I am not a Jamaican, but I can't remember wishing so badly for an athlete to win Olympic gold as badly as I want Kishane Thompson to win it. I want him to blow the competition out of the water. I just wish his speed had been under wraps so guys could come to the Olympics and get a shocker. It is time to shut some people up. I want Jamaica to go Gold and Silver in the 100 meters at the Olympics

When Kishain go through the line for the gold he will carry Oblique with him.. Because its clear to everyone Kishane is fastest of the 2,... The reason why a lot of athletes don't do multiple events is due to how violent sprinting can be on the body. Risks of season-ending injuries increase with more events, so to avoid this athletes are kept to one event. Bolt is a special case, he came from the 400m. With the advantage of his height (stride length/frequency), and his speed, strength, and endurance being built from training for the 400m. Which transferred perfectly to the 100m and 200m. An all-out100 m is equivalent to an all-out 400 m. In the case of Kishane, I think his coach is trying to avoid the mistakes made with Asafa.

I will say this, and I'm not Jamaican, but if Kishane, Omanyala, and Seville can actually perform when it counts, Noah may have to settle for 4th. If he does metal, it may be because he will run a personal best (under 9.80), or these other guys who are capable of running a 9.7 will start well, get out on him from the start, also being able to hold their form and take it home. Or someone else (one of the other sprinters we are sleeping on) just may surprise everyone and will cut someone else's chances to metal. This should be an interesting 100m in the Olympics.

Albeit Shericka Jackson seemingly is at her upper-bound and empirically determined level of body mass (164 pounds), it portends she will race at a speed of circa 10.76 (± 0.12331) seconds¹--at 100 meters, 22.03 (± 0.25639) seconds at 200 meters--in the interim and before the Olympic Games. I think Kishane can one day get close to or break the 100-meter record. He is only 22, and usually, male athletes start reaching their prime at 25. I dont think he will do it in the 200 meter. The promising one on the 200 is Erriyon knighton. I think eventually they are going to drop him down to 100 meters to work on his speed. But i give him 4 to five more years before he got a shot at it.

The 100m runners normally run 150m and 200m in practice. Doing 200m alone will not make you win the 100m. Their are exercises that are coupled with that for your to get stronger. Alot of persons problem as Lyles said, is, maintaining their top end speed after 60m. Lyles can hold his top end speed longer than the average runner and a big thing with that is because he stays relaxed.

Asafa had groin issue while running the 200m and Shelly didn't start out as a 200m runner in 2008. She won 200m against a weaker field in 2013 WC but was never the most competitive in the event. No one sleeping on Noah we all respect his talent and speed. But in 100m you need a great start Seville and Thompson both have this Noah doesn't. Kishane did to Seville what Noah tried to do a few weeks before in running him down and passing him. This shows he has not only speed but power too. Lyles only has speed you need both to win the 100m.

Blake's don't count wasn't down in a championship setting. Fastest blake went after the rounds is 19.44. Lyles has run 19.31 and multiple 19.50s after the rounds so he is superior to blake in championship settings.

You are so wrong, he is guarantee to run faster than 9.77. Did you see the 100m finals, he shuts it down about 30meters out from the finish line. That was easily a 9.70 or even a 9.67 had he continue to push. Once he was clearly ahead of Oblique it was just his momentum that carried him through.

It's amazing how persons like you talking up Lyles like he is the best thing since slice bread...Lyles hasn't beaten the American record in the 100 up till now; he hasn't run the second fastest 200m ever up till now, so what on God's green earth you chatting about??? Yes he is a good athlete but just chillax....Kishane never choked when he ran against Coleman, he never chocked against Seville...Kishane has Jogged Lyles pb 3 times so just chill.

@@zaphenathkitson6889 Why is all the USA supporters saying the only way Lyles can win if everyone chokes. Guess why because he ain't fast enough. Let's leave KT out Noah's concern is to beat Seville. Let's not give Noah too many headaches just yet. Seville is faster than last year. Noah hasn't shown as yet he is faster than last year. We wait in suspense
