This is so incredibly brilliant. I wish the big companies would actually sell something like this. Why does this not exist?

Genius and simple, does the wire serve as a way to keep the right form of the hose?
@fhuable4 жыл бұрын
The wire is just there to make it easier for the air bubbles to squeeze past the thick resin.
@JuanCarlos_3design5 жыл бұрын
what triggers the autorefill?
@fhuable5 жыл бұрын
once the resin level falls to a certain height, the air pressure will push more resin out until the level rises enough to cover the straw again. Same principal as an automatic bird feeder, although it's easier to do with water. Much less viscous. That's what the wire helps with.

And the copper wire is for?
@fhuable5 жыл бұрын
The wire helps break the surface tension with very viscous resins, like LCD-N. Not always necessary

Anyone selling the resin for this sparkmaker? I stay in Bangalore INDIA. Banggood isn't delivering to my address. So I just need to know where can this be available
@Drestlin4 жыл бұрын
won't the resin inside the clear bottle, over time, cure? wouldn't painting the bottle and maybe leaving just a strip clear or semi-clear to see the level of the resin inside be an upgrade?
@fhuable4 жыл бұрын
I regularly leave resin in the vat. It's not a problem unless it is hit with strong light for some time (eg. sun light). It is possible for resin to harden inside the bottle over time but it's not meant for storage. It's just an extra reservoir for the duration of the print. When you clean out the vat, clean out the bottle.

just out of curiosity, the add says this is a 1080p screen, has anyone tried upgrading to a higher difinition screen? 1440p plus or anything?
@fhuable5 жыл бұрын
It's actually not even 1080p yet (854x480). Only the Sparkmaker FHD will have a 1080p screen and that hasn't shipped yet. Regarding your question, yes, someone on the Facebook group has tried a higher res screen with good results. I wouldn't call it an upgrade however since he replaced the screen and most of the electronics. Check out the "SparkMaker SLA 3D Printer (Official)" Facebook group to see it.

Hey, after 4 years I doubt you will respond or are still using that design. Did you ever make any updates? Also, when using this auto filler, have you ever had issues with the new resin causing failures due to slight temperature differences, and turbulence causing supports to get knocked around?
@fhuable Жыл бұрын
Hi. I haven't used it in a while but I haven't noticed any problems so far. Turbulence due to inflow shouldn't really be an issue since supports should always be able to physically withstand much worse abuse. I could imagine that temperature fluctuations caused by new resin may affect the print in some way but this likely only affects prints that are tuned to the very edge of the exposure time for speed. Again, can't say I've witnessed any trouble.
@deepwebcowboy6681 Жыл бұрын
@@fhuable Okay, I was just curious. I myself have had prints fail entirely along a layer line when adding new resin into the vat. I always pause my prints when adding resin so I wasn't sure if new resin would affect supports; but I have read about people have problems. Thanks.

What's the purpose of plaster primer? can ignore it?
@fhuable5 жыл бұрын
The plastic primer is very important. It is part of a 2 component plastic glue. Most glues will not do a good job of binding to drinking straws (Polypropylene). Just try out the glue you intend to use on a small strip. The entire system has to be airtight (except the outlet, of course)
