That’s exactly how this one started. Kevin Smith came up with the idea during a podcast, just knocking the idea around, having fun. Then he had his twitter followers vote if the movie should be made.

The Human Centipede and Tusk taught me two things: - Never go to a house in the middle of nowhere - Don't drink anything offered by a stranger if I ever happen to stop by his/her house, ever. I don't want to wake up to my mouth attached to someone's bum. Or turned into a walrus. Or I'm just being paranoid again HAHAHA 😂

Why does this movie give me such mixed feelings? One minute I’m laughing hysterically at the fact there’s two men dressed in walrus suits fighting, and than the next minute I feel like I’m about to cry because he’s stuck like that.

It still has a very good dialogue and tone, I really felt bad for tusk torwards the end, imagine not being able to talk so you’re just freaking out because it’s your instinct and a human is pointing a gun at you. Insane

What I have a hard time believing is a starving emaciated man manage to kill a walrus with presumably no other weapons aside from rocks and his bare hands. Those things could overpower any human with minimal effort.

Same here dood. I went into it having been pitched it as some gruesome, disturbing body horror I should avoid at all costs, I guess because none of my friends realised/accepted it was a comedy. Obviously I watched it anyway lol and was pleasantly surprised by its wackiness. "Ew how it's disturbing and fucked up!'" No, it's SILLY. It's the filmmakers having fun with a stupid in-joke. Thats a pretty fair review. I didnt know what this film was about when I went to see it at the cinema, my mate just said lets go see the new Kevin Smith film. When it finished, nobody in the cinema moved. There was a creeped out, did that really just happen atmosphere. But not in a great way, more in the sense why. Yet a part of me really likes this film, it's twisted, it triggers people. It just lacks some cohesiveness in some way, it kinda became too unbelievable. Yet I cant help feel if this was made in the 80's, I may have felt different.

i watched this movie with my boyfriend today not knowing anything about it. it’s haunting me and i have never been so disturbed by any movie in my life. also this movie is so lighthearted that it’s insane which makes it 10x more creepier.

I think what's the most disturbing about this movie is that they take actual atrocities made by Québec government in one of its worst period (duplessis' orphans) but they really did not need to do that in order to explain why the old man had issues. Thousands of children put in asylums where they were tortured and drugged even though they did not need to so that the government could get money on their back, most of them ended up killing themselves or dealing with mental illnesses and not being able to live in society again. Even in Québec we still barely talk about this.

Walrus is one of those movies where everyone laughs at it but anyone in the situation would be scared and want to die but not in like a monster movie hunting me kind of way more like a human centipede

I just watched this movie and I’m so happy to find out you made a review, I honestly wasn’t sure what the heck I was watching but something tells me they must’ve enjoyed making this movie like when you fool around with your friends although I must say some jokes didn’t play out well in the movie but the movie being a joke itself is good enough for me. I'm glad you didn't feel the need to poop all over this film like a lot of people I've talked to! I loved it. It's not meant to be flawless. The premise is absurd, and it delivers on that promise on every level. Dark, tongue-in-cheek hilarity, weirdness. Not a _great_ film, but I'll be damned if I wasn't curious and _entertained_ from start to finish!

I actually saw this last year and didn't know that was Johnny Depp until just now. I think I was too focused on the chopped limbs and disgusting walrus evolution. Michael Parks was so good in this, despite my feelings overall for this movie.

Just heard of this movie today (it was on a WatchMojo list). It makes me uncomfortable to think movies like this exist. I'm glad you have taken the time to talk about these movies so that I can satisfy any morbid curiosity I have without having to watch any of it.
