Now that the barrel work is done on my Remington 700 custom 224 Valkyrie rifle, it's time to make a thread protector for the threaded muzzle. Good thing I have my barrel cut-off ready to roll!

Another great result. I find funny, that some viewers want to see more lathe action, while for me it has the perfect balance of information and visualization without being too long. Keep them coming.

You make this look deceptively so easy. Thanks for sharing. I don't have the skill for this type of work but I enjoy seeing it done.

Hell yeah makes me want to build a 700 and I'm not a Remington fan or I should say a freedom group fan LOL. Keep up the good work. Gun is starting to look amazing. Very impressed.

How long is that barrel? Curious to know what the ideal length would be for the .224 Valkyrie to get maximum powder burn
@Ultimatereloader

24" - seems to be a good tradeoff of barrel length/bulk and velocity!

Can you use an unchambered .223 barrel blank for a .224 Valkyrie? I thought the actual bullet diameters were the same

Wow! For just what I'm using? Over $10,000. Just think of it this way- would I rather have the leather upgrade on a Tesla, or all these tools? :)

That's just for what's shown in this video :) The rest of the shop, that starts to add up.

It adds up. But it helps a barrel blank is cheap compared to a fitted and chambered barrel

Indeed, and 1 afternoon turnaround time is better than the local gunsmith who is backlogged for 6-9 months!
