Hip pain can make it difficult to perform everyday activities. Here are three of my favorite hip exercises to help strengthening the muscles, relieve pain, and reduce tightness. Buy a worksheet with these hip exercises at www.askdoctorj...
Bridges, clamshells, and straight leg raises (SLR) are all simple exercises to get started. They can be done on a couch, bed, or on the floor. These should help strengthening the hip, knee, and back, as well as loosen up tight hip muscles and relieve pain in the hip and low back area.

I’m 37 weeks pregnant and in absolute pain that I want to cry. My right hip is killing me, so is my pubic bone. I can’t wait to try this to get some relief.

From last 1 week I'm feeling pain in right hip everytime i practice middle split however am practicing split from 1.5 month but never feel pain before but i stopped it for 1 week due to periods and when i started it again I'm feeling pain so I'm gonna try these excercises... Thank u😊

I hope this will help me. It's a couple of months now that I'm having a pain in my groin and lower back. The doctor said it is the front of my hip problem. Hip wear he called it. I can't come out of my bed easily or walk properly. So I hope these exercise will help

Hey Dr. Jo! Thank you so much for these videos, you are a life saver! Was wondering if you had any stretches for anconeus epitrochlearis? Been lurking in the internet but there are just stretches for the regular anconeus - any advise or does the same applies?

I noticed that my foot points outward instead of straight when climbing stairs. I have terrible hip and knee pain. Is there any way to help this?

Possibly, but unfortunately, I don't know that answer since I can't evaluate you. Everyone is different. If there is any way you can see a physical therapist in person, they should be able to help you figure out a specific program for you and help answer your questions.

Hi. I'm going to give these a try. I'm an older lady and can't do a lot. I've been having pain in my hip and hurting all the way down to my ankle for weeks. I've been putting off going to the doctor because my deductible is $8000.00. Thank you for any help.

Also, check vitamin C level. If low, it inhibits collagen in your joints. It is scurvy, which affects joints

Are these ok to do if the pain originates in the lower back. I've never had this kind of hip pain from my back. It's also going down to the groin area sometimes. My chiropractor did tell me to do the bridge and another core strength exercise, but the last time I saw him, I wasn't having the hip pain.

It depends on what is causing the pain, but generally, walking is good when finding the right amount of working the muscles, but not too much where it makes the pain increase.

Unfortunately, I don't know that answer since I can't evaluate you. Everyone is different. They might be worth trying, but if there is any way you can see a physical therapist in person, they should be able to help you figure out a specific program for you and help answer your questions.
