Hadyn I gotta say man I'm loving the training vlogs, actually looking forward to seeing each video and following along with your progress. Also side note your brief explanation of dip form just fixed my technique so cheers for that lol

Thanks a lot, glad to be of help on the dip form. I still need to get better at it myself but it definitely makes a difference!

@@HadynWiseman They look good, but I can see a bit of scapular winging. Anytime I do heavy weighted dips, my form tapers off for the last 2/3 reps and I start winging too, but I reckon that's unavoidable when you're loading up dips for more than 30/40kg.

Personally I built my DIP technique to have the biggest range of motion possible with the most tension in the stretched position. I get huge tricep pumps and soreness from moderate to light loads, which I figure puts less strain on my joints and lets me do the heavy stuff where it counts (DL,BP,SQ). Great to see you jumping head first back into things though, seems like your super busy but your making time to train and sticking to your program like glue, cant wait to see you catch up and exceed what you could do before the break GLHF!

Let's hope so. Going up a weight class should help a lot as well so we will see. Thanks a lot!

Really enjoying seeing you get back into it from a relatable weight (rather than your previous unattainable weights). You said you squatted yesterday and today, and that you bench heavy/light/heavy/light. Surely not every day, right? How many times a week are you benching, how many squatting and how many deadlifting now? I always felt every second day was good for bench and squats, but that seemed way too much for deads for me. Personally if I don't bench at least twice a proper bench (not a variant) a week, my technique degrades - do you find this too?

Benching 4 x per week but they are a day apart normally, 2 light and 2 heavy. Squatting 2 times once heavy and once lighter which you see here. Then same with deads. I also find the same on bench so need high frequency. Deadlift is too demanding to do more than twice per week

Really liking these. How long do your sessions generally take? Could you show any warm up/cool down/cardio you do on top?

They take around 1.5 to 2 hours. For warm ups I start with joint circles, then dynamic stretch then just work up to my top set. It's not very interesting to be honest haha

Training at home I always struggle to motivate myself to do the accessories once the hour mark ticks past, might have to copy your strategy of heading to the gym to get the volume in!

Yeah it is hard for me too, especially when I'm ruined from the main part of a session

Love weighted dips. You have any tips for balancing training with work? Starting with KPMG soon, and I'm concerned about busy season and the like interfering with my lifting schedule. I recall you mentioning you're an accountant as well.

Yeah that's right I started with PwC. The biggest thing for me was making sure I had stuff at home so on busy days I could always get it done. When travelling I always used to look for a local 24 hour gym too

in retrospect how was the powerlifting prep with eoin and daire vs prepping with erik?
@HadynWiseman
@HadynWiseman 11 ай бұрын
Completely different approaches, I liked them both in different ways. Sika was like hard on many sessions and more traditional. No RPEs just stated weights and like if the weight is lighter the reps are higher so every set ended up like rpe 8. With Erik there is more variation is the difficulty of each set and a lot more top singles. There's a lot I could talk about
