@@MrHocotateFreight fr, I'd honestly say I'm the exact kind of person that you're explaining right here, I'm the type that won't speak unless spoken to. And dang it I should really go out and catch up with someone since I'm not doing shit this summer. It's like when families and friends of depressed individuals say that "they are loved" or "a lot of people care about them" but said individuals would be left to rot. It's crazy how strange it is, simmering in the depths for years instead of acting on it, maybe they're running off of that slither or hope or holding on for longer so that their loved ones don't grieve, or maybe just simply 'existing' waiting for their time. Yet, no one can really take them out through intervention if the individual doesn't embrace a complete shift in prospective. Twomad's death is a tragic story of mental illness and drug abuse with no one to intervene. Sadly a loss like this isn't uncommon, there are many lingering in the shadows ostracized from society, they are seemingly invisible, everyone knows they're there but no one really acts on it. I'm sure they themselves want to, but it's a struggle to simply act on it, I have no idea how tough it is to get out of a mindset like that.

As someone who used to be a close friend of his from 2017-2020, I just want to state that Twomad chose to be alone. He had plenty of close friends early in his career that he kept abusing and pushing away. He wasn't always like that. He used to play games with us, hang out in VC, have some deep conversations. Eventually he just stopped doing that and became much more colder, inconsiderate, and completely unreasonable. I don't know if he was or wasn't on drugs during that time since he didn't really talk about it (other than weed), but in the end he pushed all of us away.

Yea depression does that to a mf fr, had a friend push everyone else away in his life before he committed. Bottom line is you aren’t that person so you have no idea what’s going on in their head. They may look happy and cheerful but only they know what they are feeling behind closed doors. I wanna make it clear I’m not defending two mad either. We don’t know what actions he committed and what actions he didn’t. With no proof it’s hard to swing in either direction.

I mean come on i think it is kinda obvious that he would never accept help because that is how sadly things go down, and of course nobody is pointing fingers at you for not making a whole world just to help him but saying that he "chose to be alone" is the same as saying "he wanted to be addicted and ill", it simple is not true and it was just a slow result of his many problems :/

The personal life that Twomad had lived, though we could truly never know fully, resembles what my path in life could potentially lead toward. I just turned 18 and since I gained consciousness, I've felt isolated even though there were people around me. Not being diagnosed for years with the disorders that I now know of was truly devastating to my mental health. Believing I was merely an alien who tried desperately to coexist with other humans was agonizing to the soul. Till now, it's felt that I've only spiraled further and further into lunacy without a single person to give me any support. Right now I think I'm doing fine, but I'm only questioning when my next cycle of despair will come. I know I shouldn't manifest these thoughts, but at this point, it feels like it's destiny. I'm still going to high school until it finishes in a month from now and believe that school is the only form of human connection, though a sliver, I get to experience. When Highschool finishes, I truly believe that I'll spiral out of control just like twomad did. I can hope for a better future, but I know my fate

Everything about this is sad. I work with young guys in their twenties who struggle with drugs and mental health issues. They often have histories of abuse of their own and all three issues lead to really dark places. These guys were actually the ones who told me about his Zoom hijack videos and it’s some of the funniest content I’ve ever seen. Hurt people hurt people. Obviously it doesn’t absolve anything he did. It is just a flood of tragedy. I’ve lost dozens of friends whose stories have bits in common with this. Not the harassment, but a lot of weird scary stuff. Help is there. It can get better.

Twomad was a genuinely unhinged person who needed a lot of help and likely hurt a lot of people, physically or otherwise. But all of these vague, unsupported allegations undermine anything he actually did since that now can be lumped together with the unsupported implications. As for James, I think it started as him genuinely believing there were crimes being committed, but now he can’t accept that it wasn’t as bad as he thought. So now James has to keep escalating to justify his own crusade against someone who can no longer defend himself, even though Twomad’s supposed victims are saying the allegations are false. All bad people all around, and I genuinely hope James gets the help Twomad didn’t.

Seeing this for the first time, well 1. James looks like a sketchy asshole and the reason for this almost r/thathappen level stories are concerning, and the people celebrating his death were, while somewhat I get it, are rather disguisting in their own right 2. Personally while I pity Twomad, as someone who for a long time has also felt alone, tbh is also rather difficult to feel all that mad when he did almost everything to alienate himself from others. Is frustrating how he took everything like a meme, even legitimate concerns. You could argue is because of the drugs, but is still rather gratting. He needed someone to metaphorically and literally slapped him back to reality, but he did his darnest to avoid that

Watched it already, and I’ll say what I said again, this was prolly the realest turkey man video I’ve seen, the level of effort and the obvious emotional connection to the story made for my favorite piece by Tom. It’s really evident now that the internet as we have known it is changing so drastically that it’s unrecognizable compared to what it once was, with the downfall of so many creators through their own means or through the platforms they’ve used neutering them, or just some of the great ogs retiring from the internet as a whole is just so sad, we are at the end of an era. But idk this new ones got some cool stuff too, jynxi, casoh, Kai, sketch, and some of the other guys like them are taking the torch building themselves to be the ogs of future generations, it’s not really a bad thing but watching it all happen and thinking back to good old days while doing so is just so so so surreal and sad and honestly gut wrenching seeing some of these guys fall so hard, but I hold hope this new era can evolve into something as cool as the last one.✌️💙
