DEF BYPASS/DELETE & AFTER EFFECTS, should I bypass the def system, why not to delete def in semi trucks. What happens when you bypass def in trucks, freightliner after DEF bypass problems. Warranty voids after bypass DEF in trucks.

EGR needs to be blocked off on both intake and exhaust. Use expansion plugs P/N 555-030 and P/N 55-044 block both ends on your flex pipe that one that looks like a telephone. Intake side unbolt your crossover pipe and put a plate between it and your intake manifold. This will prevent any intake or exhaust leaks. Good luck.

It's not the Def, it's the EGR, if you don't deleted too, you will keep having those issues, I know it's illegal but it is what it is.

It look's to me that excessive back pressure is being pushed back through you're egr valve. The couplers are getting excessively hot from the exhaust causing them to swell and give out. A proper tune that shuts your egr valve and bypasses the doc and dpf sensors and reflashes the ecm so that the truck's turbo and fuel management system run properly with the timing would also be needed. Enabling or having the egr valve open will cause that issue because 100% of exhaust that can flow through the valve and tube is being pushed back into your intake manifold. Not a good thing for these or any diesel motor. Honestly I wish companies that know what they are doing and specialize is diesel programming like SCT, BULLYDOG, EDGE PERFORMANCE, ect. Would get into commercial truck programming. These are the only companies I would honestly trust, IF they were actually to get into it. Best of luck to you.

Also make sure you do something with your DPF it will need to be drilled or hollowed..

It’s ok to delete the def and dpf but egr is design for the engine pressure,heat and performance. You never delete the egr,just clean it with spray egr cleaner from the intake hose or take it apart and clean it every 50000 miles

the EGR should be blocked off right on the exhaust side before the EGR cooler usually a plug is welded in

True at the c tube that connects the the exhaust to the egr cooler then you must unhook the dpf pump then unhook the fuel doser valve block on the back fire wall if not the engine will smoke because it will shoot diesel into the exhaust. There is no problem with the truck but the problem they created not deleting it correctly

@@CASHMONEY04444444444 on the Detroit DD series engines you cannot do that. It is part of the coolant header. All you can do is block off the exhaust flow from both the entrance and exit of the cooler. Allowing the coolant to just freely flow through it. If the exhaust side is blocked off it will never leak and if it did it will never leak out of the engine meaning it'll outlast the engine like it is.

All he did was weld up the elbow going into the intake so its building up pressure. Its not deleted

Just figured out our truck same issue. Dumb "mechanic" did not gut SCR chambers in ATD. He only removed the DPF filters in the top. That is from back pressure from the exhaust. Im sure you have low power as well.

They made holes on mine but it throws alot of white smoke sometimes. They have to gut the scr box? But does it sound real loud ?

A friend of mine got a 2012 Freighliner cascadia DD15 engine,after he deleted the Def,he drove about 200miles and he heard some knocking on the engine along with a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust,he drove about 10miles to a truck stop and fire started to came out of the exhaust pipe,the Def system was very hot and the plastic near that was melting,also the cylinder N5 had no compression. Any ideas about what happened please? What Is the cause. What can he do

If truck caught fire call insurance company and they will total the truck and pay in full. Don't mention about def bypass to insurance. They put heat Guage inside truck to monitor exhaust heat but mostly new mechanics ignore that

yes. they ran extra pipes to DEF exhaust.

@@srt8310 most of the shops don't do that. But some people do it if they couldn't solve the problem without drilling holes to def filters. White smoke could be due to some other issues, (fuel injectors, egr cooler) please get it checked out.

Take that elbow out , weld it shut , then put everything back again , no issues.

I wont do that because now you putting excessive pressure on the EGR cooler. You need a plate near the turbo.

lilchalino Easy bro Find a tuner guy Gut the cans that hold the filter elements, drain def fill with water 1/2 way and weld a plug in the egr cooler hot side. Don’t tell anyone 😂 enjoy the good running motor

That delete is awful i bet he didn't even close the hose near the turbos and in instead did it on that side you are looking at. Those hoses are fighting the pressure from the turbo. He should had installed a metal plate near the turbo that would keep the gases from going back to the side of the engine.

What if you run a straight pipe past the dpf filter system and leave stock everything connected?

Yes. They do similar. Block emission system. Run straight pipe inside. And downgrade the computer software to old years so computer don't look for def system.

You will have a engine light due to no temp registered by temp sensors/ diferencia pressure sensor and forgetting issues whit your nox sensors signals

Pay some attention on this specific unit that have 3 rd sensor on scr aystem ( amonia) if you have this 3r sensor call you dealer is posible they replace your scr out charge and reprogram your system

Also keep in mind you discomposition tube for DEF fluid acumulation pluging flow and ingector tip.it will have also reaccion on inlet nox sensor if you have a DEF header isaues and have replace couple time pay attention on def coolant flow valve funtion good luck

I need help I have a peterbilt 387 2011 we by pass the DEF and my turn off all of sudden when going up the hill or down the hill loaded we try to fix the problem by replacing the fuel pump change the sensors and lines and still doing it anybody has same problem?

I’m about to buy a 2011 kw with 95k miles yes I said 95k miles. I’m so scared I’m getting it deleted ASAP before it give me any problem. I’ve see tons of drivers go out of business because of the def problems

I know how you feeling. I would say stay 300 miles radious and keep 2500$ for bypassing on side plus 500$ for TRUCK towing in case it break down. But untill than make some money out of your investment. And with 95k miles hopefully you will be alright next 400k miles.

You can also buy warranty with 95k miles including engine/trans/differential for 7k for full year. If you want yo play more safer. But bypassing will reduce value/warranty and dealers won't work on it. One of my friend bypass 2011 Volvo at 700k miles.
