Whole ass laws were changed because a rich man wanted to own a news station when he already owned print media so he got Reagan elected by using his print media to praise him over and over. Proud Union member here! 22 years under CWA, 3 years now under AFT. Bernie speaks the truth. You can thank unions for the 40-hour work-week, paid time off (sick, vacation, holidays), lunch breaks, FMLA, non-discrimination in the workplace, and lots of other things!!

I love how this ended. The "Corrections" energy is leaking into the broadcast segments more & more. And, frankly, I think its for the better. Other Late Night shows edit everything to look so polished & perfect. Seth acknowledges that not every joke is going to hit and that's okay. It makes his show feel more authentic in a way.

I realized it a while ago. It throws off my whole week when he's gone, and every time he leaves I realize how much the other guys suck. The Jimmies especially, but Colbert's turning into a shill and is so cringey sometimes. His "Is potato" started off as a fun inside joke, and now it reminds me of that Ricky Gervais show where producer character was trying to get Ricky's character to turn "Are you havin' a laugh?" into a catch phrase.

I wasn't really into his style, but I was desperate for some more Late Night when Colbert would have his off-days, and now I really enjoy Seth's style. He does THE best Trump impression than anybody I've ever heard (at least in Late Night). Trump is not an easy guy to emulate and Seth nails all his nuances.

All the current late night show hosts are good in their own way and styles. Kimmel, Colbert, Meyers and Fallon. Samantha Bee and Trevor are also good. I'm not so much into James Cordon, but I love Bill Maher and John Oliver.

That of course is the real reason he's bought it, so that he can control the narrative in everything he does & ensure negative press about him is always crushed & replaced by his choice of PR options about his projects. He has a LOT of business fail skeletons he wants to hide & now the PERFECT platform to do just that!

Weird...... Companies like GM, Ford and Toyota receive the same type of subsidies, only to the tune of around 10x as much. It's almost like you don't have a chance of starting a competitive business without them. Almost like corporate welfare should end.

@@DarthObscurity Subsidies play an important role in creating new markets because the payout may be too long-term for private capital investment without government partnership. I think that subsidies for electric cars was the right thing for governments to do. My problem with Musk and subsidies is that he does not acknowledge that Tesla and SpaceX would not have been possible without tax dollars, while also dodging taxes for himself and disparaging the collection of tax revenue.

Correction: twitter didn’t start with uploading pictures of your food. Twitter started by using sms to text short 140 character messages to 40404. Instagram started with people primarily uploading pictures of their food.

Correction to your correction: Seth did not say Darth Vader managed the Death Star but was "unveiling it". Seeing as how Darth Vader was the first to meet and subsequently escorted the Emperor on his first visit to the Death Star, it's fair to say that Vader was the only one who "unveiled" the Death Star to its sole audience, the Emperor.
