I know these shows are all old, but when I was growing up the public TV stations here in the southern US would have "Britcoms" every Saturday night. I used to watch British shows like Are You Being Served?, Keeping Up Apprearances, Mr. Bean, Vicar Of Dibley, Black Adder, Etc. I'm currently obsessed with Doctor Who.

To be fair, this list could have been called "Top 10 American Shows Everyone is Obsessed With, Regardless of the Country in Which They Live." Even if I don't agree with the other people's fondness for the shows mentioned, they are pretty much the most well known shows the U.S. has produced.

Yes True Blood and Stranger Things!!! I would’ve put Sons of Anarchy on here me and everyone I know was obsessed with it, great show and the big bang theory it’s shown on TV every day!

Makes sense an all British cast is in American production such a Game of Thrones since we had an American cast in a British production such as The Lord of the Rings.

Marcus Gutierrez Lord Of The Rings was not a British film. It was filmed by a New Zealand director in New Zealand for a New Zealand/American production company. As for actors Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen and Sean Bean, Christopher Lee, are all pretty British.

If you can get it, I strongly recommend The Handmaid's Tale. Don't know if it was supposed to be an honorable mention or anything, but it's a GOOD show. And, here in the US, it's eerie how a lot of today's issues are leaning to such a development like in the storyline of THT.

Game of Thrones should have been #1...never understood the fascination with Breaking Bad ( great actor though ). Glad True Blood was mention, Stranger Things and Big, Little Lies.

Westworld should have been an honourable mention and GOT should have got 2nd over Big little lies - I loved the show but hardly heard anyone recommend it over here in the UK

mostly good choices, I have been getting bored by Waking dead though, but ill keep watching Westworld and Lucifer (but nothing will ever beat Firefly)

Most of the shows on the list have already finished long time ago. True Blood, The Mentalist, The Wire. This list is shows that are obsessed with us Brits past or present. 24 was popular here.

I wish some of these were remade in Britain. I want to see a British Stranger things that takes inspiration not from American 1980's films like Jaws,E.T., Carrie and IT but instead one that takes inspiration from an era and film from Britain like, like a series set in the 70's taking inspiration from Village of the Damned, The Wicker Man, Hammer Horror Movies, and classic Doctor Who. I for one imagine "Eleven" as being one of the Children of the Damned fitting quite nicely. I would also want to see a British remake of Breaking Bad. Why not? There was a Mexican remake. I imagine there would be creative ways of getting around the lack of firearms. Then again I'm reminded of the British adaptation of the American book Fahrenheit 451 where firearms were added despite not being in the book which I think is ironic.

Why don't you make a video about all the shows that Britain has copied from America? The following list is only a small sample. -The Apprentice -Are you smarter than a 5th grader? -Card Sharks -Family Feud -The Golden Girls -Hollywood Squares -Jeopardy -Jersey Shore -Law & Order -Married with Children -Match Game -The Price is Right -Saturday Night Live -That 70's Show -Wheel of Fortune -Wipeout All these shows are originally American that would eventually be later copied by the British.

Should Family Guy or The Simpsons not be on this list. There on primetime TV every day and have been for years. You might not like them, but they must get good viewing figures or else why would they show them so much.

Matthew Hauxwell The Simpsons has been on Channel 4 at 6pm since I was a kid. I'm 30 and its the same time. Can't get bored of the classic Simpsons episodes

It's a show filmed in Europe with a british cast and british accents but its based by the books of an american writer and airs on HBO . See the difference

They should do a list of the opposite, British TV shows America is obsessed with. Although they'd probably just have to narrow it down to top 5, unfortunately we Americans don't watch a lot of UK TV shows, except maybe Doctor Who. Update: They did, they made it.

Well most media with the english language is made in the US. Its bigger and has a higher population. So of course we would love shows they made P.S. The Walking Dead is shit and overrated. I stopped watching during s4 it was that bad

I don't know why we even try. I can't think of any British TV series that has aired within the last 20-25 years, besides _The Office,_ that had a successful American version.
