In Pursuit of the perfect OEM Spec Modifications:
Today we install front recovery points, which I believe should come with it stock, or at least an option available for purchase through Toyota accessory catalog.

Good video, thanks! Just, please, note (and you may have mentioned this but, admittedly, I did not watch every minute of this video) that the install is different if you have KDSS, as I do. With KDSS, it involves taking off the front bumper and crash-bar. I did it myself and it wasn't too bad but it's definitely hairy taking of your front bumper for the first time. But the install went great and they are really solid recovery points.

Thanks for another great and informative video! Thank you for doing this in your garage without a lift. I know it was 10x more difficult, but that's how most of us are goign to do it. This gives me confidence to tackle this job myself. I really appreciate your videos.

I live in Connecticut, I had a 2012 Acura tsx drove it year round. Sold it in 2022. Undercarriage was rust free. Just get your vehicle washed often in the winter and make sure the the undercarriage spray

Looks good but personally I would have waited till I washed the salt off the frame instead of mounting a bracket to the frame trapping road salt in between.

I shot the video, then washed the frame, then mounted them on a clean frame. I showed you guy as how to install them, then remove them to clean the frame properly.

Awesome, another great video! I added these a cpl years ago, I think a necessity if not going the after market bumper route. Also would have to agree with @dsaltlife2925, I would have cleaned surface where metals mate and even hit it with your choice of rust protection (Woolwax fan here :))

Awesome lighting upgrade to the garage and the recovery points look fantastic. I am about to take the plunge and order the Morimoto XB LED headlights, are you still loving them? I am in northern New Jersey also and man all that salt on the underbody is so depressing.

Yeah this Salt gets to be a bit much. I honestly don’t love the headlights as much as I should. I’m eventually doing another do’s and don’ts. If I was you I would research them, there are some flaws in my opinion.

@@VikingsGarage Thank you for the insights. One of my headlights was damaged and I need to replace it, so was thinking of going with the Morimoto's since a new pair cost the about the same as one OEM headlight. I will probably just go with the OEM headlight. Thanks VG!

Wash the chassis with salt away thats what i use in Hawaii due to ocean waves getting on the roads and salt spray everyday

Does adding those mess up alignment being how your now lowering your sway bar and putting a little bit of pressure on sway bar links

6 months or so after installing these I installed a C4 bumper. Makes these redundant. So if you’re planning to install a bumper, don’t bother with these. Having said that, 2 months after installing my recovery points I needed them. 👍🏻

Do you usually wait until it warms up above freezing to wash off the salt? Do you do it yourself or car wash?

I wash underneath this truck every chance I get, myself and at the car wash (as in self service type) Never wait for better weather!

That was my situation. Installed a C4 bumper 6 months after these. They are redundant after the bumper

@@VikingsGarage I guess the way the bracket mounts to the radiator support and the frame reinforces that area??? Knowing that they are for towing I wouldn't use one that's rusted for anything. Thanks.
