the reading mentions that the moon's environment presents challenges for sustaining human life. Because of the moon's lack of substantial atmosphere, humans will be exposed and vulnerable to solar radiation and meteorite impacts. However, the lecturer firmly believs that we can readily handle these challenges with the help of recent research. There are some low-tech solutions that can be palced on the moon's soil in order to get protection from the sun's radiation. In addition, we can form underground habitats, which in turn shields us from meteorites. Secondly, the author puts forth the idea of scare staple resources on the moon; resources like air, soil, and water. In contrast, the professor reminds us that recent discoveries has undercovered a lot of frozen water in the moon's polar regions. As aresult, a lot of things will become possible. For example, we can generate Oxygen and rocket propellors. On top of these, we can utilize agricultural methods that do not require soil using a technique called hydroponics. Finally, the reading passage mentions the psychological and social effects of living on the moon for humans. It goes on to say that without the presence of natural ecosystems and artistic expressions widely available on earth, human beings will feel disconnection and distress. On the other hand, the speaker asserts that we could easily mitigate this problem by careful planning. We can overcome these issues by regular communication with earth and virtual reality technolgies. In this way, we can maintain our connection with our home planet. Moreover, we can design habitats with natural lighting on the moon that can accurately resemble those on earth. We can also create earth-like environments. In conclusion, the lecturer effectively refutes all of the author's claims by providing appropraiate solution for each of these challenges.

Hi Michael! I appreciate your efforts. In the set of the material, the passage and the speaker present different opinions on permanent settlements on the moon. The passage provides challenges about living on the moon, while the speaker contends counterarguments regarding the raised concern in the reading. First, the passage illustrates that despite the huge progress, human settlement is still questionable since the moon is vulnerable to meteoroids' impact and hazardous solar radiation and there are no safety measures available. In contrast, the speaker states that lately, things have changed, and now it is not impossible to live on the moon. The speaker goes on to say that soil from the moon can be employed for shielding from radiation and underground habitat against meteoroids. Second, the passage depicts that the moon lacks the most pivotal resources for survival such as oxygen for breathing and the soil for cultivation. The speaker disputes that frozen water has been found on the moon and a lot of setbacks can be overcome with it. Including the generation of oxygen, rock and propellant. Besides all hydroponics can also be used, which indeed has excluded the idea of transportation of essentials from the earth. Finally, the passage portrays that the social and psychological implications have a strong negative impact on the resident since humans are naturally accustomed to socializing and if they make a transition to the moon then there can be some devastating consequences expected. On the other hand, the speaker claims that diligent planning can mitigate the negative repercussions. Like building communication and virtual reality, Designing open habitats contrasting with natural lighting and an overall prosper earth-like environment can produce healthy outcomes.

Hi Michael, thank you for your help. The reading and lecturer both discuss about whether or not it is possible to create a permenant settlement in lunar system. While the former states that is unlikely to live in the Moon, the latter contradicts this point by stating that with the help of recent advancements and improvements, problems could be solved and it would be possible to live in Moon. To begin with, the reading states that due to chemical contidions it is not possible to create life conditions in Moon. However, the lecturer points that harsh environmental situation could be handled by low tax. He examplifies that with soil from the moon. He adds that solar radiation would be safer undergroung habitat. Moreover, it would be a natural shield. Secondly, the author mentions that there is no air for our lungs and there is lack of fertile soil that makes life in Moon impossible. The professor contradicts this statement. He says in Moon there are variety of frozen water and water is essential for life. By extraction and using other techniques it would be even possible to create agriculture environment in Moon. Finally, the author’s stance is environmental, psychological issues in Moon. The lecturer counters this by saying mental problems could be solved by careful planning. Thanks to technology, by using virtual reality it would be possible create earth-like environment and that would make it possible to design habitat for humanbeings. He adds that, natural lightning would be helpful for creating a place similiar to Earth environment.

Hi Michael, Thank you for your valuable information. This is my essay: The reading and the lecture are both about living on other planets like the moon. Based on three major reasons, the author believes that perpetual human settlement on the moon is inaccessible until now. However, the lecturer disagrees with the idea presented by the reading passage. She claims that none of them are convincing. The author argues that enduring human life on the moon’s environment is so risky due to the shortage of substantial atmosphere, and people can be exposed to meteoroid impacts and solar radiation. Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea that the severe condition on the moon would be controlled. For example, moon’s soil can be used as protection against solar radiation. Moreover, by building underground habitats, we will be shielded naturally from meteoroid impacts. As a result, people can live in a safe place. Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that the moon has no adequate vital resources which are critical for human beings, such as breathable air and fertile soil. On the contrary, the professor underlines the fact that the existence of frozen water allows capable scientists to extract oxygen, which is crucial for human life. Also, frozen water provides the possibility of agriculture. Finally, the reading asserts that living in constant lunar settlements has psychological and social consequences for individuals. In contrast, the speaker mentions that virtual communication with loved ones and other people on Earth can lead to a decrease in the harmful isolation impact. Moreover, creating houses that benefit from natural light and designing open spaces can decrease the psychological and social effects of permanent lunar habitats. Thus, mental human health will be maintained.

Don't use "based on three major reasons, the author believes...". That's awkward. Try something like: "The author believes that...". It isn't like you need to actually count things in the introduction. Things are presented "in" the reading passage. Not "by" the reading passage. Use "very risky" instead of "so risky." Hi from Iran. Thank you so much for your considerastion and time. Here is my essay Both the reading passage and the lecture discuss the possibility of human settlement on the moon. While the author maintains that it is yet unachievable for humans to relocate there despite huge breakthroughs made in this field, the lecturer believes that a great deal of these difficulties could be handled due to the recent progress. To begin with, the author points out that the harsh environment on the moon involving the lack of atmosphere and detrimental solar radiation effect with no specific shielding system puts the lives of humans at risk. Conversely, the lecturer asserts that this can be managed by employing low-tech solutions to shield people like using soil or the establishment of underground shields to make the condition safer. Moreover, the author believes that humans will face certain resources and breathable air deficiency, and also the lack of soil. He adds that it would cost a lot of fortune to carry all these stuff to the moon. However, the lecturer claims that despite these deficiencies, frozen water has been detected on the moon that can meet humans’ requirements. By doing so, it is possible to provide people with enough oxygen and also employ a hydroponic strategy to cultivate crops without needing soil. Finally, the author argues that isolation and not being in touch with other people can cause mental disorders and anxiety since humans need to communicate with each other. In contrast, the lecturer states that there are some strategic solutions like having regular contact with people on earth, virtual communication, or even the re-establishment of an earthlike society would be effective in lowering their stress and managing their mental health conditions. In conclusion, as opposed to the author, the lecturer holds the belief that thanks to the noticeable progress that happened through these years, the management of human settlement on the moon has become possible

Hi Michael! Love form sealand!❤ The reading and lecture are both about living on the moon, and establishing a permanent colony, While the Author argues and gives three crucial reasons and how much is difficult to live on the moon, the lecture challenges this idea by giving three claims that make a solution for each problem. Firstly, The article mentions that one of the reasons for difficulties to live and establish a lunar colony is a substantial atmosphere which is effected the soil, Unlike the reading, the lecturer believes that we can handle this problem, and he indicates that using soil is perhaps protect our colony for radiation, Additionally, he points out that under the great habitat in the moon, establishing a permanent settlement is not impossible. Secondly, According to the reading, the author emphasizes that on the moon we do not have enough essential resources that necessary for us, such as breathable air and fertile soil, the lecturer however, asserts that we could utilize water in polar regions, Which means we can use it for our soils, moreover we by extracting the water it is possible to use it for agriculture also. Finally, the author puts forth the idea that the psychological and social needs for a permanent settlement on the moon are essential for sustainability, which has a massive impact on our mental health and relationships. In contrast, the lecturer's stance is technology could be used for feeling like the same earth on the moon, also nature could be designed like a world habitat, so both solutions are helpful to overcome psychological and social problems.

The author discusses the challenges we would face living permanently on Moon. He believes our civilization is not yet ready to accomplish this mission and presents three reasons for that. However, the lecturer argues it is not as impossible as it seems with the advancement of new technology. He challenges each point made in the reading. First, the reading suggests that due to the lack of an effective atmosphere, we can not protect ourselves from the harmful radiation of the Sun as well as from meteorites. The author contradicts that we can tackle this issue even with low technology. That is, we can utilize the soil to protect people from radiation. Also, we can construct underground habitats to make a natural shield and ensure a safe living. Second, the passage notes the lack of integral resources would make it challenging to settle on the moon in the long run. Despite that, the author acknowledges the fact that primary resources would be scarce on the Moon, but appreciates the discovery made in recent surveys: There is frozen water on the polar sides of the Moon. He says this is promising for water is crucial for human lives. Thus, we can exploit that water to produce oxygen and agriculture fields. Finally, the author posits that isolation on the Moon will pose adverse psychological effects on people and eventually may cause them to have mental illnesses. On the other hand, the lecturer says we can lessen these effects by careful planing. This means we should use virtual reality tech to connect with our families and loved ones. In addition, we can terraform Lunar's surface by stimulating Earth's natural environments by building open paces and good lighting. (252 Words)

Hey Michael, Tnx in advance for your feedback. The author of the article, as well as the lecturer, discusses the very idea of the possibility of building permanent human settlements on the moon. While the author suggests that this end is not yet accessible, mentioning three reasons, the lecturer rebuts them all, pointing out that the problems mentioned by the author could be solved. According to the article the moon's lack of atmosphere provides its inhabitants with many challenges. In this regard, people living there would be vulnerable to meteoroid impacts and solar radiation. Although the lecturer admits that the moon has a harsh environment, he provides some solutions. He states that due to the advancement of technology and science, we can mitigate the harsh conditions of the moon. In this respect, people can build underground habitats which are safe and are not vulnerable to meteoroid impacts. Using the moon's soil, individuals living there could also make some shields to protect themselves from solar radiation and make their lunar residential environment even safer. Secondly, the writer avers that the moon is deprived of resources essential for human survival. Furthermore, the author indicates that not only breathable air and fertile soil do not exist on the moon, but also transporting likewise supplies from Earth to the moon would be highly expensive. The lecturer, however, has another stance. He suggests that the frozen water in the polar regions of the moon could be exploited to meet the end of providing people with a sufficient amount of vital supplies. Besides that, people settling there could benefit from a technique known as hydroponics which helps people to have access to sustainable agriculture even without the fertile soil. Finally, the reading passage points out that human beings are social creatures who need to have access to interpersonal relationships. The moon settlements, on the other hand, cannot provide individuals with such connections, thus, people living there would experience an isolated form of life which definitely would affect their mental health. Conversely, the lecturer talks about other dimensions of life on the moon. He proposes that inhabitants of the moon could regularly visit the Earth, not to mention benefit from virtual reality. On top of that, houses built there could be designed similarly to houses on Earth, with access to open space and benefiting from natural light. All of these measures could be taken to reduce the psychological impacts of living on the moon.

First of all I want to appreciate your precious work, here is my writing...I will be glad if you express your opinion about my essay and tell me if there are any possible mistakes or suggestions. The article introduces the topic of the settlement of humans on the moon. More specifically, the writer discusses that it is currently unlikely that humans can reside on this planet. The lecturer in the listening passage disagrees. He believes that the reasons mentioned by the author are misleading and opposes the author’s claims. First, the author begins by stating that the moon does not have an appropriate atmosphere and our current technology is unable to protect us from meteorites or detrimental sun radiation. In contrast, the lecturer argues that we can use some low-tech ways to protect ourselves from solar radiation, like making a shield from the soil. He goes on to say that we can even use underground shields to protect ourselves from meteorites. Second, the author also claims that there is no water and fecund soil to sustain life on the moon. Additionally, transporting water and other necessary resources to the moon is expensive. However, the lecturer believes there are flaws in the writer’s argument. He calls this argument into question by saying that some recent discoveries show that there is frozen water in the polar regions of the moon, and we can use this water to obliterate our oxygen and even agriculture problems. Finally, the writer asserts that people are unable to tolerate the emotional and psychological hardships of living on an unknown planet that has no similarity to Earth. The professor in the listening passage is doubtful that this is accurate. He suggests that we can reduce the psychological effect by making regular communication with Earth or using virtual reality technology to minimize this issue. Moreover, we can decrease our stress by designing the environment as we have on Earth. To sum up, both the writer and professor hold conflicting views about the current possibility of humans living on the moon.

Hit "enter" at the end of every paragraph two times to create an empty line. Don't use "discusses that it is". Use "discusses how it is". Don't use "low-tech ways." Use "low tech methods." Don't use "obliterate our oxygen" use "create oxygen." There are more errors, but I think you get the point. Focus on reducing your error count! Overall, I think this one would score about 24 points. Nice work.

Hi Michael! I'm Saloni, a UX designer from India. Thank you so much for this video. Was really helpful to practice the task. I'll be giving my TOEFL in 2 days :) Sharing my essay here: In this article, the author explores the idea of living on the moon, highlighting the difficulties that persist. The lecturer argues that this is an attainable feat based on all the advancements that have been made. He offers various solutions for each of the challenges stated in the article. First, the author posits that the moon lacks a substantial atmosphere for sustaining human life. Residing on the moon would make people vulnerable to meteoroid impacts and solar radiation. The lecturer counters this by suggesting the use of low-tech solutions to overcome these challenges. He proposes that the moon’s soil can be used for shielding against solar radiation, while underground settlements on the moon can protect humans from meteorite impacts. Furthermore, the author highlights the scarcity of essential resources on the moon as a major challenge. He states that the moon lacks breathable air, and fertile soil-resources that are essential for sustaining human life. He also points out that the transportation of these resources from earth would be really expensive, making it non-viable. The lecturer feels that the writer’s argument is flawed, stating that the frozen water on the moon can be used to derive oxygen, rocket fuel and also be a medium for agriculture through hydroponics. The author lastly raises concern on the social and psychological implications of living on the moon. He emphasises that humans are inherently social beings and isolation can adversely affect their mental health. The lecturer says that this challenge can be overcome through careful planning. He suggests the use of VR technologies to keep humans connected, and building of habitats with open spaces to create an earth like environment. In conclusion, the author and lecturer provide contrasting perspectives on the possibility of living on the moon.

The reading and the listening are about the difficulties of living on other planets, especially the moon. The Reading passage argued about three main difficulties that stand on the face of establishing permanent human settlement on the moon, on the other hand the professor from the lecture gave some suitable solutions to these apparent difficulties. First, The Reading essay mentioned that the first difficulty is that the moon lacks the appropriate atmosphere, and the moon is not a save place to live due to the impact of meteoroid and solar radiation. The professor on the other hand argued that the recent research found solutions for these later problems that they can use the soil from the moon to build underground settlements to help as shields from the dangerous solar radiations and the impacts of the meteoroids. Second, the writer discusses that the second difficulty is the sacristy of essential resources for life like the air for breathing and the soil for agriculture. The professor rejects this idea and discusses that the researchers found water on the surface of the moon and if they succeeded on extracting the water, they can easily extract oxygen for breathing by the hydroponics process. Third, the essay mentioned that living on the moon would have bad effects on our mental health because of the isolation life on the moon, although the professor said that communication with earth or create earth like environment would be a suitable solution for this problem. Finally, The reading passage and the lecture are in contrast points of view about living on the moon issue. The reading opposes the idea however the professor supports the idea.

Hi Michael! Thanks so much for all your videos, which helped me a lot! I'd appreciate that if you could give a feedback. Thanks for your time! The reading and the lecture are both about the possibility and feasibility of establishing a permanent settlement on the moon. While the author of the article argues that it is still unattainable for now to achieve the goal of living on the moon despite the technological progress we have made, the lecture disputes the claims mentioned in the article. His position is that establishing a moon settlement is not as impossible as we think. According to the reading, the moon lacks a substantial atmosphere to protect people from meteoroid impacts and solar radiation, and the author believes there is still a long way to go to overcome these obstacles. This argument is challenged by the lecturer. He claims that the soil from the moon can be used to build shields against solar radiation. Also, living in underground habitats can protect people from meteoroid impacts. Secondly, the author states that the scarcity of essential resources like breathable air and fertilized soil also precludes people from establishing a moon settlement. The lecturer, however, believes the great amount of frozen water on the moon can help to solve this issue. By taking advantage of frozen water, people can produce oxygen and develop agriculture without soil, which somehow guarantees the sustainability of the settlement on the moon. Finally, the author puts forward that the psychological and social implications of living on the moon can also be a huge problem since isolation on the moon for a long time can harm mental health and interpersonal relationships. In contrast, the lecturer believes that such side effects can be mitigated through careful planning. People who live on the moon can establish regular communication with Earth. Besides, they can talk to their loved ones on earth frequently via advanced virtual technology. The lecturer also proposes that recreating an earth-like environment in open spaces can help people get used to life on the moon.

Hi Micheal! Joining in from the Moon :P The passage expresses a list of the major difficulties that humanity faces in inhabiting moon. The lecturerer argues that although the points made by the passage are valid, there exist viable solutions to them in the recent advancements in technology. Firstly, the passages mentions that the moon is not a safe environment to live in specifically due to the lack of an atmosphere like Earth's, it is vulnerable to radiation and meteorites. The lecturer claims that there exist low-tech solutions to these issues such as creating a radiation shield from the soil present on moon and living underground to protect humans from meteorites. Secondly, the passage posits that a lack a resources on the moon and expensive transport of the same from Earth is also a huge hurdle. To counter this, the lecturer points out the new discoverey of ice in the polar regions of the moon. If successfully extract, the water can help in producing oxygen to breath, fuel to power rockets and even provide a means for agriculture without the requirement of soil. Finally, the passage brings out the social and psychological aspect of living very far from Earth in a completely new environment. This can cause detrimental effects on ones mental health according to the passage. The lecturer provides solutions to keep the residents of the moon in touch with their loved ones on Earth by means of regular interactions and virtual reality. They go on to suggest construction of open spaces, natural lighting and earth like environments that could help cope with shifting into a completely new place like the moon.

Hi Michael, thank you for your useful videos! I am a grade 8 student and I’m planning to take a toefl test in 2 weeks. It would definitely be helpful if you could give me some feedback or tips😊 In the reading passage, the author states that human living on the moon is unattainable due to 3 reasons. Firstly, the author points out the huge damage of solar radiation and meteoroid impacts on human’s body. The professor proposes 2 ways to deal with this issue. Soil from the moon and underground habitats are options for human to survive through the harmful radiation. Additionally, the professor casts doubt on the author’s another reason that the moon has scarce resources that are crucial to human, and owing to the far distance, it costs a lot to transport resources from the earth, demonstrating that studies that is carried out recently shows that frozen water on the moon surface can be utilized to generate oxygen. Water source and oxygen are both keys to human’s survival. Last but not least, the author states that human living on the moon causes isolation since the long distance between the two planets and the loneliness for having no companion. The professor counteracts this opinion by suggesting some ways human can get in touch with the earth. Human on the moon can apply virtual reality to connect with people on earth, and making the environment look more likely to earth is another way to soothe the feeling of isolation.

Thanks for the video, here's my response: The article introduces the topic of maintaining life on the moon. While the author of the reading claims that it's quite difficult for humans to live there and provides three reasons to support his argument, the lecturer, however, disagrees and attacks each of the claims made in the reading. To begin with, the writer suggests that the moon's atmosphere is not suitable for humans, making them susceptible to meteoroids and radiations from the sun. He also asserts that it's not an easy task to solve these kinds of problems. This specific argument is challenged by the lecturer. He is of the opinion that such issues can be handled by technology. Furthermore, he posits that soil and underground habitats found on the moon could be used to protect individuals from things like meteoroids. Secondly, the author puts forth the idea that natural resources like water and soil are difficult to find on the moon. Additionally, transporting these resources from Earth to the moon is highly expensive. The professor casts doubt on this statement and notes that frozen water was detected in some regions of the moon and could be extracted. Moreover, he addresses other methods of facilitating life there. For example, using generators to produce oxygen there and start egg culturing. Finally, the reading passage suggests that another crucial issue is the psychological and social side of humanity. The speaker believes there are flaws in the author's position. He asserts that this could be overcome with the help of new technologies like virtual reality and regular communication with loved ones. In addition, he supports the suggestion that an Earth-like environment could be produced to decrease the stress of people. So, to sum up, both the lecturer and the writer are passionate about their views on life on the moon and attack each other with every point.

Both the lecturer and the article talked about living on the moon and the challenges. While the article mentioned the problems, the lecturer explained about solutions and how we can start to being the permanent residences of the moon. First of all, Although the article asserted we don`t have the knowledge and technology to build the equipment which would be enough for protecting from solar radiation and various meteoroid situations, the lecturer explained that by building soil shields or by going underground and build structures and buildings there, we will avoid these radiations and meteoroid situations naturally. Next, The author of the article talked about resource problems on the moon. He argued we won't have enough resources on the moon itself and we have to carry them from the earth such as breathable air and fertile soil. The lecturer said we discovered frozen water on the moon recently that we can make oxygen and go for agriculture with new technologies like hydroponics. Finally, The article argued about mental problems the habitants may encounter because of the social nature of humans and how much they are connected to the ecosystem of the earth. The lecturer solved this problem with a suggestion of more and permanent communications with the earth and with being in open spaces on the moon. From Iran Thanks❤

The reading and the lecture are both about the possibility of living humans on the moon, While the author of the reading states that it is unlikely for humans to live on the moon, mentioning three obstacles for this action, the speaker contradicts these claims and provides evidence to the contrary. To begin with, the author of the reading passage states that the moon does not have a suitable atmosphere to live due to the impact of meteorites and solar radiation which are dangerous for humans, and it takes long time for people to enhance their knowledge to make the moon’s environment habitable. However, stand in firm opposition to this claim. The professor argues that harsh environment can be handled easily through low technology. For instance, utilizing the moon its soil can create protective shields against solar radiation. Moreover, establishing underground habitats can provide natural protection shielding from meteorites. Secondly, according to the reading, necessary resources can not be found on the moon’s surface, and without these essential resources such as fertile soil and breathing air, it is hard to continue living. On the contrary, the speaker refutes this argument by mentioning that according to the recent discovery, the moon has a vast amount of frozen water which can be extracted to generate oxygen and rocket fuel. He adds that based on hydroponics technique sustainable agriculture without soil can be used. Finally, the writer wraps his argument by positing that humans would encounter to social problems since the moon’s condition is isolated, and the lack of natural ecosystems may cause mental harm among individuals. Not surprisingly, the lecturer takes issues with this claim by contending that social challenges can be mitigated through careful planning. He goes on by saying that with advances in technology people can stay in touch with their family and friends. In addition, with designing habitats with open areas with natural lighting can be helpful for solving this obstacle. I hope you can check this essay for me

Hi from Azerbaijan ;) In the reading passage, the author mentions the obstacles of living on the moon. However, the lecturer holds a counter viewpoint, asserting that human beings are capable of creating a sustainable life there. Firstly, the author contends that the moon lacks an atmosphere that makes us extremely undefensive to meteoroid impacts and solar radiation. Also, it takes a long time to create a safe environment. Nonetheless, the lecturer notes that it is possible to find a definitive solution to reduce these hazards. For example, we can live in the underground. Secondly, the writer points out that on the moon is a scarcity of food. It makes it difficult to survive for human beings. Without soil and air, it is impossible to cultivate products to meet basic necesities. In contrast, the speaker argues that developing technology provides for the alternative harvest of foods. With this technology, we can produce food without soil. Moreover, ongoing studies reveal that the moon has frozen water which helps to establish sustainable life there. Lastly, according to the reading passage, moving to the moon can negatively impact on individuals’ mental health and interpersonal relationships. Conversely, the lecturer believes that people can maintain their relationships through VR. Additionally, we can recreate the environment which is helpful for people to reduce their stress levels and adapt there.

Hi Michael!!!! Article and the lecturer are presumably discussing possibility of living on the moon. Author construes three obstacles that make it arduous to live on moon. But professor disagree with author claims. His idea is that colonization of moon might happen regardless to challenges. First of all, according to passage, it could be difficult to exclusively live on moon without a substantial atmosphere. Phenomena, such as solar radiation and meteoroids, absolutely have the ability to vastly damage people on moon. Moreover, to colonies the moon, humanity needs sophisticated and advanced technology, which would not developed in next few decades. This argument challenged by lecturer. His puts forth the idea that living on moon is possible with using low-tech solution. For instance, using soil from Earth and establishing underground water could help protect against solar radiation and meteoriods. Secondly, another essential obstacle is the lack of breathable air and fertile soil on moon, which make it arduous to live. Furthermore, transporting such resources from Earth would be substantially expensive process. In contrast, lecturer claims that water could settle all struggles on moon. Utilizing water on moon prematurely helps astronauts to generate oxygen and grow plants, even without soil, thought use of hydroponic processes Finally, author emphasized about detrimentally psychological and social implications. This is because being estranged from Earth could damage mental and interpersonal relationship. In addiction absence of substantial ecosystem could lead feeling monotony and disconnection. In contrast, professor argues that regular interacting with earth and use of illusion reality technology helps astronauts overlook and even mitigate those mental diseases.

Hi Michael, thanks for the helpful videos. Please let me know how you feel about my esaay. Both the article and the lecture discuss whether it would be possible with lunar residences. While the author puts forth the idea that living on the moon is unattainable right now, the professor takes issue with this claim. In fact, the professor believes that it is indeed possible for humans to live on the moon. Firstly, the author of the reading contends that the lack of an atmosphere on the moon creates difficulties for human life there. For instance, the citizens would be at a greater risk for radiation and vulnerable to meteor impacts. However, the lecturer disputes this claim when arguing that recent studies have shown that the struggles the reading announces can be handled. For instance, a low tech solution that uses soil from the moon to create protection from radiation. Additionally, the have played with the thought of having underground habitats for further safety. Secondly, the writer also notes that the scarcity of resources on the moon would by itself make a lunar settlement unavailable. According to the article, the moon lacks both water and fertile soil, which would be undeniably expensive to transport from Earth to the moon. In contrary, the speaker states that there has been seen a presence of frozen water in the polar parts of the moon. This frozen water could be utilized in many ways; such as creating oxygen and a form of agriculture where soil isn’t needed, hydroponics. Lastly, the author concludes by stating that the psychological implications would be horrendous for human beings. It is stated that being isolated, and not living in natural ecosystems for an extended period could take a serious toll on our mental health. As opposed to the writer, the lecturer believes that with careful planning our mental health wouldn’t be at such a risk. In fact, virtual reality can help us keep in contact with our loved ones and create and recreate an earth-like environment.

The lecturer mentions that, though there were some challenges for living on the moon, with development of new technologies the problems has been solved. While, the reading suggests three difficulties which make life on the moon tough. The reading states that the moon does not have a suitable atmosphere which emerge lots of problems for human to live there, because of some radiation shielding and meteoroid. On the other hand, the lecturer posits that the progress of new technologies this problem gradually solved. He adds that human can transfer soil to the moon which make them able to protect themselves from shield radiation. The reading states that the moon has shortage of those things which are vital for human to continue their lives. Moreover, it will be costly for them to carry soil and water to the moon. In contrast, the lecturer argues that it is adoptable that the moon lacks those significant things, but there are water in polers of the moon which human can use to make life easier on the moon. They can have oxygen by using one thing by the name of hiderpanic. The reading suggests that those who travel to the moon are alone, and it has a negative impact on them from psychological point. Whereas, the lecturer mentions that development of new technologies assisted to solve this problem as well. They can use social medias to stay connected to their families and friends on the Earth which do not create psychological problems for them.

Hello Michael, Thanks in advance for your feedback. The reading and the lecture are both about whether it is possible for human beings to inhabit the moon or not. The reading states a number of challenges associated with the moon environment, its natural resources, and detrimental psychological impacts. Although the lecturer agrees with these difficulties, he says it is possible to overcome such problems with the advanced technology. The first point the reading mentions is that the moon's inhospitable environment such as lethal solar radiation and the likelihood of striking meteorite on the moon surface makes it impossible for permanent settlement. On the contrary, the professor asserts that despite the moon's harsh environment, recent studies have shown that by constructing underground shelters using lunar soil, humans will be inviolable from the meteorites impacts. He next declares that in order to be safe from solar radiation, people must wear suitable shields. The next point brought up is that crucial resources including air for breathing and fertile soils are absent on the moon; thus, it is unlikely to establish a sustainable life there. However, the speaker first points out that frozen water on the polar regions of the moon enables people to extract water and meet their needs of oxygen. He next mentions that individuals can propel the rockets through water as the fuel. Furthermore a modern cultivation technique called hydroponics, requiring water rather soil is an alternative solution for agriculture on the moon. Finally, the author notes that prolonged isolation living conditions on the moon is monotonous and stressful, threatening individuals' mental health. The lecturer, however, illustrates that psychological unease can be mitigated through the regular connections with beloved ones on the earth thanks to the online virtual calls. Erecting open spaces with natural light simulating the earth environment alleviate the stress as well.

You don't really need to list the three theories in the introduction. That often leads to problems. In this cause you should have said "the moon's environment". The details in your body paragraphs are excellent, but there are a lot of grammar and language use errors. I can spot one or two in every sentence. That will really hurt you on test day, so focus on grammar as much as you can. Overall, I think this one would score about 21 points, but I think you can do better.

Hi Mike. here is my response, thank you. In the lecture, the professor makes a series of points that cast doubt on all the arguments presented in the reading passage about the difficulties of setting life environments on the moon. In fact, he says that the most recent studies showed that it could be life on the moon. The first area of debate is that the reading passage mentions the moon lacks the protection requirements for people to live safely. People are more suspected of Metroid impact and radiation. The professor thinks that this issue can handled easily. In fact, he mentions that they can use low technological solutions, like using the soil as a shield for people from radiation. In addition, he says that underground habitat works as well for protection. The second controversial area that the reading passage suggested is that the moon does not have the essential elements like water and oxygen to start life. Once again, the professor opposes this point by mentioning that the most recent studies prove that there is frozen water on the moon, and from this water, astronomers can create water, and oxygen, and even use it to grow crops. The final area of dispute is the psychological and social issues that people might experience on the moon's surface. The professor claims that there are many solutions for this issue, like increasing communication by using virtual technology with Earth. Besides, he says that we can create an earth-like environment in order to decrease the loneliness feelings for people.

Hi Michael, thanks for the effort to provide your valuable feedback to our practise questions. Please let me know how you feel about my esaay. The article describes the issues that we might face if we considered settling down to moon. The author states that regardless of remarkable progress in science, it is still not easy to create a livable environment in the moon. The lecturer disagrees. He says that although living at the moon is difficult, it is still not impossible, and attacks each of the claims mentioned in the reading passage. The author begins by stating that the moon lacks substantial atmosphere to protect ourselves from the harmful solar radiations and our current technology is not capable enough to handle this situation. The lecturer, however, disagrees with the author’s claims. He says that this situation could be handled by low tech solutions like using soil from the moon’s surface as a shield to the radiations. Additionally, we can also establish a society beneath the surface of the moon for safety. The author claims that the moon lacks essential resources that are necessary to sustain life like breathable air or fertile soil. The lecturer is not aligned with the author’s position. He says that recent discoveries have shown evidence regarding the existence of frozen water on the moon’s surface and this frozen water could be used to generate essential requirements oxygen. Finally, the author feels it is not possible to sustain life on the moon because of the psychological and social implications of settlement of people so far from their friends and family, that could possibly affect their mental health. The professor in the reading passage disagrees with the lecturer’s point. He mentions that this feeling could be mitigated by sustainable planning. Regular communication via our current technology could scheduled to keep the people in moon in touch with their friends and family members. Additionally, earth like environment could be created to avoid feelings like disconnection. Thus, as we can see, the lecturer and the author of the reading passage hold different opinion about the question of sustaining life on the moon.

This is okay, but there are a lot of little grammar errors. Like: "settling down to moon" (should be "settling ON THE moon) "living at the moon" (should be "living ON the moon") "solar radiations" (should be "solar radiation") "as a shield to the radiations" (should be something like "to build a shield against the radiation") There are others, but you get the point. I think this essay would score 21 or 22 points, but I bet you can do better!

Hi Michael, here is my response Both the reading passage and lecture talks about the possibility of living on the moon. The author of the passage feels that living on moon is not possible and provides three reasons to support the argument. On the contrary, the lecturer feels that the challenges could be overcome to make living on moon attainable. Firstly, the passage tells us that there is no proper atmosphere on the moon which would make humans susceptible to solar radiations and meteoroid impacts. However, the speaker feels that these issues could be handled through low-tech solutions. Soil from the moon can be used for protection against solar radiations while underground habitat can protect from meteoroid impacts. Scondly, the text mentions that the moon lacks essential resources. It lacks suitable and breathable air and fertile soil. In contrast, the lecturer tells us that, with the recent discovery of frozen water in the polar regions of the moon, these problems could be tackled. The water discovered, could be extracted and used for generating oxygen and rocket propellants. It can also be used for agricultural purposes through the process of hydroponics. Lastly, the reading asserts that humans will have to bear psycological and social difficulties and isolation on moon would affect their mental health and personal relationships. On the other hand, the speaker feels that this problem could be avoided by setting up regular communication with Earth and virtual reality. Further, efforts can be taken in recreating Earth-like environment in the lunar environment. Question: the speed of reading in this video is same as the one that we will encounter in the actual test right? Cause i felt that in few videos (other channels) i was unable to keep up with the lecturer. I did not face that problem here. So could you please clarify this? Thank you!

There are a few little issues. I mean stuff like: "solar radiations" (should be non-count) There should not be a comma after "the water discovered" You should have written "can be taken to recreate" Be prepared for a faster lecture. According to the set of materials, the reading passage and lecture both discuss a possibility of living at the moon. The article insists it is hard to live in the moon for human, while the professor in the lecture disputes this argument by suggesting plausible ideas. First, the article mentions that there are several challenges for surviving due to the lack of atmosphere caused by solar radiation. Additionally, the author from the article says that it would take an long time to develop technology to overcome this problem. However, the lecturer opposites this view because it can deal with a advanced scientific technology. Therefore, people can use low-tech solutions, for instance, utilizing soil for the defense of solar radiation. Also, people can cope with this problem by inhibiting underground settlements, that could protect them. Next, living at the moon is not likely because the moon has few source of both air and fertile oil and the cost of transportion them from earth to the moon is expensive. On the other hand, the lecturer disagrees with this opinion as recent discoveries, that proved the moon has a lot of frozen water. It can be a source for surviving. If people extract and use frozen water in the moon, they could generate oxygen for breathing and also apply to agriculture without soil through hydrophonic technology. Last, the reading maintains living in the moon can be lead the physiological and social issues due to isolation. However, the lecturer says that the problem which is mentioned from reading can be midgating by careful planning. People can help maintain the feeling of connection like taking their family from home. In addition, people can recreate similar environment as Earth. Thank you for providing great lecture and materials to study TOEFL :)

While the reading passage claims that living permanently on the moon is never attainable due to some factors, the lecture casts doubts on this point of view by providing convincing arguments. First, the lecture disputes that the moon harsh environment can be handled due to advancements in technology. It argues that the use of soil from the moon and the establishment of underground habitats protects naturally from solar radiation and meteoroid impacts. This refutes the idea in the text which states that permanent human settlement on the moon is challenging due to lack of substantial atmosphere. This is evident in the claim that the use of low tech solutions makes it possible. Second, the lecture claims that the latest study reveal the presence of frozen water on the moon surface. This is supported by the argument that the moon has an essential resource of life which is water. Furthermore, he suggests that from water oxygen is generated that helps in breathing as long as agriculture without soil is done by the technique known as hydroponic. This opposes the idea in the passage which states that the scarcity of integral resources of life on the moon which makes human settlement difficult. Lastly, the lecture refutes that psychological and social isolation on the moon is also mitigated by careful planning. He suggests that regular communication with Earth can be done with virtual reality technologies. Moreover, a recreation of the earth-like atmosphere within the settlement can be done by use of technologies.

Hi michael, can you help me give me a feedback about my response? The reading and the lecture are both about the possibility for humans to embark on settlement life on the moon. While the author of the article argues that this idea is frowned upon in many ways due to its numerous difficulties to live there, the lecture disputes the claims mentioned in the article. His position is that the adverse sugestions alluded by the article can be handle with the advanced technology today. He adhere to his belief a response for each inconsistency illustrated by the author. According to the reading, one of this difficulties may be the lack of substantial atmosphere in moon, the article also mentions its vulnerability to meteoroid impacts and solar radiation. This argument is challenged by the lecturer. He claims that the soil moon can be a creditable use for protection of solar radiation, additionally, he also points out the cogent idea of build a natural sheld againts meteoroid impacts. Secondly, the author sugest a apprehensive view about the scarcity of essential resources, the article notes its impact on the needy for breathable air and a fertile soil. The lecture, however, asserts a keen discovery about the moon, the found of presence frozen water in the soil. With this argument, the professor alucidates that the now days technology can be useful in evolve this frozen water found to produce oxygen for live. He goes on to say about how this can also be acceded to build a fertile soil there. Finally, the author puts forth the idea about the isolation humans may suffer on the moon. The article contends that this isolation can have aggravate effects on our mental health, mentioning adverse feelings like monotony, disconnection and psychological distress. In contrast, the lecturer's stance is again captivate by today's technology. He implies about the creation of virtual reality technologic, not only to solve the implication about the social lack in moon, but also to create designed habitats and earth-like environments to build a feeling of home among the lunar inhabitants.

The reading and the lecture are both about possibilities of colonizing the moon. While the author of the article argues that despite the advancements in technology, the thought of creating a habitat on the moon might prove quite challenging. The lecturer disputed the claims mentioned in the reading passage. His position is that even though it might be challenging it is not impossible. To begin with, the author argues that the Moon’s environment is not suitable for people to live there as it lacks an appropriate atmosphere. Plus according to the article, the meteoroid impacts and solar radiation are different issues that makes it harder for people to live on moon. However, the lecturer directly challenges this claim by emphasizing that using low tech solutions these problems can be easily handled. He further elaborates this point by providing an example that Solar radiation can be tackled if we use moon soil to protect us against dangers of solar radiation. And by building underground habitats people can be saved from the meteoroid impacts. Secondly, the author suggests that Scarcity of the essential resources on the moon is the critical problem. The article notes that two essential resources on which Human life survives on the earth; breathable air and fertile soil are not present on the moon. Nevertheless, the lecturer asserts that evidence shows signs of frozen water in polar regions of the moon. And he goes on to say that if we find ways to abstract and utilize this frozen water, it can be utilized to create oxygen to breathe. Moreover, we don’t need fertile soil anymore, thanks to special technique called Hydroponics. Finally, the author puts forth the idea that Humans are social animals and are bound to have interpersonal relationships and social life. The author contends that absence of natural ecosystems, isolation and disconnection can affect mental health. However, the lecturer points out that these feelings can be mitigated if advancing technology is used properly. Additionally, he says that if people from moon regularly connects with their loved ones on earth via virtual reality and if natural habitats are created on moon that mimics earth like environment, there should not be a hurdle to stop habitat on moon.

Hello Micheal. Both the passage and the lecture discuss the possibility of human life on the moon. Although the author believes there are numerous challenges that make it almost impossible for humans to live on the moon in the long run, the lecturer opposes this perspective by reasoning how the settlement can be established. First, the moon's atmosphere poses a challenge in preventing solar radiation and numerous meteoroid impacts. To solve this problem, we require advanced technology which has not yet been developed. Meanwhile, the author disagrees by providing solutions to solve the problem. For instance, he mentions building a shield using the moon's soil or establishing an underground habitat to shield life from meteoroid impacts. Next, the author believes that moon lacks the crucial resources like oxygen and proper soil to build and develop a settlement. Moreover, transferring such resources from Earth to the moon is extremely costly. However, the professor mentions the recent discovery of frozen water on the moon which is crucial for human life. He continues to explain that this water can be used in order to produce oxygen, rocket fuel, and a special type of agriculture. Lastly, since humans are very social, the mental health of those who live on the moon can be greatly impacted and threaten the habitat. Nevertheless, the lecturer proposes solutions to overcome this obstacle. Furthermore, he introduces VR technologies to simulate the earth's environment, constant communication with the person's loved ones, and using natural light to create an earth-like ecosystem for the residents of the moon.

I want your feedback please 🙏 😊 Both the reading and the lecture are about the idea of living in the moon. The viewpoints of the atricle's author and the lecturer regarding the challenges that face the implementation of this idea appear to be different. On the one hand, the author states three potential difficulties of making settlments on the moon. On the other hand, the lecturer opposes the author and explains how the auithor's claims relating to these challenges may lack precision since he confirms that recent technological advances can make this idea more possible to happen. First, the reading suggests that there are many challenges related to the moon's harsh environment. According to the reading, the lack of atmosphere in the moon may cause people to be in the danger of meteoroid implications and harmful solar radiation. However, the lecturer challenges this idea. He notes that this problem could be handled by the usage of low-tech solutions. He states that we can use the moon's soil to help in protecting people from radiation. He also asserts that underground habitats can be used as a shield for further protection from these environmental dangers. Second, the author claims that the lack of important sources in the moon is a vital obstacle since we will not get the resources that sustain life on earth such as breatheble air and fertile soil. On the contrary, the lecture has a different idea about this matter. He argues that recent discoveries assure that there are sufficient amount of frozen water in the moon's polar regions which could be a good source for life. Furthermore, he contends that the existence of this water source could help in the production of oxygen and enhancing agriculture by a technique so-called hydroponic. Finally, the author mentions that the psychological and social impacts is also a challenge because living in insulated place can have negative effects on people. In contrast, the lecturer indicates that this problem could be alleviated by careful planning. Moreover, he says that establishing connection with earth and creating habitats in open space with natural light could mitigate this challenge since this will create an environment that is so similar to the earth's environment. In conclusion, the passage's author and the lecturer hold very different perspectives concerning the challenges that restrain the idea of living in the moon and making human colonies there.

First, the author claims that the moon’s atmosphere is not appropriate because of meteorites and solar radiation. However, the lecturer suggests that we can transcend this obstacle explaining that we can use the moon’s soil to protect us from solar radiation, and we can build underground shelters to avoid meteorites. Second, the author claims that we can’t live on the moon because of scarcity of natural resources. In response, the lecturer points out that scientists found frozen water on the moon, which they can separate and make oxygen from. She added that with water, they can make agriculture without soil using hydroponics technique. Third, the author suggests we can’t live on the moon due to isolation and absence of earth ecosystem. However, the lecturer indicates that we can use virtual reality technology to connect with our dears on earth. In addition, if we design a settlement on the moon with open places and natural lights, we would feel we are at home. Also, we can do a mimicry of the earth planet at the settlement.

Hi Micheal, am from India. Can you please review my essay? my test will be in a week. In the ongoing discourse surrounding human habitation on celestial bodies, the issue of humans dwelling on the moon emerges as a contentious point of contention. While the author of the reading passage articulates certain precarious effects and potential drawbacks associated with lunar colonization, the professor in the lecture opposes these arguments with a nuanced perspective. In this essay, I will analyze both the reading passage and the lecture shedding light on their respective viewpoints and underlying rationales. Firstly, the passage posits the moon’s exosphere and states that if people had lived on the moon, they would have faced a myriad of catastrophic events such as radiation from the sun and meteoroid's dire ramifications. Moreover, the technology required to shield us from these impacts is beyond the level of reach. In contrast to this, the lecture emphasizes that these are not insurmountable problems and suggests that soil on the moon can be used to protect us from solar radiation, and underground settlements on the moon shield us against the meteorite effect. Secondly, the passage highlights the scarcity of essential resources on the moon required for sustaining on the moon and points out that there is no breathable air and fertile soil. Furthermore, he explains that transportation of these resources from Earth will be absolutely expensive. To this, the lecture censures and elucidates that frozen water on the moon can be used to get oxygen. Additionally, the lecture also states that hydroponics can be practiced by using frozen water as a medium. Finally, regarding social and psychological implications, the passage asserts that humans have an innate need for social interactions. The lecture presents a rebuttal to this statement and lauds that VR technologies help humans to stay connected and be sociable. In essence, the lecture systematically dismantled the key points made in the reading passage about human colonization on the moon and provided us the most cautious and skeptical views highlighting the challenges.

hi how are you could you revise this essay for me The reading and the lecture are both about how agnostid species lived in the past, While the author of the reading brings up three theories about their features, the speaker contradicts these claims and provides evidence to the contrary. First of all, the author of the reading passage states that the agnostids might have been free-swimming predators since other types of primitive arthropods were strong free-swimming predators. However, stand in firm opposition to this claim. The professor argues that it is unlikely for the agnostids to be free-swimming creatures because they do not possess well-developed eyes like arthropods for catching prey. She adds that vision is the best way for free-swimming predators to hunt their prey. she goes on by saying that agnostids had poor eyesight or were completely blind, so they might have had another sensitive organ to catch prey. Secondly, according to the reading, the agnostids were seafloor Dwellers like arthropods, and they survived by eating dead organisms or bacteria. On the contrary, the speaker refutes this claim by mentioning that seafloor species actually could not move so fast, and were slowly moving around their colonized habitats, However, the arthropods had the ability to move fast and colonized multiple habitats in different regions. Therefore, the ability to move fast is unlikely for seafloor dwellers. Finally, the writer wraps his argument by positing that possibly the agnostids might have been parasites, living on the larger animals. Moreover, many modern arthropods are parasites such as mites. Not surprisingly, the lecturer takes issue with this claim by contending that if were parasites, they would have a small population. In this vein, parasites should be in limited numbers in order to not kill the host. In addition, according to the agnostids fossil records they had a large population.

Hi michael, thanks for all of your efforts, I really appreciate it. he article and the lecture both discuss the impediments of human settlements on the moon. While the reading suggests despite the advances in space exploration it is still unlikely for humans to dwell long periods of time in the neighbor planet and counts numerous obstacles over that path, the lecturer takes the opposing view and claims that this goal is not as impossible as it was previously thought. First, the reading suggest that due to the lack of substantial atmosphere, humans will be exposed to meteoroid impact and solar radiation, therefore humans living on the moon would be in constant risk. The lecturer, however, notes that although those risks exists, but there are some low-tech solutions to overcome them, solutions including building shields from Moon’s soil or establishing underground habitats could save us from solar radiation and meteoroid impact respectively. Second, the passage claims that scarcity of essential resources on the moon such as, breathable air or fertile soil acts as a significant obstacles to settlement over the moon. The lecturer, on the other hand, disagrees by saying that recent discoveries revealed that there are massive resources of frozen underground water in polar areas of the moon, and by extracting and expending those resources we could produce breathable oxygen, cultivate the moon’s soil and also create fuel for rockets. Third, the article asserts that long periods of isolation could have harmful psychological and social effects on the moon’s habitats. The lecturer, on the contrary, claims that these impacts could be overcome by careful planning. By providing constant connection for the residenets to their families and loved ones, designing open space habitats and creating earth like environments we could mitigate these dangerous effects and insure a safe environment for the settlers.

My response. The reading and the lecture are both about the numerous challenges we face in order to make a permanent settlement on moon. The author believes the idea is unachievable with our current technology and we need to progress a lot in order to accomplish it. The lecturer disagrees with reading’s claims and critiques each of the author’s arguments. According to the author, the environment of moon leads to a number of challenges that might prove to be threatening in order to sustain life on moon. The article asserts that the lack of atmosphere will make it relatively easy for the solar radiations to reach the surface and it would also allow for meteor’s to constantly bombard the surface. Overcoming these would require advancements in technology far superior than we have today. The argument is challenged by the lecturer. He claims that these issues can be mitigated with current low-tech solutions. Humans could use soil in order to make a shield to protect them from solar radiations. He emphasizes that, creating an underground habitat would also help humans to create a shield against meteors. Secondly, the author suggests that the lack of essential resources on moon will make it difficult to support our existence. The article claims that the absence of breathable air and fertile soil will require us to transport them from earth, a process that is both time-consuming and costly. The lecturer, however, asserts that the recent discoveries in the moon’s polar region has found an abundance of ice water present on moon. He continues by stating that we could utilize ice water to create oxygen for humans, rocket propulsion systems and practice agriculture via hydroponics. Finally, the author puts forth the idea that isolation on moon would result in severe implications on our mental as well as physical health. The author contends that absence of natural landscapes and ecosystems would only make it difficult for us to survive in the lonely environment. In contrast, the lecturer’s stance is that, we could use virtual reality in order to connect with the people present on earth. With a regular communication planning, the humans can effectively communicate with their loved ones. In conclusion, both the author and the speaker are fervent in their beliefs and disagree with each other on every point. Thanks a lot.

Like: "that might prove to be threatening in order to sustain" (should be something like: "that might make it difficult to sustain") "solar radiations" (should be just "solar radiation") "has found" (should be something like "has revealed") Overall, I think this essay would score about 22 or 23 points. But you can do better!

Hi! Thank you for a lot of helpful videos. I would like you to check my essay. According to the reading passage, settlement on the moon is still a dream and not likely to happen because of the persisting numerous difficulties. The lecturer, on the contrary, disputes this argument and claims that thanks to the advanced technology human beings have developed, those difficulties could be overcome. First of all, the reading passage argues that the environment of moon, especially the lack of atmosphere makes it difficult for humans to settle because they will be exposed to the harmful radiation or the meteoroid impacts. The technology for those possibilities is by far beyond the current level, according to the reading passage. However, the current technology is already able to solve this, states the lecturer. He demonstrates some examples of it such as making shield from the soil of the moon. Secondly, the reading passage mentions that the moon does not fulfill the lists of essential resources such as breathable air and fertile soil. Sending those stuff from Earth would even be costly. However, the lecturer challenges this and explain that humans can utilize the frozen water in polar region of the moon and make breathable air by using the advanced technology, called hydroponics. It is not impossible for us to breathe on the moon. Finally, the reading passage insists that moving to the moon probably affect negatively on humans’ mental health and interpersonal relationships. Isolation on the moon as well as the lack of natural ecosystems, changing landscapes, and the loss of experiences common on Earth lead to the humans’ feelings of disconnection. The lecturer opposes this and says that these challenges can be prevented by careful planning and the use of virtual reality technology. Virtual reality technology allows humans to feel less isolated or disconnected. Also, humans can recreate Earth-like environment so that they won’t feel depressed.

This is pretty good, but there are some grammar and language use errors. Like: 1. "the persisting numerous difficulties" (should be something that sounds normal like "numerous difficulties." 2. You need a comma after "especially the lack of atmosphere" 3. You should write "and explains that" (note the verb ending) There are more, but I think you get the point. I think this one would score about 23 or 24 points.
