In this video we talk about Tudor and why it’s not an investment watch. Buy a Tudor because you actually want one.

Tudor embodies everything a watch should be. Well built and robust. Obtainable. Swiss accurate movements. Classic and no fuss designs. Legible. Not blingy. Not man jewelry. Just a man’s tool. Everything Rolex used to be. Honestly if you are spending $4k on a watch you shouldn’t be a sourpuss about losing $400-500 in resale.

Spot on. I have Rolex and Tudor watches. However, Tudor tends to have more wrist times than Rolex.
@brett23962 жыл бұрын
Rolex and Tudor are definitely really different. Rolex watches tend to have more polishing and flash too them. Plus they have that stigma of being a “rich person” watch. Most people either think it’s fake or think you are a douche if you own one. Tudor is under the radar, mostly brushed toolish looking watches that most people don’t know about. They give you Rolex quality fit and finishing for way less than what Rolex watches go for these days. They each have their own type of buyer and they both make great watches. One can’t replace the other. I prefer Tudor for it being under the radar and more toolish. I also prioritize value over flash and bragging rights of owning a Rolex.

I think as long as Tudor is associated with Rolex, the potential to be collectible and retain or surpass retail is likely...so it's more of an investment piece than many other brands imo. For most common folk, forking over thousands for a watch is still a luxury expense so the thought of investment and returns can't escape the watch buying experience for many...I don't mind the mentality as it keeps people satisfied in their purchase and that's what a watch has become--an accessory that serves as an illusion 💯

I agree chris last year and the year before they had picked up some steam , and was at premiums , and now u can get ‘em at a discount. I’m surprised because I love my Tudor’s. Now if your AD is pushing you on another brand to keep your Rolex hopes high ( I don’t recommend playing that game ) then I think a Tudor is a better bang for buck than breitling imho
@p.a77752 жыл бұрын
I think tudor make great affordable and obtainable watches. I personally prefer them to breitling and omega so they make a great alternative to a rolex. Yes I totally agree don't buy if you really want rolex but enjoy them for the great luxury watch that they are, and whilst they don't retain money like a rolex they are much more of a wear every day watch.

I was able to wear a Pelagos for two years then sell for a $400 profit, so happy the brand holds value. I did buy at a good price off of eBay, that is key.

I'd say this applies for all watches and not just Tudor. Buy them for the right reason. Watches are not investments. But hey! If that's where you'd like to put your money, then that's completely your choice!

I’ve been on a list for panda BB Chrono for over 8 months. I don’t even want it anymore, had them ad me to list for BB Pro, but curious if I ever get a call. Maybe they are ghosting me. They did get me the 925 within 4 weeks last year, but that turned into a big mess (posted video about it).

Very sound advice. Tudor is a daily beater but the pelagos titanium is a softer metal so better watch out

Tudor are doing really well. Giving Seiko a run for their money in the higher end budget friendly section. One way they could differentiate themselves from Seiko is to upgrade to a 120 click bezel, but I guess that’s more of a mid range watch budget thing.

I bought my north flag for retail and it's now a bit harder to find. Even on ebay. The ones on ebay are quite a bit more than retail but I don't consider it an investment. I just love to wear it and am not bothered if I mark it up. It's a keeper for me. Also have the silver BB58 and original 58. All are worn like they should be.

Chris adjustable clasp is something optional. Even PP, AP and VC don’t have an adjustable clasp. Is not a deal breaker for me since I don’t wear my watches too tight.

I love my Tudors. I have Rolexes but they don’t get much wrist time. Rolexes are my weekends and Tudors are my weekdays
@robertlock60412 жыл бұрын
Yes, the GMT is thick, but all GMT watches have a bulk to them. Compare this GMT with the Grand Seiko Sport GMT, which also has 200 metres of water resistance and you'll see what I mean. The Omega Aqua Terra World Timer isn't exactly small, either. 😀
@ruudinkeksijat2 жыл бұрын
This is quite recent trend. For example older ETA-tudor GMT's are really thin. Decade ago you could buy 10mm thick true GMT-watch from tudor at least in europe. In-house does not mean, it is automatically better...
@robertlock60412 жыл бұрын
@@ruudinkeksijat Hi there, I agree with you. The PP world timer watches are not as big, but they are in a different category. The Sinn U50 offers 500 metres of water resistance and is only a fraction over 11mm thick, with a Sellita SW300 movement. Mine has chronometer level accuracy so I have nothing to complain about. I also have a Tudor GMT but the dimensions don't bother me, frankly. My wrist is just big enough to cope with it.

Awesome Scott! Tudor gmt is great as well. If you love the chrono you will love the gmt. 🍻

Hi Scott, if I might add to the debate, I bought a Q series GMT last July. The last time I adjusted the timing was at the end of October, when Britain went back to UTC for the winter... it's gained about 30 seconds since then. That's 10 seconds a month. I'm really impressed. 😀
@scottwexlin64562 жыл бұрын
@@robertlock6041 three months after I brought the watch, the pushers stopped working, and it had to go in for warranty service. Up until that point it was routinely running 3 to 4 seconds per day fast. When I got it back from service in December, not only were the pushers fixed, but they must’ve adjusted something because now it runs about one second per day fast.

People should be aware that Tudor is not a flashy watch. It is a pure tool, understated watch. If you want to show off, have it as a status symbol, or get compliments, it is the wrong watch to get. Rolex is the best at this, but Tudor is almost the opposite of this since it is so tone down.

TUDOR IS DEFINITELY NOT ROLEX 😂😂😂😂
@CobraKaiNoMercy Жыл бұрын
Sadly some people think they are. I’ve even seen people get offended or have the need to point out that Rolex and Tudor are owned by the same group when people say “Rolex doesn’t own Tudor” or something similar. I’d happily buy a Tudor over a Rolex, but some Tudor owners are quite delusional or very defensive about the Rolex connection.
@SIZZO76 Жыл бұрын
@@CobraKaiNoMercy I agree my friend. Some people are very delusional. Tudor is ok nothing more. Nothing less. Definitely not on Rolex level or Omega. Just my opinion 😂
